actually I have 3 pc's ;)
I've tried it and 1920x1080 but there is really no difference if any I see. With the lower 1280x720p which is my displays resolution I can use sharpening and cubic in ffdshow, at higher resolutions I can't.
the answer is there. DVI is no go for overscan. VGA and Component can eliminate overscan but you loose 1:1 pixel mapping. Thats a brief summary. I stretch my task bar to twice width and resize windows accordingly works for me. I do have pics with settings and all at my site.
Look me up over at AVSFORUM, I go by Dallas_Jose there just click my sig to see what my HTPC does.
Seriously most HTPC people only use pvr or dvd for their computer and thats ok. I think HTPC means all the components not just a box that has been modded or stripped with a pvr card added.
Though I'm not sure about that post, yes HDTV's today can look very good.
My pics with overscan and all
I'll try to get some doom3 shots on my puny 50" screen
I posted this is general mayhem but what the heck.
The sound in this game is awesome. It needs a subwoofer too. You have to play it very loud and in 5.1 to truely appreciate it. You can hear things breathing around you as you peer around the corner, you have only 16 life left. You look around...
