    Starfield: Let's see Your Ships!

You can upgrade the different systems from the main upgrade interface. To actually change the parts around, you have to go into Ship Builder. G to add, and then select what parts you want to add. Most things click together, as long as there is a spot to click to there on the item. Only weapons...

I ended up just selling then at The Den in Wolf. FYI, be careful storing stuff in the apartment in New Atlantis. Once you hit a certain point, there is an event in the city and after that, my apartment lost everything that I had placed there. Possibly a bug, but it appears it hits a lot of...

    Starfield: Let's see Your Ships!

All the parts that are level locked are just upgrades to existing things to which you already have access, for the most part. You should have access to all of the "parts" you need, you just may not be able to get the higher tier version of it yet (i.e. Reactors with 30 power instead of 20).

Looking forward to a mod that adds hull to Structural items.

    Starfield: Let's see Your Ships!

Stealing or buying ships can get you access to modules you do not have unlocked yet. That said.... Yes, level up and play the game.

    Starfield: Let's see Your Ships!

There likely are mods that add things, but I haven't used them. Different Ship technicians have access to different parts (New Atlantis is Deimos and Nova Galactic only, and only certain engine/storage/etc components), so you need to visit the different cities in order to see all of the...

    Starfield: Let's see Your Ships!

I never even noticed it runs in Borderless Full Screen, I typically run every game in Full Screen mode. No wonder snipping worked so seamlessly.

    Starfield: Let's see Your Ships!

My current favorite, I have modified the Achilles I bought into a recreation of MCRN Tachi (aka the Rocinante). I am still tweaking the outside, but it is quite fun to fly. I would take screenshots from ShipBuilder, but I am in Neon currently and in my save the Ship tech walks off the side of...

    Starfield: Let's see Your Ships!

Yea., but it gets really frustrating, and it often still ends up not working, in order to get things configured like I want it. I actually used Print Screen on my keyboard (can also do Windows + Shift + S). On my Windows 11 machine, it opens the snipping tool. On my Linux machine it opens...

Steam version for me. I tried deleting the 2 "bink" files and am Validating the install. Found a different version that didnt need to update those files and so far so good. Also, I was not very bothered by it, I just didnt feel like playing without that UI mod. Was a good excuse to find...

    Starfield

New patch broke this. Taking a break from the game until new version comes out that works. Some said to just follow the install steps again, but i get an error when trying to start the game that the library isn't supported. The fact that mods like StarUI are flagged and turn off achievements...

    Starfield: Let's see Your Ships!

My top mod would be one that sets Resources weight = 0. One that lets you determine where interior doors and ladders are placed would be great too. I would like one that removes size limits, but i think that would likely end up causing more issues than it is worth. I don't mind the limits on...

    Starfield: Let's see Your Ships!

I swap around all 3 of these currently. I have found a number of "free ships" and just totally gutted and rebuilt them into these. I have so far left the Frontier and Razorleaf alone, as well as the first ship I bought, the Achilles. Trying to decide what to build next. At some point I may...

Build an outpost and a landing pad with ship builder, first. Cities only have certain companies’ ship components, but the outpost version has everything.

    Starfield

I agree about ship inventories 1) being way too small. How can I personally carry more than some ships? Seeing as how the ship is the most logical place to keep components so you can access from anywhere, it is frustrating 2) getting dumped on the new ship, which already comes with a ton of...

If you take Serpent's Embrace trait, they do not bother you. Also the buff is pretty nice and all you have to do is Grav Jump once every 4 hrs of in game time.

Agreed on Outer Worlds. This is closer to what I wanted Outer Worlds to be. I actually have been doing side quests at the same time as Story missions. I have found that some will take you to the same location, so you can just go there once and take are of multiple. Also, I enjoyed the...

I would like to play Starfield

Steam Deck it does not run as well on, but you could try. I would personally not get it on console, as you would miss out on all of the Modding, which I believe will be the big difference-maker for this game. Back when I was more resource-restricted, I scoured Ebay for used corporate towers...

I also got a nice deal and had credit I could use on this or else I would not have pre-ordered. That said, I have enjoyed the game so far. Only annoyance I have so far is the same with the Fallouts, lots of stuff to pick up in the world and i never know if it might be needed sometime, or if it...

First game I have Pre-ordered since Mass Effect 3. I did get a discount from gmg, that put me over the edge. At its worst, still better than having spent money on Star Citizen.

Ranking of Linux Distrubitions from Best to Evil

Nobara is really nice for gaming. It has a lot of gaming related changes patched directly into the kernel. This makes it so you cannot just run a different Fedora spin and try adding the Repos. Sadly it uses Gnome, which I find painful. There may be a way to use KDE on Nobara, but I have had...

Ranking of Linux Distrubitions from Best to Evil

I also quite enjoy Fedora, though i now use KDE. There are just so many things in KDE I like better than gnome/base Fedora. Having an AMD based system likely helps, but I have yet to have problems using Fedora, including some light gaming.

Baldurs Gate 3 - Official Discussion Thread (2019)

I get that. I grew up on the original BG, Ultima series, NWN, and Fallout. I guess i have gotten old and have poor eyesight now, but being zoomed out away from things just turns me off to things, especially compared to the perspectives in the games mentioned.

Baldurs Gate 3 - Official Discussion Thread (2019)

I am not sure why, but I am finding it hard to get into Isometric view RPGs any more. I guess it was my years in MMOs, along with playing Mass Effect series, Dragon Age series, and Witcher 3, among others.... I just like feeling closer to the action, especially when you have combat more complex...

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen ~ Challenging Epic Planar High Fantasy MMORPG

I actually really liked Rift. I wish there was a private server for it, so i can go back and lay around in it. Everquest will probably always be my favorite, but it is a bit dated as well as not being very solo friendly along witht he community being largely gone. I recently played WoW...

Gamers Nexus calls out anti-consumer MBO practices

If you had said Best Buy, I would agree. Microcenter has a bit more nerd-cred for me. Again, I disagree. For me the downturn was recording / streaming of games and the "Streamer/Gamer" phenomenon that has only gotten worse. People started needing these "gaming" branded computers because they...

What's the best Linux networking protocol?

When I first started getting the cables and optics I bought SMF, so I have just maintained that. SMF for 10 Gb was not that much more expensive, and was much less confusing as I started getting into things. I am not yet utilizing the 40Gb QSFP+ on the 6610, but I would go MMF between that and...

What's the best Linux networking protocol?

I use both from my NAS. NFS for linux machines, Samba for Windows. If you have lots of small files, supposedly NFS is better, and also it supposedly has less CPU overhead, but it is all subjective. Without a really specific use-case, go with whichever one you prefer

    ASUS Bluetooth driver won't install

Have you checked that it is enabled in the BIOS? Usually there is a switch somewhere in there that enables / disables Wifi and Bluetooth. Wifi and Bluetooth are usually on the same module, so if Wifi is also not working, then its either disabled or there is an issue with it.

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

It is a fun game sort of like a non-blocky Minecraft in space. I was tempted to grab it for Switch, but realized you would not be able to mod it. I cannot play the game without mods, solely because i don't have the patience to wait the what feels like an eternity for scanning stuff.

Why Heroic over Lutris? I have never branched out too far from Steam on Linux, but am looking to expand a bit. I have a number of games on GoG and Epic I would not mind playing on this new machine I just loaded with KDE Neon Fedora spin. How does Heroic handle games with embedded launchers...
