Picked this up during that sale. Went into the game mostly blind. Played through DS1,2,3, BB and Sekiro previously, but I never even watched a review about ER or any gameplay besides the official trailers years ago. Haven't played any new games in the last couple years until Starfield.
At...
Yeah this was the game that got me into From games. Currently playing through Elden Ring for first time, and man it is awe inspiring at times. Also, rage inducing lol.
Saw reply to this thread pop-up in my alerts, was hoping for a solid pc port rumor :(.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking my bottom dollar would be. Below that, will consider changing out from my Galaxy 4. Not sure what else a watch can do tho. Lasts all day, tracks steps and gets notifications.
Ordered 8 Pro from BB. $400 trade credit for my damaged display 7 Pro is probably best I can ever hope for. Broke it in the field at work. Got a replacement display, and it started failing within an hour. Has an ever growing circle of dead pixels. Store said no warranties...
Hopefully sell the...
Oh yes.
Started with Oblivion. After FO3, swore I wouldn't get another one of their games until they made an entirely new engine or something drastically changed. Skyrim, FO4, and SF later...still a glutton for disappointment I guess. Sucks when other developers have made massive strides...
Definitely feeling this now:
https://youtu.be/a_lu152g5aM
Constant loading and fast travel screens to accomplish tasks is greatly detracting from the gameplay. Also doing some kind of espionage quest line currently. No one cares where you go. Just stroll into a corporate HQ, walk past security...
About 25 hours in. Went through at least a couple cycles of not liking the game, then loving it, and back again.
After a few minor tweaks, mods and adjusting my TV settings, this game does look pretty good now most of the time. There's a lot of other things either visually(not graphics quality)...
I do think Starfield looks good in the smaller areas/indoors and performance is fine, for me anyway. This was directed at the "open world", or larger areas. It seems in the city, and maybe other larger areas they really had to cut down on the IQ otherwise you'd get like 10fps. Which suggests the...
Just got to the city.
To me it's really jarring how far behind Starfield is graphically. Loaded up games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider, RDR2, Metro Exodus and even Horizon Zero Dawn. They all look vastly superior, in the total open world. Even with DLSS turned off and RT if possible the FPS...
Acquired the game so I could mess around with my display settings.
If HDR in Windows is enabled, black level setting on the TV didn't seem to make a difference between full and limited.
Renamed exe to FarCry5, with HDR in Windows. This allowed me to get the HDR pop-up notification on the TV...
Ok, so wasn't just me thinking at the start why my OLED tv is gray instead of black in these mines?
Wasn't expecting Metro Exodus levels of badassness in dark areas, but man did Starfield look bad.
Requested a refund from Steam. Thing is only an hour in, but still want to keep playing. The...
Man the lighting & shadows are really detracting. Don't need the absolute state of the art with ray tracing etc, but damn seems like almost all lighting/shadows are static. Player doesn't even seem to cast a shadow, at least in first person.
Indeed. Should have been more specific. Lighting and shadows looked drastically worse. Felt as though I was looking at Stalker: Clear Sky, although after Googling some screenshots it's not quite that bad.
But the lighting/shadows obviously play enormous roles in these types of games. Metro...
Yeah definitely noticed the downgrade in that new trailer straight away.
Saw a couple couple comparison vids on YT as well later. Huge difference. Definitely hope that's Xbox, cause even the frames looked low with the poorer gfx...
Hah. Had everything I wanted maxed and set to quality DLSS, but sharpness was set to 0.05. No wonder everything looked like ass.
Realized why I'm not liking the 1st person. Only thing 1st person shooter I've played for a very long time has been in VR. Looks like there's a solution to that, will...
Yeah I shelved this with the 3090. Got my 4090 installed now, game runs great. Except it looks like crap to me...everything looks so low quality. Tried disabling DLSS, but didn't look that much sharper. Having a hard time getting into the 1st person as well.
Playing Witcher 3 next gen with...
Seems better to search "4090" then filter sold by Newegg only. The MSI Suprim is still available for $1800.
Yeah, freakin cost me $1700 lol. Haven't been actively trying to get one, and every time I've looked they're sold out. But same thing last week, was in stock for hours. Decided against...
Newegg has a couple in stock 4090s:

Gigabyte Store has had a couple 4090 versions available since last night: https://store.gigabyte.us/shop/components/
I broke down and ordered one this morning, already got tracking info.
Guess I'm glad my pc is sitting in a box in my hotel room, and my OLED is several hundered miles away.
Hopefully by the time I'm set up in my apartment next year they'll have fixed this up. Didn't expect this to go too well once learning it was a free upgrade. Witcher 3 is the GOAT, this is...
Yeah, just did it myself. Got $545 for the P6 Pro.
Honestly haven't been all that impressed with it. Hope the P7 Pro is better...just doing this mainly for value I think.
Wow, that pretty much seals the deal that I'll not buy a PS5 ever. Know a lot of PS games are coming to PC or at least plausible rumors, but didn't expect this one.
Yeah think I changed a key binding at the start that screwed it up. Just tried setting controls to default and it worked fine...except I already finished the game a couple weeks ago, doh!
Seems HP has made an improved G2:
https://www.roadtovr.com/hp-reverb-g2-update-us-commonly-requested-improvements/
First I'd heard of it. My controllers did an update last night automatically, was hoping the improvements to tracking would apply to current versions. I was playing a driving...
Started playing about a week ago. Stutter is bad during transition to new areas and some cutscenes for the most part. Happens here and there during during fights etc, but nothing that ruins the game for me. Playing at 120fps/Hz with gsync tho, maybe it helps.
Oculus has the Vader Immortal Bundle for $14.99: https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/882687799301914/
Already owned the first Episode, so got a further discount to $9.89 for the remaining two. Was disappointed it was so short, but $5/episode I think is more in line. Although I've yet to...
Yeah battery powered is certainly one con of the Q2, as there have been many times I've played until it shuts down.
I actually find the Q2 perfectly fine even in games like Beat Saber and Eleven Table Tennis where I'm really moving around, doesn't slip or feel out of balance at all. I do use...
Own both the G2 and Q2.
Got the G2 in January. Only bought the Q2 about a month ago with the updated version.
If I had to pick only one, it would definitely be the Q2. Absolutely loving not having a wire, and the controller tracking is far better. Also just returned from a 2.5 week business...
