You are basically making things up, here. A PS5 isn't only marginally worse than a 4090, in actual game performance. And a 4090 isn't 8x faster even on paper specs, let alone actual game performance.
Turtles in time, Goldeneye, Alien Isolation, Ghost Busters (PS3/XB360), Knights of The Old Republic, Star Trek: Elite Force, numerous Spiderman games, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, the recent Hogwartz game, Star Wars Republic Commando, Tron 2.0,.....many games for decades.
8-10 hours isn't that much time. So, they must be pulling down really high bitrate streams.
It will be tougher to manage, with that many different sets of streaming hardware. But, each different piece of hardware, should have local settings. Possibly per profile.
May be easiest to buy Roku...

Otherwise, a card like that, or the AMD reference card posted above, could be deshrouded. And then you zip tie 15mm thick Noctua 92mm fans to it. Voiding your warranty with most brands...
Those are LG's JOLED panels.
INNOCN sells a 32 inch for about $1000, on Amazon. But it only has USB-C input. Probably doesn't support any form of VRR and probably YMMV on a USB-C to HDMI cable working out.
Philips sells a 27 inch, which you can get on Amazon and B&H. Has regular DP input and...
Some of the leakers think AMD are lowballing the performance improvement. Just like they did with Zen 3.
Also, Zen 5 is supposed to have big improvements for AVX.
The supposed story is that Starfield started life as a Vulcan game. When Microsoft purchased Bethesda, they forced them to move the game over to Direct X. The porting-over was not going well and at a pretty late stage, they made a deal with AMD, to help get the game in a shippable state (Because...
If Zen 6 gets confirmed for AM5, I will wait for the Zen 6 X3D's. So, I will wait for confirmation of which platform Zen 6 will be on, before I consider a purchase of Zen 5 X3D.
I dunno what they will be numbered as-----But Zen 5 Desktop will likely be announced at CES, in January. Maybe launched right then, or maybe a couple of weeks later. No confirmation, yet.
Zen 5 should be a pretty big jump from Zen 4. Will be interesting to see how the 7800X3D compares, for gaming.
Well, if they don't have an LG panel OLED to compare-----its likely their comparison is whatever IPS or VA panel they were using before. And as I stated earlier in the thread, OLED will still look better, even in poor lighting conditions. Because the underlying panel still has per pixel...
If it read as me saying they are like Intel's E-Cores, that is not what I meant.
but not considered a drastically worse core, when Intel's E cores are a different architecture and much worse peformance.
I have a 1080p/240hz monitor which does 500 nits in SDR and I set it at brightness setting of '40' (out of 100) for gaming. And that same '40' is otherwise too much, for general computer use.
I dunno how people can stand 1000 nits HDR, on a computer desk. It might be ok in a 12 foot living room...
I guess. But I don't see why they would go backwards.
Zen 5c is a shrunk down Zen 5. Uses less die space and power, but not considered a drastically worse core, like Intel's E cores. Zen5c should still be better than Zen 3 and probably 4, as well. And I'm pretty sure the next APU's are RDNA3...
It's either 'good enough' for AMD's goals, and they enjoy a better price.
Or it's 'TSMC doesn't have enough extra capacity to fill these orders', and AMD has to use the next option.
Although I'm less inclined to think this is the case. Because everybody cut back their orders, earlier this year...
Sure. But that is a separate issue from what has already been said about QD-OLED lacking a polarizing layer.
IMO, matte finish on OLED isn't as much a problem as it can be with edge lit IPS and VA, because you still are looking at an OLED. Per pixel light control. No light bleed, no halos, no...
I think 32 inch monitor size is fine. And likely thrilling for a teen. I think anything from 24, 27, or 32 for physical size, would all be good for this.
Outside of esports titles, 6700 XT is a 1440p/60 card nowadays.
WOLED and JOLED still show big contrast advantages in lit rooms. That per pixel lighting control, is difficult to summarize in a review. You just gotta see it.
Even at Costco, I enjoy looking at a C3 or a G3 much more than any of the VA panel TVs.
And while mini led are brighter, they don't...
QD-OLED's lack a polarizing layer. That's why the black level raises with ambient light. This has been noted in every review RTings does on a QD-OLED panel. *I think Samsung's newest TVs mitigate this somewhat, with their screen coating. But, they still lack the polarizer.
They are all separate drivers. So to update them, its all still separate. And Intel's Driver & Support Assistant, only detects updates for Intel Graphics, Wifi, and Bluetooth. it doesn't do any of the other stuff. Its dumb.
Most of them eventually come through Windows update. But they lag...
This really is not true right now, or for the forseeable future. The majority of games still ship with visual effects meant for non-RT graphics cards and will continue to do so for a long time. In those games (the majority of games) RT is additional.
All of that stuff you already have on hand?
Personally....I would try to pickup a used 6 core. Like a Zen 2 Ryzen 3600 or something. 3400G is a 4 core and its Zen+. It will probably bottleneck even a 1660ti. I would have a hard time handing that CPU off for gaming.
Additionally, while a...
I think everyone in this thread should consider that Switch is a hybrid-----and that is key to its success.
The living-room console market has shown for 20 years, it can't really sustain 3 players. Which is probably why Nintendo, the number one handheld maker, went hybrid. And now, the living...
Professional.
Got a couple of CompTia certs, back when they were supposed to be "good for life". Never bothered to renew them, now that they expire every couple of years or whatever.
I was a hardware nerd in my teens. Joined the Air Force at 20, and that was my first professional experience...
Switch is the second best selling console of all time-----Nintendo doesn't have a "problem". If anything, 3rd parties should be figuring out how to make a budget for more content, for Switch.
You can still get the last installer, from CNET

The video editor is nice, too. But its way too behind on codec support, when it comes time to export the project.
The photor app will view just about everything...
Dell's basic keyboard which they include with their desktops, has a laptop-like keyboard. And they use a similar design feel, to their individual products, as well.

For 8K to be viable to the market, there needs to be 8K content.
There are virtually no movies being finished in 8K. Many are still 2K upscales to 4K. PC games won't be viable for affordable 8K, for at least a few years. And console games will have to wait until Playstation 7, for effective 8K...
