this is giong to sound crazy OP but i started having this exact same issue yesterday afternoon, centOS and VSFTPD... ran yum update and rebooted my VM and its been fine since.
EDIT: nvm on that question, but iv'e got another hehe. I've never setup iSCSI before and well i think i did everything right, ESXi was able to pull up the iSCSI name just fine after punching in the IP, but the LUN isn't showing. I've included screenshot of the comstar main page in hopes...
yeah at this pointi 'm thinking its a combination of the SAS controller <-> backplane. depending on how i plug things in i can get some drives to read and nothing on others. Gonna pull my entire server upstairs in the next day or so and just sit down and play around with different connnectiosn...
Having some issues with napp-it, for some reason when the computer boots all the hard drives show up when the SAS card and expander are booting, but when it gets into solaris suddently none of them are there. I've got a M1015 i believe it is with the intel SAS expander if that is of any help...
yeah when i had comcast business with my own modem my IP never rolled, even moving houses across town! having a few static IP's would be nice but not at the cost of having to use their modem, NAT is good enough.
Ugh, ok managed to get the one pool back online that i was having issues with, finally got it to import the pool, however the other pool that had been functioning is now showing as suspended XD. Time to play around with the IBM more and see if i can't find a combo that will get that pool back...
I really hope its not a PSU problem i'm on my third one now. I would think a 560wwould be sufficient for 24 drives wouldn't it?
EDIT: managed to get it to recognize 2 of the disk in the "damaged" pool but now my other pool is suspended and unavailable. WTF.
EDIT2: what the fuck ever. I'm...
I removed the IBM and directly connected and i'm still not able to import the pool due to too many IO Error. Would reinstalling the OS just clear everything or is like suspension state stored on the drives as well? THis particular raid pool its no big loss but my other is but it responds just...
ok that makes sense. I'll have to give it a shot later tonight/tomorrow and see what i can turn up. I guess when i get a job again i need to look into new hardware maybe :(
if i do clear errors i get the following: cannot clear errors for NFS: I/O error
clearing napp-it cache: no errors
- pool import NFS SUSPENDED One or more devices are unavailable in response to IO failures. The pool is suspended.
- pool export + import: cannot export 'NFS': pool I/O is...
the disks are already directly connected to the IBM without the expander. The OS sees the disks i just don't know how to clear the suspended I/O state. i'm getting so fed up with ZFS, thought it would make it easier to manage but its been more of a pain than just going with a true RAID setup.
well i managed to hookup a monitor today, all 24 drives are seen on boot, so its purely got to be something with ZFS.
EDIT: did some checking and all 25 drives are showing up to the OS just fine, even able to use the activity LED to show the drive no problem from napp-it so i really have no...
I've got a M1015 in a PCIe slot of course with an intel RES2SV240 connected together. From there i have SATA break out cables to the HDD bays, its a norco 4020. I'm highly thinking backplane at this point because i started moving around the SAS connectors on the expander last night and still...
Man i could really use some help. I"m getting frustrated but i can't afford to do anything else right now. napp-it has marked a bunch of drives as unavailable but if i run fmadm repair it can't ind anything wrong with anything. What can i do to get my pools back online so i can at least...
tried that, actually got it to respond by moving one of the connections from the SAS expander directly to the SAS card. But its showing failed drives O.o. I guess when i get money sometime soon its time to do some HDD replacements as i've got 3 failed now.
Hoping someone has any ideas for me, yesterday my storage pool was online and suddenly cut out on me. Decided to let it go for the night thinking maybe it just needed to clear up a cache. today i logged into napp-it and see that the entire pool is marked as unavailable. I can see the drives...
i bought my license from CDW. had no issues. I went straight to a unlimited user just to avoid any possible issues not that i ever plan on having more than 50 users at home LOL.
i bought a 5505 for my home a few years back and its great. I'm probably not even using 10% of the feature set but it does a great job at what it does. I learned the hard way about the licensing with the users so verify that before you do anything, that was a mistake that ended up costing me...
You know, i've got a 2970 that is the same way, i never thought to plug in a console cable to see if anything shows at all. I'm of no help here OP but i hope you figure it out hehe.
win 2k8 R2 - domain/dhcp/dns
centOS - web server
centOS - minecraft
win 2k8 R2 - NOC/RDP/console
2k8 - uTorrent
2k8 - media streaming services
others to test and play around with. going to convert most to linux based since i don't have technet any longer.
mmmm 10gb, i really want to get a pair of 10gb nic's for my ESXi and storage box, i don't think my network is the bottleneck between them yet but when i get around to upgrading my storage box i have a feeling it will be.
quite honestly something like that would make me just refuse to buy gameworks games in general, i've already given up on nvidia because of their ways. I would love to have the physx effects some of the games have but can't cause i'm ATi but its not worth going back to nvidia for them.
