5PX2200 UPS cooling & noise management

I also just completed a fan swap on a 5PX 2200 RT. I was kind of surprised that the fans do not turn off when on utility, as the equivalent APC model, the SMT 2200, has no audible fans when the battery is fully charged. I used Arctic P8 PWM fans I had laying around and just cut the extra 4th...

Trying to saturate the loop fully

Ahh, you mean like the entire threading of the plug going all the way through and touching the back of the area where water sits? I don't think that it is, the threading seems deep enough to where that shouldn't be a problem and the plugs are rather shallow to be honest. I could be entirely off...

Trying to saturate the loop fully

Thanks guys. I need to get more coolant but the stuff I used is out of stock everywhere. Might have to flush and re-fill with something I can actually get.

Trying to saturate the loop fully

The flow in the loop itself seems perfectly fine, everything moves nice and quickly without restriction all the way from 20% to 100%. I'm not saying you're wrong but the DDC seems to perform as well as the D5 I was using before. I am not experienced enough to say one way or the other.

Trying to saturate the loop fully

So my last build was a very basic soft tubing build and I had no problems saturating the loop to the point where the water looked static, the cpu block was completely filled up etc, all air bubbles eliminated, however, with this distro plate I am having trouble completely filling the loop...

Asus X99 mobos and nothing but grief on POST with waterblocks.

So, I'm looking for some general thoughts here. I've used 4 different CPUs historically and 2 different motherboards and I have the same problems across all of them. When I try to boot, the POST will hang on bF 3 times and then shut down. Or, if I use the memtest button, I can get a post but...

    WTB: 6950x CPU

Hi there, looking for a 6950x cpu, not really looking to spend more than $400 on one of these. I get that pricing is due to low supply, but frankly there isn't much reason to overpay when I could pay the same or less(of avg 6950x price on ebay) for 2066 10-core CPU. It's more of a convenience...

Buyer paid via Paypal F&F w/o me requesting it- red flags?

This is accurate, friends/family isn't bulletproof against charge backs, it's just a nice way to circumvent fees going into black holes (see: paypal's accounts) which can be excessive for large purchases.

Any idea when we'll see Seasonic Connect come to market?

I was excited to see this, seasonic connect, being a step in the direction of reducing cable clutter (to an extent), but unfortunately we haven't gotten any news from it since it was shown at Computex in 2019. Anyone in the loop have any word on if this product will ever become commercially...

FF VII: Remake. New news/teaser trailer

Yes it does! I was a huge fan of that game's combat, although if it was flawed at its core I wouldn't know. I expect a game like this to be more fleshed out if it was. I'm a little surprised they didn't just wait to make this game a PS5 time gated exclusive and I wonder what the game really...

Former or current 1080 ti/Titan (Pascal) owners

interesting take, i'd never really considered that and thinking about it does make sense. they either pushed it or talked about it at length. i game at ultrawide 3440x1440 144 hz, so for certain games that i really want to get immersed in, the 2080 would definitely help where the 1080 struggles...

What do the back ends look like, are they highly scaled out VMware implementations which then have hundreds or more of RHEL et al VMs running?

    PCIE NVMe multiplexer?

Yeah, but those 'features' aren't available unless the BIOS specifically supports bifurcation, if a mobo does not, then a PLX chip must be used, which is essentially a PCIe switch. The lane-age is just arbitrary, if someone made a 4x card you could still theoretically support 2 NVMe drives at 2x...

Former or current 1080 ti/Titan (Pascal) owners

I actually put my 1080 ti under water recently, which might seem counter intuitive, but I couldn't justify the price for the 2080 ti as much as I would like to have one.

So what's the (fan) difference? Corsair LL / ML / QL?

The HD fans are middle of the road in terms of performance, they would make okay-ish low RPM fans for slim rads like a nemesis GTS.

    The Lian Li Gallery

That's the most interesting thing I've ever seen, wish I knew about those when I was trying to fit a 1080 Gaming X into a Silverstone case instead of wasting money on 'low profile' pci-e cables.

Case recommendations - basic, good airflow

The P400A from Phanteks seems to be a solid, safe choice for good airflow, solid construction, and features at a low price point. Also has TG. If I was going to 'champion' any brands right now for the most feature rich chassis, I'd probably recommend Fractal or Phanteks. My second...

    Note 9

I just got a note 9 to replace my LG v20, which had been becoming more and more slow over time. The note 9 has been the perfect replacement. The battery is very large and as such I can squeeze an entire day onto it with ease. Camera quality also blows it away. Performance is buttery smooth...

    Fractal stock fans?

I picked up a Define S2 recently, the stock 140mm fans are honestly not usable, the issue is their RPM rating is on the abysmal side and as such they barely move any air. Plus, they're 3 pin.

    Virtual JBOD, is it possible?

I would have to second stablebit drivepool, it is not that expensive at all, and does exactly what you want. It is a nice way to pool the combined total of storage, and using something like snapRaid (which I think is free) can give your 'array' some resiliency. The nice thing about these things...
