That's the problem. I live in a town w/3 computer stores. 1 refused to run memtest saying that if it boots its fine, 1 works with businesses only and the last 1 only has sdram machines. Ugh, Craptown, TX.
I asked a coworker to test if for me but that fell through so for now I'm stuck...
I've slowly been upgrading my system below. 3 weeks ago I went from a Duron 1ghz to an Athlon XP 2400. About half a week ago I took out my two 256mb sticks of generic pc133 ram and replaced them with a single stick of 512mb PC2100 Viking ram. Since then I've gotten a few intermittent BSOD's...
32mb and 64mb sticks of PC100 now available for trade/giveaway. Also, this thread is going to Anandtech and Ars tonight so jump on this stuff if you see something you want.
Jaw, I'm also looking for the following:
Cordless Phone
Caller ID unit
Answering Machine
A combo unit would be great.
If you don't like that, how's four games from my list sound?
EDIT
I'm also looking for an S-Video cable, computer fans, and PS2 games.
Jaw,
An envelope with your name and address on it and stamps affixed. The envelope should be durable enough for me to mail a jewel case in. I'll give you both games. If nothing else, you could "get" HL and play opposing force in single player (which is actually fun).
Throw in some blank...
Sorry but 60mhz gives me a headache. What item are you interested in? Also, I live in Nacogdoches now but often take trips to Houston. So Houston related stuff (odd gift certificates, event admission, etc) is welcome.
Here's the deal. I have some old games and hardware that aren't really worth my trouble to Ebay as they'll only pull in a few bucks a piece but I consider them to be high quality. I know that not everyone has money or hardware to trade so there are three
ways you can get this stuff.
1...
I was really hoping for 1) 1 stick and 2)cheaper as http://www.shop.kingston.com/0104kvr/default.asp?bannersource=anandsaleortrade is what I'm currently looking at. Thanks for the bump. Anyone?
I'm about to do a reinstall and am considering xp as an option. I've used 2k for years and *love* it. However, I use xp at work but feel like the interface is a bit clunky (gui philosophy, not the gui itself).
Considering my current familiarity with 2k and the performance benefits of 2k is...
Interested in buying 512mb of pc2100 or better RAM for $40 shipped.
Doesn't have to be special, just not have any errors and run stable at 266mhz.
1 stick of 512mb is preferred but I could do with two sticks of 256mb as well.
All offers for cheap pc2100 considered.
