LG plugs NVIDIA G-Sync into its 2019 OLED TVs

It depends on the games for me. For example, I played Control at a lower resolution because I felt like the ray tracing made a bigger difference in atmosphere than the increased resolution. Rocket League also gets a special dispensation for me running at 1440p 120hz. That game really doesn't...

Red Dead Redemption 2 Coming to PC November 5th

This is certainly true - the world building is truly something special. I just wish it didn't play so kludgy. I started playing RDR2 after just finishing Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War and it felt downright oppressive to actually "play" in comparison. With that said, I may still purchase it...

LG plugs NVIDIA G-Sync into its 2019 OLED TVs

I went through a calibration exercise with the isf Expert (Bright Room) mode using Calman with an i1display pro when I first got the b7. The initial calibration was actually quite good and it only required small tweaks that were hardly noticeable. I always have lighting on in the living room as...

LG plugs NVIDIA G-Sync into its 2019 OLED TVs

This is more or less what I have been waiting for. I currently have two of the recent best "gaming" monitors and I still spend most of my time playing on my OLED. This is just the cherry on top for me.

I appreciate the enthusiasm. I am just surprised that no one posted pictures of the infamous chroma subsampling test at various resolutions. https://www.rtings.com/images/test-materials/2017/chroma-444.png

HOT: Samsung 2018 55" "BFGD" 120hz @ 1440p with HDR CHEAP @ 799.99 or, Open Box $679 Best Buy ht

I don't personally have it so I was basing it off of rtings comments and some posts I have read. Owner's like yourself would certainly know better. Is that information out of date or are they saying you can display it correctly in PC mode? It is certainly possible that it was fixed with...

HOT: Samsung 2018 55" "BFGD" 120hz @ 1440p with HDR CHEAP @ 799.99 or, Open Box $679 Best Buy ht

Some interesting newer options out there at this point. The new Samsung TV's (Q90 series) seem to support 1440p @ 120hz (but not in 4:4:4) which is similar to the one recommended here. It also now natively supports 4K @ 120hz even without an HDMI 2.1 device present. The C9 OLED range natively...

Is a 5Ghz Ryzen Cpu coming?

I appreciate how you hand picked bits and pieces of my post when I addressed literally everything you wanted to rant about. I would really prefer that you reread my post as I think you missed some of the details. 1. Majority does not mean "everyone" 2. I specifically outlined a simple scenario...

Is a 5Ghz Ryzen Cpu coming?

That is what amuses me about this comparison. I suspect that the majority of the people justifying a Ryzen 3xxx purchase based on IPC mostly just play games. If you try to bring that up, they get incredibly defensive and claim that you see zero gains at x resolution or x settings when the Intel...

HWUB:Radeon RX 5700 XT Overclocked, RTX 2080-Like Performance?

Yes, he is definitely a troll and should be ignored. Well said - we knew that AMD was going to target the mid range and they settled in well. Hopefully they can bring some pricing competition to the top end in the future so I don't have to sell my remaining kidney for the next top end card.

Poll: AMD RX 5700 Series vs NVidia RTX Super. Which gets your money?

This whole thread is just so bizarre. Typically companies do a better job of hiring more believable "social media influencers" :ROFLMAO: I will be sitting out the AMD GPU party for a while since I don't tend to buy mid range GPUs. The AMD processors on the other hand...

New AMD Navi RX 3080 "XT"- "Pro" / 3070 Info

HOT ! Various 1TB NVMe with coveted E12 Controller $135 aprox retail

I can only say that I tried and was not successful. Could be a knowledge issue, but every relevant post I found while searching was in relation to advanced format drives (which also support 512e).

HOT ! Various 1TB NVMe with coveted E12 Controller $135 aprox retail

All of the issues I mentioned above with the Sabrent 2TB were immediately resolved with the EX950 2TB drive. For the time I wasted on troubleshooting issues that I was not sure were related to the lack of 512e, I could have bought several EX950's. Hopefully you guys have better luck.

HOT ! Various 1TB NVMe with coveted E12 Controller $135 aprox retail

I am sending my Sabrent 2TB back and I ordered an HP EX950 2TB instead. In my experience, the software just isn't ready for this in my use cases. It was more expensive by a decent margin. The Sabrent was on sale for $288 and the EX950 was around $350.

HOT ! Various 1TB NVMe with coveted E12 Controller $135 aprox retail

    - Cloning definitely did not work for me. I have read claims that there is software that can handle it, but I didn't find any that were free to use. Windows image backup and restore also errored even though I read reports of people saying it worked - Proxmox did not like this drive and refused...

HOT ! Various 1TB NVMe with coveted E12 Controller $135 aprox retail

That is what I am trying to determine - hopefully someone with the Inland can run my command and fill us in. Not having 512e support is a pain in the ass. I have the Sabrent Rocket 2TB and it has caused numerous problems for me.

Can someone with the Inland verify if this is native 4k or or 4K with 512e support? If you are on windows you can run this command (replace c with whatever your drive name is): Fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo c: If Linux is your flavor (change nvme0n1 to your drive signature): cat...

Boneworks Has the Physics Underpinnings to Be a Next Generation VR Masterpiece

There is an open source initiative that uses the Kinect along with VR to do full body tracking. It isn't perfect, but it is decent for the cheap price of a second hand Kinect. You can also buy individual sensors for something like the Vive that you can attach to whatever you want. At this...

    Radeon 7 (Vega 2, 7nm, 16GB) - $699 available Feb 7th with 3 games

    Slack Files for IPO

Slack is huge in the software development world and frankly I love it. It has fantastic integration using webhooks with a lot of software development, project management, and logging tools. I can't imagine not having it in my day to day job. I have been keeping an eye on Teams but it doesn't...

Apex Legends Hits 1 Million Players, But Replaced Titanfall 3

The loss of Titanfall 3 is disappointing but I had a great time playing Apex Legends for a few hours last night. It seemed quite polished to me for a day one experience and I certainly enjoyed it more than Blackout in CoD.

Intel Teases Discrete Graphics Plans on Twitter

I appreciate your optimism, but I feel like you are fairly out of touch with the average computer users out there. GPU is a great place for Intel to be. I am not exactly sure how it will work out in the near term, but I feel like they could make more waves here then when they tried to make...

AMD Shakes Up Their Senior Leadership

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang Dismisses the Radeon VII as "Underwhelming"

My thoughts exactly - I want the competition to drive down prices and instead AMD me too'd. There are of course many valid reasons to do this as a business, but it doesn't make GPU pricing sting any less for consumers. To add to that, there have been a handful of sales for the 2080 recently...

NVIDIA Demonstrates Issues with Non-Validated FreeSync Monitors at CES 2019

GeForce RTX 2080 Ti FAILS After Gaming for 2 Hours @ [H]

Battlefield V is Live a Day Early

Google Pixel 3 XL Makes an Early Appearance in Hong Kong [Leak]

I stand corrected and that is definitely comforting to hear. I never personally had to deal with Samsung for a cell phone warranty issue so it is good to hear some solid feedback. Google Pixel 3 XL Makes an Early Appearance in Hong Kong [Leak]

    DLSS Performance Gains Explored
