I don't get the windows 11 hate, but I also didn't get the Windows 10 hate.
Outside of 95 -> 98(SE) -> ME, and then Vista -> 7, every major release has changed significantly. Things change, adapt.
My guess would be a bad hard disk.
OP, it's a new drive... Install it in your system alone and install windows as a new install to test the drive. If it's wonky, it's the new drive. If it's fine, it's the copy.
I used the built in tools to remove or add things to my start menu that I liked. I change the Control Panel to be like windows 7. I moved the start menu to the left and modified it's layout.
So, no, no third party apps.
Not that it should matter... All of the Linux added items are "third...
I didn't like the UI either, so I just changed it to look mostly like windows 10.

Ubuntu has always been an alternative. It was what people said when windows 10 came out and now I hear the same thing for windows 11. If people wanted to use Ubuntu so badly they just would. It's been ready for primetime for ages now. It's been ready for years, don't wait for EOL windows 10 if...
My local store has tons of 30 and 40 series cards in all denominations, except 3080s. Lots of AMD cards as well, including the 6xxx and 7xxx series, such as the new XTX cards. Even had some Intel cards there and I live in Canada of all places ;)
I don't think YoYo keeps record of task progress, just completion. So you can't pause them.
I could be wrong, it's been a while, but I remember there is a project out there like this.
