how does the step up program work? is it based on retail price?
edit: ok i just looked it up and it seems to only cover 3 months. I KNOW that i won't step up in that time. (I'm a casual/infrequent gamer and I RARELY play FPS). The main reason I'm getting this card is so that:
1. x264...
um.. maybe i'm getting this wrong but I think that the XFX double lifetime warranty wouldn't be any benefit to me. It means that if I sell it, the buyer would also get the lifetime warranty.
EVGA still has lifetime warranty but also a better RMA policy.
I'm trying to decide whether or not to pick up the ECS one at the egg which is $170 AR.
It's quite a jump up to reputable brands:
$210 for the EVGA OC'd
$220 for the XFX
I will be putting the Accelero ($35 at the egg)and I *might* be OCing it if case temps are low.
I think that's a chance that we all take with headphones. Don't worry, they're highly resellable or tradeable at head-fi if you decide that they're not right for you. I love my ATH-A900's very much and I would never give them up.
BTW, what kind of source do you have for music?
A couple things. Would you buy used?

Beyer's are good for bass, but I find them muddy without an amp.
I'd go with the 595's. DON'T buy the 555's. Save up if...

I'm particularly interested in a PS2. The only games I'm interested in are: Soul Calibur 2 and 3, Katamari, and any other fighting game but ONLY if it's packaged with the system. Otherwise, just...

or:
a maching pair of
1GB PC3200 SODIMM. (especially if you're willing to trade down to 1gb or 2x256mb)
Latency is not a priority. PM me or email me at
