I have a fairly old motherboard, MSI Z97 Gaming 5 and would like to put in an M.2 drive while the board does have an M.2 slot it is an older interface. I was thinking of possibly getting a PCIe adapter card and stick that in.
Currently I have an SSD for the boot drive an a HDD for my...
I have a Season focus gold 750 power supply that I am running one cable from to the RTX 2080 it has two 6+2 plugs so I am using 6+2 and 6. Everything seems fine but I am wondering if is should actually have two power cable coming from the power supply? I have seen posts in various...
I am about to head out to Micro Center a buy a RTX 2080. My question is can I just update the drivers to the latest while the 980 is still in the machine and then just swap the cards? Will that work or do I have to do the DDU thing?

I am sitting at a 980. With the performance being similar between the 2080 and the 1080 ti and the prices not really that much different (looking at Micro Center), I am inclined to go with the 2080. I am going to hold out regardless but I would never buy a 2080 ti at what they are asking.
I currently have a 980 and there is no way in hell I will pay 1000 bucks for a video card. Some of the leaks have indicated that the 1080ti might be a bit faster then the 2080, which seems a bit silly?
The system is a PowerSpec G413. Power supply looks to be an Allied 500W SL-8500BTX.

My Power supply started to make a barely audible high pitch sound (I am assuming it is the power supply). It makes this sound when the computer is off as well as when it is on. I unplug it and the sound goes away. It was very hot as my heat pump went out over the last few days...
I am kind of in the same boat. I currently have a I7-4790k and I don't think I really need to upgrade that so I was thinking I would get a new monitor (gsync) and a 1080ti but the cost is insane.
I am seriously thinking of just buying a new system. Microcenter is selling a powerspec system...
