I ran one character through most every side quest and all the way to NG+ to experience that. Plenty of hours in entertainment and I’m about 4 achievements away from 100%. Been on a break from it but will likely return to get those achievements. Game is a solid 7/10 for me.
I agree with the assessments above. Check the ram settings/ installation.
Forgive me if I’m way off. You state slot 1 and 2 for your ram modules. Are they installed like the manual says for two sticks ? A2,B2?
Agree. If buying brand new at this point the 7900xt all day. I have a reference model and love it. The 6000 series cards are still fine but I would only buy them used anymore for the price performance angle. They are last gen after all and why over pay for that?
Awesome deal!
Also on Amazon:
12600kf is $140
12700kf is $199
12700k is $211
Lots of z690 boards around $150 and even cheaper used. I have ddr4 lying around and I really need to stop looking at these deals…😆
For sure. Anything AM4 and less than 8/16 would be for lower budget drop in upgrades for existing systems. To your point a 5700x is probably the price performer even for that use case.
160 is a nice deal on a 5700x. I wonder what prices will be on these. Microcenter has the 5600x3d at 199 currently and I’m super tempted to get one for “reasons.” 😁
Ha!
I believe I picked this one up on a pirate elimination mission from the board. Random drop. I actually bought the first Hard Target I had at a vendor somewhere. Fun rifle for sure.
Pretty interesting if true. I’ve got a few B450 systems in the family and it’s not like any of them are spending 4090 money so something like a 5500x3d would be a good budget gaming cpu to run those pcie 3 systems into the ground. I imagine that would push $200 GPUs for years.
My couch gaming / media streaming Pc is a 5600x and 6800xt itx box in a Sliger Conswole case. It does 4K 60 on everything I play and I’m ok with 1440p high detail sitting so far away as well. Played some Starfield for a few hours today.
Shitty pic but runs and looks fine.
Fractal Pop air Atx black. The one with a solid panel.
Fractal Define 7 compact
Check out all the Fractal cases on Newegg if nothing else they have good pics of everything and many of Fractal’s cases have options with solid panels , no rgb etc.
If you don’t have an issue with the eATX size this is the deal for an AM5 board right now IMO.
I swapped down from x670e to the MSI B650 Edge wifi a few weeks ago and it has been rock solid. I even considered getting on this Taichi Lite deal and switching again but I have everything dialed in...
Looking for 1 AM4 board and cpu for sure and possibly 2 combos in total. Any gen or size is fine. I would like to keep it around a hondo or less each if possible.
Shipped to 45243 and I have PayPal for payment.
Thanks!
I have a 32g kit of those also and I’m willing to bet the heat spreaders are mostly cosmetic and running them naked with some airflow would probably result in lower temps. See how they run and what temps look like in HWInfo. If they are in the normal range then no big deal.
Well the 16gb 4060ti is available new now for $430 and slots between the 6700xt 12g and vanilla 6800 16g on the AMD side in raster if memory serves. Unfortunately it’s probably the only sub $500 Nvidia card worth looking at new if you want the team green feature set. Agree that the 8g Version...
My $35 Bounty Hunter 300i with LTI Kickstarter package purchased in 2012 includes Squadron 42 and the single player game is all I was and am interested in. The persistent universe could be fun eventually but I can’t get into it despite trying once or twice a year. I still think they should have...
I'm having a blast with it so while the game certainly has its shortcomings it has been super fun and I can't wait to see what they do with it in the coming months/years. Like any game some will enjoy it and some won't. If its not for you move on. Not a bit deal. Games are supposed to be fun...
The only person I’ve seen try 8200 memory speeds was Frame Chasers on YouTube. He did a comparison of the 14900k vs 13900ks and a quick and dirty ram OC. Basically he got there but it likely needs tuned for stability. The cpu he has seems no better than a 13900ks for memory OC basically.
Idk the company my sister in law works for went full remote. Gave everyone 5k to outfit the home office however they see fit. Invested in good IT support and permanently closed the brick and mortar office. One a month they have a full staff meeting and catered lunch in a conference space in...
IMO if you have the jack to buy a $600+ GPU why would you power it with a PSU from 2008…. It’s been a good run. Retire that thing before it dies and possibly takes something with it.
I’ve stuck with Seasonic and Corsair lately for PSUs and have had good luck with those.
Unless you are tuning ram for fun go easy mode. GSkill Ripjaw c16 3200 or Teamgroup Vulcan Z (like $35 for 16Gb on Newegg right now) and call it a day.
Sometimes individual board cpu and ram combos just won’t play nice and maybe you are seeing that here.
There are a ton of deals on z690 mobos. Not really looking but always looking! It’s a sickness really…
There are quite a few at 199 and the Meg Ace is 299. Half off and a lot of mobo for 300 bucks if giant eATX is your thing.
Most if not all B550 /x570 boards do not support Ryzen 1000 series CPUs. The board you linked here is 3000 and up per the support list on Gigabyte’s website.

I suggest you look at B450 boards like the Gigabyte...
I’ve spent hours and hours screwing around in the ship builder and it’s one of the most enjoyable things in the game for me right now. Personally it’s easier to buy, capture or get a quest reward ship and then rebuild or upgrade it vs starting from scratch. However after doing that a while I...
Oh man! So far that hasn’t happened to me. I wonder if deleting all the parts and rebuilding it does anything for that? I have the quest reward ships and really only use the Kepler R with some optimization due to its large cargo capacity. The rest of the ships ,4 or 5 , are captures I keep...
Lately , I have been having fun capturing ships either on the ground or boarding in space and then rearranging the parts and tweaking in the ship builder.
Captured one of these..
The reactor and weapons should be upgraded for sure as I kept all those as is for now however, it only cost about...
I visited my brother yesterday to upgrade his ram to 32G. He is running an i7 6700, 32G of ram and a 2060 super and of course all SSD storage but it’s all sata drives even. —Game runs fine and I was actually surprised to see that in person considering all the talk.
And yes the game has its...
Glad to hear its up and running at least. I just did a full shut down and full cold boot and timed it. 54 seconds to the Windows log in screen from cold boot. After updating to the most recent bios I have only set:
-15 per core curve optimizer
1.35v memory and 1.35v CPU VDDIO/MC. Expo primary...
Are you running bios default and still having issues posting? It’s quite possible your particular cpu and or mobo and those kits are just not playing nice for whatever reason. As far as timings and speed some memory controllers on some CPUs are just ass. Silicon lottery and all that.
My...
The only issue with the 4070ti is that its 800 bucks and has 12g of vram. Performance, power needs, features -- all great. Price is dogshit. End of story.
Been enjoying the game quite a bit for what it is. Meandering around grabbing quests , boarding and capturing pirate ships, built an outpost to learn that and so on. It runs fine for me after the series of crashes I had day one which were the result of my unstable ram OC apparently. Haven’t had...
Yeah we just hired 3 kids out of college and they make like $3 /hr less than me. Being paid what the position is worth is fine so I think it’s completely reasonable for these new hires to get a decent wage. The bullshit is that rising tides aren’t lifting all boats and legacy employees with a...
Just today a guy I work with put in his notice. He is 5 or so years from retirement and took a 1 day in the office and 4 days a home per week job and is getting a 20% raise and better 401k match from the new company. We have a decent job and work for a national 90k plus employee outfit and they...
