Is it true that 7950X3D suffers from stutter on games?

I'm not sure if you can do this with AM5, but on my 5950X the answer was an All-Core OC (not using PBO), CPPC off & SMT off. Removed all "stutter" I ever had and improved performance in a very measurable way (another thread on this forum about that). Not sure if you are able to do the same...

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X - predicting bottom price for previous gen

The 5950X is a remarkable chip. For gaming, All core OC, SMT disabled for me (smooth as butter, 0 stuttering). Productivity? Run a PBO curve with SMT on. The versatility of this chip is amazing, plan to keep mine as a main use rig until Ryzen 8000 or Intel 15 series.

Nvidia Says Native Resolution Gaming is Out, DLSS is Here to Stay

In terms of Frame Gen, have you actually used it? Everytime I hear "input lag", I laugh and assume said comment has come from someone who has never used FG before. I have a 4090 and have no trouble driving 4K, but I have used FG in FH5, Portal RTX, CP2077 and SW Jedi Survivor... 0 input lag...

Nvidia Says Native Resolution Gaming is Out, DLSS is Here to Stay

I've been PC gaming since the mid-90's, and while the past details are fuzzy (or maybe I did not care back then), but was there always this much uproar on new graphical features being added to games? Why is everyone clamoring for rasterization when NVidia is actually trying to make it where...

Nvidia Says Native Resolution Gaming is Out, DLSS is Here to Stay

Bring on all the DLSS 3.5+ technology... I love fully maxing out games at 4K with all the eye candy. The article has a lot of good points in favor of their focus, and I tend to agree with most of them. RT + DLSS + FG is going to be the future. The point that stuck out to me is rasterization...

    5950x and Memory Overclock Fail

One 5950X having a bad IMC? Possible... 3 of them though? Extremely unlikely. You should not need anywhere near 1.25V of SoC or 1.4V for DDR for 3200Mhz. I run my B-Die sticks of 3200Mhz at 3800Mhz with only 1.38V DDR and 1.05V SoC. I'm guessing your memory is simply not compatible with the...

    $4000 RTX 4090

LMFAO! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: So, I am all for buying AIB cards for better components, more power phases, etc. to get that OC headroom (It's who I am, first thing I did with my 4090 was find the max OC). But as over-engineered as these cards were for cooling on just air, why would...

    Cinebench 2024 Out

On my specific setup, multiplier is 47x, BCLK is 100.50 and vCore is at 1.35V with LLC @ second most aggressive level. 100% Prime95 stable, I have had 0 crashes since going all core OC route, whereas even after a year+ of tweaking PBO, I'd still get a random crash now and then. System runs...

    Cinebench 2024 Out

Seems like I am right where I want to be! :) I use my 5950X different than most, with an all-core OC locked with no PBO and SMT turned off.... makes for an extremely smooth, stutter-free and seamless gaming experience.

I saw a Sony trinitron on the curb 2 weeks ago when I was walking in the neighborhood. I thought about picking it up to see if it still worked and keeping it if it did. Was probably about 17". Sadly tho, not sure where I would have put it, plus the wife was with me walking and was already...

I currently have an ASUS 24" 1920x1200 monitor hooked up to my true retro build (the KT7A one). It's the only LCD I have that has DP, HDMI, DVI and VGA, and at 75Hz! Plus, it has a ton of scaling options being an "Art" monitor, so I am using 1:1 on my true retro build so it looks correct to...

Did I have a "need" back then, not really, but anyone who knows me knows I get as much fun tweaking/pushing hardware as I do playing any games on it. I mean, what's your end goal? The Q9650 will all around be a better CPU than the Q6600 with more cache and newer instruction set. Even with the higher FSB, they still overclock really well if you have a good motherboard and good DDR2.

Luckly, I have been 100% remote work for 3 years now (I was only 1 of 2 people left who kept that ability, mostly because I would just have quit, screw pointless commutes). Plus, our company got bought earlier this year (fun times) by a company that has at least 50% of their workforce remote...

Yeah, never heard of this game as a kid in the 90s (and I loved mech warrior on PC back then!). Now its a must play for me. Just beat Doom SNES so this is next on the list. I gave it a quick shot and its so unique, surprised it was so dirt cheap to pick up a near perfect condition one on...

How many 4080/4090 owners plan to upgrade to a respective 50 series when available?

Yeah, I feel the same way. Does not bother me that the rumors are the 5000 series will be a year later than normal. Like sweet, I will still be top of the line for a record amount of time for once! This card is generally like "Is this the best you can throw at me?" lol.

Silly question... of COURSE I'll snag a 5090 when it comes out... lol. Hopefully sometime in late 2024, but probably sometime in 2025 based on rumors. Although it's hard to believe needing anything more than my 4090 right now, even at 4K. As newer games come out, I am sure there is bound to...

Having trouble choosing a 4090 manufacturer (or whether to get it)

I'm on a 4090 paired with a heavily tweaked 5950X and it's been the best video card experience I have had since I jumped to my 1080's in SLi back in the day. Half these "benchmarks" just leave configurations on default (as that's what most people do). If you are using PBO and loose memory...

Does anyone here actually use their TOSLINK port on their MOBO?

I use the TOSLINK on my sound card in my TV streaming PC to my Denon receiver (on top of HDMI). HBOMax removed bitstream audio from HDMI unless you pay more (screw that, worked for years), but I can get 5.1 still when streaming using the TOSLINK with my SoundBlaster card in that PC so it still...

    Dual 4090 -Dual Xeon-1.5TB ram

Not to mention, the Xeons and memory would be "slow" for gaming... If you really wanted SLi 4090's for gaming, you would throw it in another other mainstream Intel or AMD platform and it wwould perform better for games.
