I have created a basic music/streaming player on my website for my Icecast livestream and was wondering is there anyway to create more advanced player using HTML5 (or add something to my current player) that will display the meta-data...i.e. the artist and title? I am pushing out the meta-data...
OK, I got this figured out and for anyone else trying to accomplish this I will tell what I used. I used Icecast and B.U.T.T. Install Icecast and then run the console (which comes up like a DOS command prompt). You can edit the config file, which the main thing you need to change to begin with...
I didn't really see a section this fit into...so if it needs to be moved...please do so.
Is there a way to stream computer audio to the internet using just a local computer and something like Windows Media Player or some type of free option like that that will allow multiple people to connect...
I asked the tech at ASROCK about G.Skills and his answer was "no, do not use those". Go figure...don't know why, he just said not to use that brand for this board.
Is there going to be much of any real difference in 2400 vs 3000 DDR4 memory? The ASRock tech told me one he would recommend would be Corsair. I see 4 dual channel sets on Newegg...from 2400 to 3200. Of course the 2400 is the cheapest price wise...just curious if there is really any drastic...
Finally found the memory support list...took a while to track it down. If anyone else needs it for this board...here it is:

I have purchased a new ASRock Z270 KILLER SLI/AC LGA 1151 Intel Z270 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Motherboards - Intel and trying to decide on what memory to get.
Looking through Newegg I see a ton of DDR4 ram. I'm looking at the 2800 (that's about the sweet spot), but most all of that and a lot...
OK, well I finally decided to go with the ASRock Z270 Killer SLI/AC board. I got a $10.00 discount...so $129.99 wasn't a bad price and get all the features I need.

OK, down to a couple of Z270 boards around the $100+ range. Any thoughts on either of these? I assume either will do overclocking since they have the Z270 chipset and should work with my Kaby Lake cpu out of the box.
ASRock Z270 Pro...
Been looking at the board some already. So, you like it pretty well? Also, I looked at the images on Newegg and got a question...am I missing something...where are the SATA connections on the board? I'm not seeing any.
BlueFireIce,
Thanks for the suggestion on a board. Also, thanks for the explanation about the different chipsets...that's what I was looking for. Trying to find which ones DO NOT have to be updated. Looks like I need to go for at least a 250 board and avoid having to update. I'm seeing some...
Well, I got a good price on it (why buy a lower level cpu when I could get the K at about the same price) and I didn't say I would "never" overclock it...just have no plans to right now :) I have been reading a lot of reviews on Newegg and that seems to be the biggest complaint right now...a...
So, will any 1151 board work with the Kaby Lake chips (just may have to update the BIOS)...you just get less features if you don't go with a Z270?
Is there anyway to tell if a board actually has an updated BIOS and will work out of the box, without having to update the BIOS?
Well, sad to say, I really don't gaming anymore :( I know...that sucks...but just don't have the time. I played original PC Halo CE with my son about 2 weeks ago and that's been it. I'm just building a new pc to replace an older one (AMD Phenom II X6 1090T) and then moving the old one down the...
I'm not looking to overclocking, game or anything major. Just looking for a good budget to mid range board. Hopefully with an updated bios...ha! Is it a must to get the Z270 chipset?
Suggestions?
Just going to put it into a non-gaming machine. Just wondering if the on-chip graphics is stout enough to pull most everyday non-gaming stuff or if no matter if I will have to threw in a graphics card as well.
Yeah, it may have been this way for a while and maybe I was just thinking "on-board"...
OK, thanks! That's what I thought...but just making sure I understood it. So, they have moved away from true graphics chips "on" the motherboard and put them on the cpu. So, do the "on chip" graphics perform decent? My most current Intel cpu is an Ivy Bridge i7-7700...so I'm a bit behind the...
I am reading about the built-in HD graphics on the Intel processors...like the Kaby Lake and the Skylake...etc. Is this HD graphics the "on-board" video on the motherboard? Honest question...just trying to understand it. So, if the video is built into the processor, then if your board has on...
My ISP has modem/router boxes, but I like to run my own router. So, they allow me to do so. I am on Fiber and I have a static public IP address. Here's the problem.
The ISP gives me an IP address of 192.168.50.3 that comes from their router for me to put into my router as my router IP address...
How can I see my saved passwords in Windows 10 Edge? I have gone to Settings>View Advance Settings>Manage My Saved Passwords. When I click on "Manage My Saved Passwords" that right side box just goes completely blank...nothing in it. I hardly ever use IE or Edge, but had one program that...
This may not be in the exact right thread, but didn't know where else to put it.
I am looking for a way to stream live audio from one computer to another...an easy option. I know I can do this with Skype, but that is not really what I am looking for. I would like to be able to stream live audio...
You are fortunate then. I run my systems 24/7 also and probably the longest one has latest is just over a year. PNY seems to be the worst...8 months max.
Curious how that HD monitoring program you got works? All of the PNY and several of the others have simply died with no warning at all.
I know Western Digital markets the Black series for performance, but I am unable to find specs that tell me what the real difference is. I'm looking at a 1TB size and both are 7,200 RPM, 64 MB...etc. The Black series has a 5 years warranty and the Blue a 3 year. So, is there any real performance...
Never could find any solution to this problem. Called Microsoft they suggested just upgrade directly to free Windows 10...so that is what I am doing. Never seen a problem like that before.
I have a Dell Latitude E6510 that ran over 2013 updates and afterwards will not boot to the desktop. It will boot up and go to the automatic repair screen and cannot repair. I have tried everything I can think of and that I have found on Google. I have even restored it from the recovery...
I have downloaded Windows 7 SP1 and have it on a disc. But after a clean install on Windows 7 and installing SP1 it still comes up and finds 230 updates which takes forever. Is there a lump sum offline single download for all of those updates after SP1? I haven't found it yet if there is.
Thanks!
I have a little over three thousand songs (some I've ripped and some download so not all of them have full song information) that I need to categorize into slow, medium, and fast according to their tempo or speed of the song. I have been doing this manually...i.e. opening each song and listening...
OK, after a lot of digging I finally got it fixed. Someone had installed ZoneAlarm Internet Security and Avast both on the PC. I removed both of them but the problem was still there. Manually removed NIC drivers and did a new install of the driver and changed the LAN from Public to Home and...
Yep, disabled onboard NIC first thing. Also, have booted into Safe Mode numerous times with networking and same issue is there...no connectivity and red X on the network icon. I've used several network repair tools, that normally will fix issues, but none have worked so far. Will try and get the...
I have a Dell 560 pc and the onboard NIC stopped working. I get a yellow light when the CAT 5 cable is plugged in instead of a green light. So, I popped in a new NIC in the PCI slot and installed the drivers and everything shows OK in device manager and the lights on the NIC show green when the...
If this didn't land in the correct location feel free to move it.
Is there anyway to disable all these small boxed videos that all these websites have on the websites? When I go to some of these websites these videos will start playing and if I am working on something that I need to leave my...
