Tim Cook to Investors: People Bought Fewer New iPhones Because They Repaired Their Old Ones

No Tim. People are buying fewer new iphones because you've raised the price to beyond what the market will willingly pay for in the quantity that is expected.

New Xbox Rumors: $249/$499 Consoles, 1TB NVMe SSDs, Ray-Tracing Support

I'll admit that I love seeing 2 separate news articles referencing the ResetEra forums. As far as the streaming Lockhart box; I wonder what kind of uptake it'll have in the market. The price is pretty alluring though so perhaps it'll do better than I think it will.

Factually incorrect. VAC works on tons of non Valve games. Examples: COD, Dungeon Defenders, etc

    X58 NB Temps High

NB temps have always sucked on the X58 chipset mobos. I know the Rampage III Extreme came with an optional replacement heatsink for it's NB. Without it, you were fine under conservative setups (a single gpu, etc), but even going to a 2 GPU setup caused the temps to go up to 70c+. New thermal...

    Do I really need cdn?

Most modern browsers limit the number of simultaneous requests from a single remote host name while loading a web page. The limit in browsers like Chrome, Firefox and IE is 6 concurrent downloads from the same domain. The purpose of this limit is to avoid overloading the remote server with...

Court Hands Google a Worldwide Site Blocking Injunction

Didn't read the article? Perhaps you should. You'd come off looking less like an idiot then when you grill other people. In a ruling handed down in British Columbia, Justice L.A. Fenlon agreed, ordering Google to remove the infringing websites’ listings from its search results. Despite...

    Since PS4 & Xbone are x86...

Most ps2 games run flawless with modern emulators. I do agree that its unlikely we'll see cell emulated anytime soon so your right on that front. Linux functionality had nothing to do with playing backed up games for the PS3. Its likely a xb1 emulator will be out the door before a ps4 one...

How can one post have so many thing that are simply just wrong. You may seirously want to seek help. Android is.. *gasp* a linux based operating system, so the fact that you recommend Steam be for android and not linux is errm. wow. Next, why would Steam focus on the mobile market? They'd...

John Romero now teaching at UC Santa Cruz

Considering he was a part of what made IDsoftware great (as evident by their later games excluding quake 3), I suppose we should give him a pass on Daikatana.

Left 4 Dead 3 unofficially revealed

Not really no. No one is going to get in trouble. A group went in to look around and Valve said they could take pictures. Someone obviously left their bug tracker up when they left their work computer. Hardly anyones fault, and no NDA was broken

“Weird Paranoia” at Valve, Says Former Employee

Valve couldn't of been that bad of a place to work. She complained, she ruffled feathers, etc (she said so herself) and yet she was still allowed to take the work she developed under Valve's dollar with her when she quit. Most complains when you go, the work you did STAYS. She is obviously...

    Apache optimizations?

You'll never get amazing performance out of Apache unless you strip out absolutely all the loaded modules. Your pictures still get ran through for example your php parser (if its installed), etc. You really should consider either switching to nginx or lighthttpd for static and apache.

Former Prey 2 Dev Speaks Out On 'Lies' About Game

The rumor through the grapevine was that Bethesda offered to buy Human Head. When they refused, Bethesda sort of quit funding the project in (I guess) an attempt to strong arm them into agreeing.
