Arstechnica: The Mandalorian was shot on a holodeck-esque set with Unreal Engine, video shows

Anamorphic lenses are not soft focused. Star Wars is not a movie with shallow focus at all. Basically every single shot in Star Wars has deep focus. Using shallow focus extensively is a more modern technique which allows everybody to be lazy because they don't have to worry about anything other...

Arstechnica: The Mandalorian was shot on a holodeck-esque set with Unreal Engine, video shows

Very cool tech. I haven't seen the show, but in the video nearly all of the shots were quite shallow focused, which probably helps them out a lot. That way, the background graphics really don't even have to be very good for it to look believable, since they'll be way out of focus anyway.

Tesla disables feature after car is purchased, claims feature 'wasn't paid for'.

Just wait until all cars are like this. It should come as no surprise that governments are pressing high tech electric cars across the globe. Once the car is synced with your government social credit profile the possibilities are endless. Gps tracking, facial recognition of driver and...

The Witcher | Official Teaser | Netflix

This new trailer looks a lot better than the previous one. Are they hiding the black girl that plays Triss to keep the anti-SJW comments to a minimum? I don't think I saw her this time.

2011 Failures in NASA's Taurus XL rocket: fake metal

The article says the launch failures cost $700 million but the company settled for $46 million. The IRS will audit the shit out of you over comparably trivial amounts, but this company that is demonstrably and admittedly guilty is let off for 15 cents on the dollar.

YouTube TV prices will raise to $50

Ditch cable because it's too expensive. Go to streaming services and find that the a la carte pricing adds up to more than you paid for cable. Also, you still have your internet bill which is cheaper when bundled with cable. And there's still nothing to watch!

Captain Marvel Will Lead the MCU, Kevin Feige Says

Every MCU movie is the exact same paint-by-numbers filmmaking-by-committee stupid cgi fest. Also, they're all at least 20 minutes too long. You can only remake the same movie for so long.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 Will Require a Constant Internet Connection

Robocall Firm Is Facing a $37.5 Million Fine from FCC for Spoofing Consumer Numbers

Russia’s Answer to Tesla: The Kalashnikov CV-1

I think it looks good except for the rear. If they just shortened the back end and copied the rear end of most modern hatchbacks, it would look pretty cool. Less storage space though. The prototype is also missing mirrors... I guess because nobody seems to use them in Russia anyway.

Hunt Down the Freeman in 3 Weeks

I'm a fan of basically all HL2 mods and custom campaigns. There's no gameplay presented in the video so it's too early to judge. Also, there is no price listed on the steam store. It's possible it will be released for free. Did anybody notice the 60gb install?
