And now I have it stable at 3600MHz -- stock timings. (16/16/16/36@1.35v)
Incredible that filling all the DIMMs makes that much of a variance.
*EDIT*
May have spoke too soon. Ran Memtest overnight and had a single error... No matter what I do, it finds errors on test 8 (random numbers)...
I can verify using only 4 dimms (I.e. one pack of the listed RAM) is able to achieve 3200MHz just fine.
I also think one of the 8 sticks I had was faulty. I was getting a lot of weird stutters on the system, so I decided to tinker because of that.
I may permanently downscale to 32GB (4x8gb...
Spent a few hours today tying to get beyond 2933MHz to no avail. I was trying, specifically, to get to 3200MHz. Tried pretty much every timing possibility going as high as 22/22/22/42 with no successful take.
IT would post, but would not pass memtest.
It is! I actually got lucky -- because I didn't investigate that before hand... I knew thew 3200mhz version was, so I assumed the 3600 was. Boy was I relieved when I got it installed and found out I was right.
Hello everyone --
I was curious what sorts of speeds others with the new Zenith Extreme x399 boards were getting when filling all 8 banks with 8gb sticks.
I personally bought two G.Skill 4 x 8gb kits (Sku: F4-3600C16Q-32GTZR) and currently have them running and stable @2933 MHz on stock...
I've used the Corsair M65 (I actually own one) and I didn't like it at all. The plastic in the back of the mouse not being one solid piece would cut into my hand, making it extremely uncomfortable. After long periods of gaming sessions, I would have a heavy indentation on my palm as well as skin...
Hey Hardforumers -- I need your opinion/help:
I'm kind of a peripheral nut - but ever since the Logitec G9 and G9x were discontinued I haven't been able to find a mouse that was comfortable for me. I have large hands, and loved the extra width the old G9 gave. I personally can't stand the MMO...
Thanks guys - I figured as much... I haven't kept up with the PSU world nearly as much as I have the MoBo/CPU/GPU world... Just wanted the piece of mind of other eyes confirming my hopes.
I appreciate the feedback.
I bought an extremely high end PSU in 2011 - and by all standards it still outpaces a lot of what's around today. (8 +12v rails.... mmmm...)

I've owned many of the brands that are out there today... EVGA used to be my go-to, but after two Factory OC'd cards failed because of the Overclock (I.e. I had to set everything back to factory standard specs recommended by nVidia) to stabilize it to be able to play anything... I decided to...
Usually 'stuttering' problems with a graphics card is an Un-stable or overheating overclock. Even factory OC cards can have this problem. (I recently had this issue with a 285GTX)
We've already solved the problem - it's not power at all.
The CPU (i7 920 Stock @ 2.4GHz) is running at 3.8GHz. Been running stable sense the week the i7 was launched (I've had it that long). Prime-95 tested for 48 hours when it was originally done.
Another sort of 'silly' question... I don't have a retailer around me that sells PC components really, so I normally use Newegg (like most everyone else).
I can't help but notice they don't sell X23. Where do you all get yours from?
djoye,
This card was NOT overclocked by me. It's a BFG 285 GTX OC (came from BFG already overclocked!) It's a factory issue, not a user issue in this case.
I was actually in the middle of doing this -- It turns out the newer nVidia drivers changed fan-speeds to defaults (rather than taking OC cards into account). I started by manually turning the GPU fan 100%. This helped (some). Rather than fully crashing, it would stutter for a while.
I took...
I did this (uninstalled all drivers via 3Dguru's Driver Sweeper... Rebooted back into safe mode... Installed 260.99 Nvidia drivers) - and the problem indeed persists. I was able to go into Event Viewer (using Crysis as my test subject) and get the data from the crash.
(I apologize in advance...
I'm well aware. DirectX 11 is a super-set (DX 10.0/10.1/11). It automatically utilizes the best option based upon the hardware.
*EDIT*
Oh, however I did forget to mention... My system is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit edition.
So, I have a rather large issue with Driver failures with my 285 GTX, and I'm not sure if anyone else is having the same problem, or if it's just a power issue.
What I have:
i7 920 @ 3.8GHz
EVGA E758-TR 3-Way SLI Mobo
BFG 285 GTX oc
6GB Corsair Dominator ram

Out of curisoity, and sheer laziness, what do you all think is the best INTEL for the dollar when it comes down to gaming?
What would the best for the dollar be now, for possible future games (I.E. quad-cores, etc...)
I currently own a BFG 8800 GTX OC... Would it really be worth "upgradeing" to the new 9800 GTX?
Also, how're the 9800 GX2's fareing? I've not had time to research into them.
Well... I prefer the clear side panels. If I'm buying a case, I want something I can show off to my friends. The case is only first glimpse, the inside is what really matters.

That's pretty much what i've read everywhere else too, about the cable management. I plan to have lots of zip ties, and ziptie mounts. So hopefully it won't be too much of an issue.
My Seasonic m12 powersupply is 100% modular, so it may even look kinda cool.
Keep 'em coming though! If...
I'm thinking about getting the nine hundred... I've read nothing but great reviews, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any other cases. I've pretty much gone over every case that newegg.com has to offer. But, there's always possibility of something better!

I've not actually looked at full computer components in a while... I built myself a BOSS machine not too long ago, and I bought an Scythe SCINF-1000 120mm CPU Cooler and was using it to cool my e6600 C2Duo...
Now, the case I put this CPU cooler in, it didn't quite agree with the side fan. (I...

Well, I have one of these fans in the exhaust port in the back of my case. The heatsink is large enough that it's RIGHT next to this... And on the right side of the heatsink I have the 40cfm fan blowing towards the exhaust... To get a perfect airflow (While my 2 250mm fans keep the case itself...
I have a Scythe Infinity heatsink on my Conroe.... And the stock fan that came with it. I've bought a couple of 120mm aftermarket fans, that put out a HUGE amount of air. This fan has a 12v plug (sense it's a case fan) but it appears to have a 3 prong plug with only one wire coming out of it...
Thanks newls1... That's the problem I was encountering. I haven't installed the Microsoft drivers at all... It doesn't much matter anyway though, as I have a soundcard coming in the mail tomorrow. Thank you all so much for the help!
I'm trying to use the onboard for now. I'll try to see if they're enabled in the BIOS... I believe I went through everything in the BIOS and set it.
I may just end up getting a seperate soundcard anyways, so I'm not to worried about it. Thanks for the help everyone!
