It's my understanding that AM5 platforms don't gain any significant benefit from RAM speeds over DDR5-6000, and rather than trying to raise clocks you should stay at 6000 and try to tighten timings instead.
7800X3D, Thermalright 240mm AIO, GIGABYTE B650I AORUS Ultra, 32GB DDR5-6000 (or faster), 7900XT or 4070Ti/4080 depending on budget and preference. That will destroy an Xbox. (I'd say 7900XTX but the 700w probably won't be enough...)
The other cases would be smaller but your cost would be...
I mean, yeah, you can build in something like the Lian Li A4-H2O, NZXT H1 v2, or Hyte Revolt 3 (very good deal on it right now, $108 with a good quality 700w SFX PSU).
Found a full Index kit locally for a good price, supposed to meet the guy some time this week. Assuming I'm not robbed or murdered I'll give that a shot. If I like it I'll sell the PSVR2 and BizLink adapter to offset the cost, if the headset doesn't do it for me but the PSVR2 is better I can...
I got it for $200 from a friend, it made her sick but was fine for me playing on her PS5. Yes, I could have picked up a Quest 2 or 3, and there are regularly Valve Index full kits for around $600 used near me, but I really want OLED displays.
$200 for the headset (and maybe the controllers work...
Basically, I've got a PSVR2 (and no PS5) and hope to use it on PC with the upcoming iVRy driver, which the creator is planning to release before end of year. Already have a BizLink adapter on the way and have been promised one of the converters needed to get it working as a Patron. Great!
The...
MUSHes and MUDs growing up.
More recently it would be Destiny 2, if we're talking the last few years. Probably 4000 hours between PS4 at launch and PC more recently. The last expansion was terrible so I've dropped way back. Will probably get The Final Shape eventually, just to see "the end"...
Saw a headset and controllers on local Facebook, they were dirty and I guess that's why no one bought at $300 (it was listed for a while) so the guy went down to $200...
I don't own a PS5. I don't even know anyone locally that has one. I thought (wrongly) that iVRy had a PSVR2 driver for Steam...
Responding to a thread where someone asks for a card to run "everything on ultra at 4k" with "my card is fine at 4k, people are telling you to spend too much" when most of your games are like 10 years old makes very little sense.
It's a 5800X3D, so no, not really.
Cyberpunk is the worst, but Alan Wake 2 is going to be worse (granted even the 4090 isn't acceptable there) and I have a bad feeling that trend will continue.
Eh, not like it's that unusual at this point. Not saying I'd be happy about it, but if they released some kind of PC special edition I doubt I'd be alone in grabbing it.
Still getting CTD with a driver time out post patch with the latest AMD Adrenalin drivers. Pretty much every race, at the "race rewards" screen. Same behavior from day one. Plays fine otherwise - 70-90FPS at 4K native, everything maxed. Frustrating - I enjoy the game but am not willing to sit...
I would happily pay $90 for a Bloodborne remaster PC release, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this. Sony is leaving money on the table and I don't understand why at this point - it would be one thing if they were making a remaster or new game in series for the PS5, but that seems unlikely at this...
Yeah, when I bought it second hand in the mid 2000s my HP P1110 (Sony Trinitron rebrand) 21" CRT was like... $650? And again, that was used, from a neighbor down the street.
I was in highschool and it was the most money I'd ever spent on any single thing at the time - about $1000 adjusted for...
Short answer, everything else looks like trash.
I'm not going to get a headache from an ancient CRT and I'm not dealing with smearing from VA panels, IPS contrast makes things gray or has terrible backlight halos. OLED is the only acceptable currently available display technology. Yes, having...
Sadly this hasn't been my experience. I'm running in to major issues with HDR and hardware acceleration / video decoding with the 7900 XTX I never had with the previous RTX 2080. Expecting YouTube and Amazon Prime Video HDR to work properly with a $1000 GPU and a TV that has worked without issue...
Wouldn't wish the 7900 XTX on anyone. Even if you don't care about Raytracing or HDR it's been nothing but weird driver issues and crashes with this thing. My first AMD card in like 15 years, and it'll probably be about that long before I give them another chance.
Mostly the Tensor G3. The G2 is certainly an improvement over the original (I had a 6a before - actually still have it boxed) but I'd love if it were a little quicker and ran a bit cooler. I haven't had any major issues, but I'd rather not have to worry about it.
Worst comes to worst I do have another larger ITX case I can put everything in. Used to have a huge Phanteks dual tower cooler, too, but I have no idea where it is right now. Probably got tossed or lost in the move. The other case doesn't require a riser. Don't think the riser is causing an...
The radiator pulls from the front of the motherboard and the GPU chamber. I'm thinking about finding some closed cell foam to cut out a duct and reduce turbulence on the GPU side.
Yes, I know it's not the best possible PSU, but the whole build pulls 600, maybe 650 watts at full tilt with the...
CPU hits 80C in Cinebench, not games - haven't seen it go past like 77C in game, and that's only the Cyberpunk benchmark running path tracing, everything else I've tried it runs a little cooler, low 70s. I also went to a -30 PBO, so hopefully that will help. Haven't done any testing since, but...

Everything but the PSU is accurate - I have the Lian Li 850w SFX, they didn't have it listed.
I've been working on it and think everything is pretty much sorted, thanks in large part to help from people over on TechPowerUp and here. I've been out of this...
I'm running audio in to the TV via HDMI and out via SPDIF to a DAC... so it's not using ARC, unless I'm really misunderstanding something. Never had any issues with the RTX 2080 (or a GTX 1070) but have issues with the 7900 XTX. Pretty sure it's an AMD thing, not the TV. The card doesn't...
Thanks for the idea - also disabled that and reinstalled current driver, same behavior. Downgrading to 23.9.1 brings the control panel back. It also eliminated the shortcut from the desktop right click menu, so I guess they changed something between 23.9.1 and 23.9.2 that breaks it on my...
I was under the impression the X570 drivers were bundled with the Ryzen Master installer, but I'll grab them from there and set up a spare monitor to keep an eye on things, thanks.
Not at all happy with AMD right now - this is my first non-Nvidia card in like 15 years and at the rate we're...
I don't have any echoes, just drop outs (complete silence) usually lasting about 1-2 seconds each. They tend to come in groups, 2 or 3 fairly close together, then it'll be fine for a while, sometimes as much as an hour, to the point I think it has solved itself.
I could run a USB sound card or...
