Make sure you are running the latest BIOS and have all drivers and system updates installed.
WHEA errors are typically due to unstable RAM or CPU. If you have any manual overclocks set then try pulling back to stock settings and test. If that doesn't help then you can try:
Disable PBO
Disable...
Assuming I have valid reasons to do so what is the link speed when running a single GPU in the system and having it reside in the second PCIE16x slot?
The manual doesn't adequately explain this and shows 'NA' for this configuration.
I've read conflicting info on whether this would be 4x or 8x...
It was on steam. The disconnects were such an annoyance that we ended up setting difficulty back to the easiest setting just to get past a couple spots in the game that longer than others. When you get dropped it makes you restart the whole segment and not just restoring from your last checkpoint.
Sapphire nitro + 6800xt. Pushing clocks much higher resulted in successful passes of 3dmark however I could not loop it for more than 5-10 mins. These settings were much more stable.
$649 is the lowest I've paid recently for a 6800xt and that was a reference card on a stock drop.
You'll find one for $600 eventually. Sometime in 2023 perhaps. lol
I've seen a 1299$ and $1319 6800XT in stock for multiple days recently. Sapphire pulse and gigabyte windforce. Both are decent graphics cards. You have to pay attention but they are out there.
I've also gotten several cards off the AMD stock drops on Thursdays. Yes I mine with them. Yes I don't...
Recently finished halo 2 co-op which was fun except for the gdam server disconnects which were at times rage inducing. Going to start halo 3 soon, possibly Sunday, and will try co-op on that one too. They really did a great job of enhancing halo 2 graphics in the cutscenes and in the game. Was...
I could be wrong here but I think that was a bit of a blip. Previous to that interest rates were higher but not double digit territory for the most part. What we've seen in more recent times is pretty consistent rock bottom rates forcing everyone out of savings.
These are the same sorts of goofballs that end up getting over extended and holding on until the bottom to end up with nothing. If you can't keep a fresh perspective then playing with individual equities, especially with more than you can afford to lose, is gasoline and matches waiting to...
When it comes to projects like this they fluctuate wildly. If you want, keep after it, since it may go back up. I've been setting my two ryzens on haven for a while and am just leaving them there. It's my speculative bet and the algo is pretty efficient to mine on cpu.
I've mined xmr on...
Since it seems to overclock very well I'd keep it and just either use some paint and a model brush or a black permanent marker to help fill in the chips for now. Better than leaving it like that.
I traded a asus tuf 6700xt straight across for a reference 5700xt. I did this trade at the time for the better mining performance of the latter. This sort of blew up in my face a bit as the reference card I got didn't overclock well nor was the bios flash stable on it. Ended up taking it back...
No sir, there is not universal agreement even around these parts. Keep hoping.
lol rotting in hell and wives divorcing them sounds like you're pretty upset. Might be time to take a breather.
If you think more than 25% are going to miners then it's on you to prove it. Otherwise, speculatory. If you can, then great, I still don't really care (much) if they are. The cards are available and have been, they are expensive.
They've been OOS since release due to supply not being able to...
What little information we do have is that 75% of them went to gamers and 25% to miners. Based on that, one group most certainly was very willing to pay those prices. But it may not be the group you were expecting.
As for me anyway, I don't really care. If you have the means and want one...
Not really. They're talking about gamers there who mine on the side. Which describes a fair few of them these days. Or are they now Satan himself too just like the filthy gdamned miners?
Some would say it's already a niche hobby and has always been so to one degree or another. Going off past history the shortage will subside eventually one way or another. If that's wrong and it's permanent it is hard to know for sure what the effect would be long term. There are some people...
Have you considered knitting or baking cookies?
It isn't just GPUs that are hard to get right now and IMO part of why AMD cards are in short supply is because of PS5 production chewing up wafers. Hard to blame miners for that though I'm sure someone will find a way.
Not every PC gamer has been buying cards for '25 years'. My first graphics card was a EGA 16 color option on a PC XT. So I fall into the camp of those that have been at this for a while.
I still don't feel entitled to first dibs at a certain price on graphics cards. They are available, I...
People got stimulus checks here in the states for $1200 in some cases. That right there would nearly pay for a scalped 6800xt card. If you were working and got one of those checks then it would be a 'free' card for you or close to it.
It seems like PC gamers have this entitlement mentality...
Noticed that too. Thing is huge lol.
That said even my powercolor 5700xt has a 2.5 slot design and my asus tuf 5600xt is a 2.7 slot. Going over 2 slot designs has been a thing for a while now.
I never understood x-fire and sli when those cards would be sandwiched so close together on most...
I mean if you're really that sure of yourself then I would assume you have invested at this point because if you haven't then you're letting an opportunity walk away from you.
No doubt it does. Miners get about 25% of the cards, gamers around 75%. At this point since the supply is so constrained any pressure is going to aggravate the situation.
I suppose the answer to one degree or another is both. You can make a lot of money and lose your shirt too on speculating. Many people have, and have done so with equities too. Not all equities pay dividends either and let's not even joke about interest rates at this point lol. You can buy...
Looks great OP. I have the cooler master on my lian li pc-011 xl. My only complaint is that it isn't perfectly straight and has a slight sag to it. That and the cable was only pci-e 3.0 which is dumb.
It's not going to happen until Q1 of next year now. The devs have said as much. Too much work left to be done for it to make December.
People think they are going to just switch over to ETC, ERG, and RVN. They have this idea that those projects will suddenly have a massive surge in market...
I've tried 3 times now to get something at their sales event and so far have been unsuccessful. If you want a 6800 or better then you will need to be let into the store from the queue within 4 minutes or less to have a chance. Ideally, 2 minutes or less.
So far my lowest wait time has been...
I don't know if it's true. I've heard that some people who were out of work, either voluntarily or not, have not been making house payments for over a year. Since they were out, supposedly due to covid, they are expecting that they will be bailed out or at least given a pass by the bank on...
https://www.pcgamer.com/cryptominers-grabbed-25-of-all-gpus-at-the-start-of-2021/
The commercial outfits are the biggest share of the mining demand pie, and it was 25%. Gamers are getting the majority unless shown otherwise at this point. Regarding contradiction, not really. 25% of global...
Gamers buy 75% of the cards, so are getting the majority of supply.
Once eth goes proof of stake all your prayers will be answered at the end of the year. GPUs will rain from the sky and if you aren't hung up on some ridiculous notion that a mined with card is 'burned out' you'll be able to...
Multi-faceted situation. At this point GPUs are still hard to get though there have been some signs of decreasing price trends. Some of the older GPUs are dropping in price for example on ebay. 5600xt cards were $900+ a few months ago and they've dropped by over 20% at this point and are...
