ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 Ti $999.99

It absolutely has to do with the lack of competition. Look at CPU prices for an example of what a competitive market looks like. Intel has had to lower prices across most of their line but especially the recent Cascade Lake-X (40-50% the cost of prior gen) because of threadripper and new Ryzen cpus.

Loque Ghost S1 with 3900X Recommendations (Thermal issues)

You may have to look at undervolting the 3900x. The X52 shouldn't be that much different than the H100i. Your other option would be custom loop.

    ASUS ROG 2

Looks like very few LTE bands on it for US markets. Which seems crazy really. AT&T is your only option.

    iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11s? (est Sep 10th reveal)

I'm going to be switching back to an iPhone from a Pixel 3. Pixel 3 was great at first, but have started running into a host of issues. Phone seems to overheat easily. That in turn causes performance to degrade terribly. Wife's phone constantly has troubles connecting to US Cellular network...

    iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11s? (est Sep 10th reveal)

Yea, he did pay $1100 but he got an XS for "free" for 6 months plus he will gain a few hundred more in the extra resale value of the 11. Still a worthwhile deal.

You underestimate the number of people with disposable income that just want the best and an extra $250 doesn't mean much.

A little on the large side but looks like a solid case for air cooling.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Wonder if there are G1/4 plugs that are slim enough to use in the top and still have the grill sit flush.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

That looks really great. Maybe I'll stop being lazy and doing a hardline in my Ghost. Soft tubing build is great in it. Are those custom PSU cables?

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

I finally completed my Ghost S1 build. Watercooled with 2 large top hats and 2x240mm rads. Similar to the Jay build. Got to say, it's pretty wonderful. I have a i9-9900k and 2080 ti in it and it runs dead silent at idle and barely spins up at load. This is overclocked as well (4.9GHz all core)...

Locking Out Law Enforcement Is an 'Unintended Side Effect' of New Android Security

I disagree, even the "secure" manner in which we access phones can be hacked. Which is why companies are continually making it more secure. And I also disagree that corporations should be giving back doors to governments. This goes for the US just as much as it does for China or Iran. If China...

Locking Out Law Enforcement Is an 'Unintended Side Effect' of New Android Security

The issue is that devices are either secure or not secure. If Google is going to create a back door for accessing devices that same back door can be used by hackers. Also, do you really want corporations putting in back doors for the government? Personally, I want my device to be as secure as...

Facebook Employees Panic After Apple Revokes the Company's Enterprise Certificate

Facebook was in a pretty big breach of their enterprise certificate. That certificate is only supposed to be used for apps distributed to internal employees. They were using it to distribute apps to consumers. They deserve what they got. I don't think this has much to do with data collections.

    New Zen 2 Leak

I bet you're at least 6 years away from seeing any tangible FPS difference between pcie 3 and 4. Hell, you barely see a difference between 8x and 16x pci-e 3.0 right now.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Exactly, the fact hot air rises has almost zero impact on how you should setup your fans. The impact of fans, even at low RPMs, completely negates the effect of hot air's natural movement.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Nope, which is good. I'm planning a 2080 ti / 9900k custom loop hardline build once I get my wave 2 case so we'll see how that goes.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Poor contact between heatspreader and waterblock plus his liquid was gelling up between the microfins of the block. I think the later had more of an impact. He lapped the IHS, block, cleaned it out, and changed the liquid and all was well.

    i7-7700k Vs Ryzen 7 2700x

Zen 2 is at least 5 months away. I would say moving to 2700x makes almost no sense unless you're doing quite a bit of video editing. I have a 7700k and IX Hero as well. You upgrades really are Zen 2 or the new i9s which I doubt it worth it either.
