I decided to clean up my office and move the computer off the floor. So I took a hacksaw to the my old FT02 case, saved the motherboard tray and went to town on my IKEA desk. I extended the back of the left shelving by 2 inches, cut holes and closed it off with a plexiglass door. There is still...
Killed my FT02 and decided to change it up for 2016. I still need to finish cable management, paint some more items and add an MSI SLI bridge. This was a fun weekend project and I was surprised at how well it stayed cool under benchmarks.
This is my first season session. I did get bored with the standard game and wanted to try new skills. It gives us something to do outside the normal. Paragon levels and rifts are out of control on Season 4. I'm already at paragon 400 and I dont play every day.
I was on site for the launch and watched it go up, everyone cheered then was like "ohhh".
However, I am split on the private vs government space program. I learned today that the FAA will be governing all manned flights by contract providers. I worked in the airline industry for 10 years, the...
I am currently running an Acer 4k G-Sync monitor with 970 SLI. I run Call of Duty advanced warfare at a constant 58 FPS without issue.
Settings are at
High (haven't tried ultra yet)
I found that running at constant 60Hz cause micro stutters with...
I will be coming from a Samsung S27A950D, which is 120Hz. So not sure how the 60hz will feel in games, but I thought g-sync resolves some of the need for higher refresh rates.
That Acer XB280HK is looking really nice, newegg is about to get acer money if this Asus ROG doesn't come in stock.
I'm about to place the order for the following items.
Acer XB280HK bprz Black 28" 1ms 4K Widescreen LED Backlight G-sync
2x MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G GeForce GTX 970 for SLI...
I tend to upgrade when I can trick the wife in to believing my computer has broken or slowing down. Haswell is a good 4-6 months out, so I would probably lean toward the now.
As for screen issues, I have noticed freezing or pausing when playing some game; not sure if it is windows 8 or the...
As the title reads.
Should I drop the FX-8120 and grab the i5-3570K?
I mainly play games and have an Asus GTX680 DC2T, so performance in most games is fine. I just wonder if I would be better suited to go with the i5 for games that are more processor intensive.
I can easily sell my...
As the title says.
I currently run two 6950s in crossfire.
Well I'm down to 1 now that the VRM blew on the second.
So I have to replace the unit from eBay for approximately $200.
Put the other 6970 in my HTPC and jump on a Geforce 680GTX instead.
Need some advice.
I mainly play games on my 6950s crossfire setup.
I can still return my S27A950D and pick up some Dell U2312HM for eyefinity.
The price will be about the same, so that's not the issue.
I do enjoy the 3D on some games, but am worried about the growing light bleed in...
I run the S27A950D as my primary and an older 20 Dell as my vent/steam monitor. I have not noticed any eye issues on switching back and forth. I do see the obvious "drag lag" now between the 60 and 120 monitor. Dragging a window on the 20 inch has a slower responsiveness, whereas the 120 moves...
I third the S27A950D!
Had it for a week now and going from a Hanns G 28 to this is simply amazing. The color, contrast and clarity are great.
I do have a slight bleed on the bottom right like everyone else, I think all the S27 series suffer this.
Equalizr: Sorry yea they are 6950 and the shim is around the GPU already.
I have the unit on my desk approximately 2 feet away and I rarely see dust in the case; so the fan filter cleaning isn't an issue to me.
Idle temps now at 27 on GPU1 and 32 on GPU2.
The temp variation is due to the idle...
After spotting the postings two weeks back about zip tie fitting the antec/corsair closed loop coolers to various cards I decided to take the plunge. *Thank you HardOCP*
I ordered two Antec H2O 620 units for $120 - $30 in amazon reward points, $90 bucks for water cooling.
I had the various...
No, I cut the USB 2.0 cable out and un-soldered the housing.
There are not enough lanes in the existing board to support 3.0.
I simply used the existing board as a base, the USB 3.0 was still attached directly to the cable that came with the Asrock bracket.
The Asrock Extreme6 comes with a front USB bracket and 3.0 header on the board, so I did not have to route back to the I/O plate.
The USB and Mic bracket of the FT02 are held on by two screws, easily removed.
You will need to un-solder the existing USB 2.0 housing from the board. I...
First, the case was designed for either. Hence the reason it comes with radiator adapter for the 180mm fans.
800D = floor standing coffee table.
The FT02 case fit my 20" height requirement to fit on top of my desk.
Plus the case rarely has a spec of dust in it due to the...
