Windows 10: Why can't I disable Windows Defender?

That's what happens when you tangle with someone who can only base opinions on Linux fanboy-ism, rather than attempting to provide useful, relevant information on the subject matter.

Weird Outlook sync issues - Exchange

Looks like we have that registry key in place already. My guess is, our Exchange guru did this, knowing we are using on-prem Exchange.

Weird Outlook sync issues - Exchange

I was drafted in to help our helpdesk guy with a strange issue. Our CEO has a problem with Outlook not completely syncing with our server. His Outlook client on his laptop gets new e-mails as expected, but doesn't seem to be syncing his Sent Items, or any changes he makes, such as deleting...

WTB Combo for generic Office PC (Cheaper)

I can get the specifics tonight, but I have an OptiPlex with a 3770 (non-K) that's unused.

Here's what I have. Note that there are two pairs in the photo, so they are both a 2x8 GB set. http://tech.sknetworx.com/images/Memory.jpg

WiFi issues and new Xfinity Gateway

I recently upgraded my home internet service, which included an Advanced Gateway device from Xfinity. I had been using my own router for about 8 years. I didn't encounter any issues with the switch initially. All devices seemed to work, including several Google Home devices, a Sonos, etc. I...

    Live Cloning

These aren't servers. They are physical machines. We have over 400 servers in our ESXi environment running on two vBlocks. I'd love to have these workstations act as dumb terminals connecting in to a virtualized setup, but they need between 4 and 8 displays running on each.

    Live Cloning

How is the state of live cloning? I have a operations center that doesn't like downtime, and I wanted to clone one of the workstations from a 500 GB spinner to a 1 TB SSD. I see that Acronis True Image claims to be able to clone a running system to an external USB drive (which could be the...

    RGB Control Question

I dug around and found the Synapse software that has a list of Razer-branded compatible devices. I'll give it a shot.

I see. So Chroma is the "technology" but it looks like Synapse is the actual software product.

    RGB Control Question

I just switched my AMD Wraith Prism to a USB header (instead of the RGB header) and bought a Razer Death Adder Elite. They both mention Razer utilities for controlling the RGB lighting. Any chance I can use one utility to handle all of this? Any chance ASUS's Aura utility can do it? Lights...

Looking for advice on a trade

So, I'm not going to mention the user, because we aren't having any trouble or tension. This isn't a complaint or a rant. I'm just trying to be fair. So I shipped a complete tower and removed the HSF so it wouldn't damage anything. That was packed separately. I had 4 8 GB Corsair DDR3...

WTB: Ryzen Processor, Motherboard, Ram combo

I was about to post a combo I have to sell. I'm not sure if you want something higher end, but it is a 1700X, Asus Prime B450M-A, Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB, and AMD Wraith Prism RGB.

W10 Component (Boot, Sys, Reserved) Install Locations

I always set up my system partition using diskpart during the very first GUI screen of the install. That being said, updating your BIOS shouldn't have anything to do with the format of the system drive. If it isn't running within Windows, most modern BIOSes should let you update them from...

    BlueMail and Office 365

I don't see anything in the logs, unfortunately. I'll give Mailspring a look. They do claim to have support via IMAP, which would be enough for my purposes on this laptop. https://getmailspring.com/setup/access-office365-via-imap-smtp Thanks for the recommendation.

    BlueMail and Office 365

Yes to the Snap. I didn't see any other way. UFW status is inactive. If wouldn't run under Fedora at all, so I'm questioning the usability of their Linux application.

Easy way to transfer from PC to PC?

I wouldn't bother cloning the system. This is a new build, so it should get the latest Windows 10 clean installed, latest drivers, and then go from there. I don't trust applications to decide what I need moved. If you are the user of the laptop, you know what's important. Use your network or...

    BlueMail and Office 365

I spun up a Windows 10 VM, loaded BlueMail with the same account, and it works perfectly. So, it seems that it has to be something about the default install of Ubuntu that isn't allowing the connectivity once I put in my account credentials. Those are accepted without issue.

    BlueMail and Office 365

Nope, and I've been able to use third-party apps before. I had Hiri running without a problem on the same account.

Yes, I verified from the same laptops/VM that I can use my web login to the portal.

    BlueMail and Office 365

I'm trying to get the BlueMail application to work with my Office 365 account. Has anyone been able to do so? It claims to have full support, and even an option to choose as mail server type. I'm greeted with the proper Office 365 login screen, I choose Work, enter my credentials, and...

    Looking for case recommendations

I normally love Corsair cases, and have a few at the moment. However, I'm looking for a potential upgrade to my Crystal 460X. I don't dislike the case, but I was considering something different. My main and only gripe is that the I/O ports are on the top of the case. MicroCenter has a red...

    Cockpit, yay or nay?

I've been reading about Cockpit and have even set it up on an old CentOS7 VM. What are your thoughts on this management tool and do you recommend it? If I am reading correctly, there is a way to set it up and use it to manage other servers as well? I have roughly 20 Linux servers, mostly...

I'm the OP, and I most definitely didn't ask for a Linux solution. The Media Creation tool works very well...when you want a flash drive of that particular version. One does not exist for 1909 yet. I've used it hundreds of times with one and only one issue...and that was Trend Micro's fault...
