But sometimes cheap also lasts too. Case in point. My 10+ year old Staples Hyken. $140 chair btw.
Not a single thing wrong with it aside from some cracking on the rubber arm rests.
No back problems to report but I'm probably jinxing myself by saying this.
Every single year I look at this chair and consider buying but the responsible adult in me prevents me from doing so. I just can't get over that price, even at 25% off. It's pretty much equivalent to buying a Gucci product and I don't think I could ever forgive myself for that.
Thanks chameleoneel! I ended up paying with zip on newegg which brought the price down to $319.
I also found out that Best Buy doesn't price match in the Black Friday / Cyber Monday time period, so even if Microcenter did drop to $300 between now and Monday, I wouldn't be able to get a price...
From what I read, that discount doesn't apply if the item already has a promo attached (Avatar)

Welp, it's officially black friday and the price didn't drop. Whomp.
What do we think? Pull the trigger at $350 or hope that cyber monday is the day that it drops?
My concern is that the price goes back up after today.
There's a comparison of the Peerless Assassin SE vs. non-SE here:
https://pcanalytics.com/product/coolers/compare/thermalright/peerless-assassin-120-se/thermalright/peerless-assassin-120/
I don't know how accurate this website is. But the SE seems to be a tad bit better despite being smaller.
It's getting very tempting... Must resist buying until Friday at least (or maybe cyber Monday).
Is the Best Buy price match a sure thing? Even if you don't have a Microcenter nearby?
Seems like most retailers are down to $369 now. Newegg even cheaper at $359. Your move Microcenter. You're supposed to be cheaper than other retailers.
It's the age old question of "should I wait or should I upgrade". There's always going to be something new on the horizon. In this case the 5090 is probably at least a year away. Even when it does release, what are the odds of getting one with all the scalpers scooping them up as usual?
I'm...
Something like this. Notice how the straight lines get a little bendy when nearing the left edge of the lens. They also get pulled closer together. As if the lens is a bit convex (or concave?) at the extreme left.
As compared to my first headset which didn't warp the lines at all:
For which issue? The warping at the edge of the lens? All I need to do is look near the left-most edge of the lens and see that it's bending light enough to warp the image. Whereas my first headset doesn't do that at all. Image stays uniform / unwarped all the way to the edge.
I'm so friggin bummed about how there's so much quality variance between headsets.
My first one had 2 stuck pixels, one right in the middle of the screen. Also some annoying mura.
Second one had no stuck pixels and the mura was minimal. I thought I had won lotto. But nope!
Soon I noticed that...
I feel like they need a better marketing team. There's gotta be more impressive footage than some crouching animations and slowly wading through water. It looks good but come on, we need something more exciting. Even the music here is meh.
I feel like I spent 5 hours in Forsaken Fen. The level design in this game is really intricate. So many alternative and hidden paths. It's an explorer's dream.
That being said, I'd be ok with never seeing another swamp area in a video game again. I'm over it.
They really need to do something about the crashing. Forsaken Fen has been a super unstable area for me. I crashed numerous times just exploring and once in the middle of a boss fight. Still greatly enjoying the game but this is putting a damper on things.
This game is AWESOME. It's pretty much Dark Souls 4. The most souls-like of any souls-like out there.
Pieta was such a cool first boss. Reminded me very much of Malenia, thankfully without the waterfowl dance.
I hope it keeps up this early game quality throughout.
I went from Elden Ring to DS3 and it felt identical to me aside from jumping. I don't see how anybody would have trouble adjusting from Elden Ring to DS3. You might miss torrent a bit but that's about it.
Why? Is it actually causing you physical distress like headaches or something?
Or is it a psychological "I paid thousands of dollars for this hardware and I refuse to deal with peasant frame rates" kind of thing?
That's my concern too. Looks more like a wallpaper generator than a game. Hoping to be proven wrong🤞
I'd love to see a NMS / Starfield type game where you can actually build on the planets. Like actual freeform building (and digging) in a Minecraft sense. And as you travel from planet to planet...
What if you're rolling for an ability point? There's at least one conversation in the game that leads to an ability point being granted, but it's gated by a dice roll. I had to save scum on that one, because there ain't no way I'm giving up an ability point.
If you click and hold the mouse button your character will follow your cursor and the camera will follow your character. That's my preferred method of traversal.
hmm... Good to know. I'm gonna try to play fair for now, but I may try this out if things get too frustrating. I'm fighting a minotaur right now and he's literally knocked down and unconcious and somehow my melee attacks still miss. How??
Can anyone recommend a guide on how to be effective in combat?
My experience thus far has been:
Miss!
Miss!
Miss!
Even when it says 90% hit percentage... Miss!
Bow and arrow aimed point blank at an enemies head... Miss!
It's so frustrating. Even on the easiest difficulty I'm getting destroyed.
This game passes time like no other. I thought Zelda was the game where you're like: "I'm going to play for one hour" and then 6 hours later you're like "oops, it's 4 in the morning". But this game takes the cake. You can spend hours just conversing in one small area of the game because there's...
As someone who never played a CRPG or DnD, I feel very overwhelmed with this game. Combat makes no sense to me. Half of my options always seem to be grayed out, particularly the ranged stuff like spells. So I feel like the only thing I can do is inch forward towards an enemy and then take a...
hmm... So I navigated to WD through paypal deals just to be safe and also activated bing cashback as you said. Confirmed that the bing sidebar said "you're earning up to 5% back storewide". Completed my order and I don't see any paypal points or bing points.
PayPal says "This is a temporary...
The crashing has gotten so much worse for me. The very first time I played the demo I managed to get a 20 minute stretch where it was crash free. But now it's crashing instantly. Load up my save, walk 5 steps or so, game completely locks up.
Just got the full game today in hopes that it would...
FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU... Looks like some users are still getting crashes with the full game:

Is it possible that this game is pushing the PS5...
Game is only rated 88 what a pile of garbage PS5 is going on ebay
;) Looking forward to playing! Assuming it doesn't lock up my PS5 every 2 minutes like the demo did.
