My 5900X does too. I personally thought X3D was a waste of money because I like my 5900X better in the end.
That is new, like AM5.. so you know it always wasn't like that. Can you run your 7950X3D in Win10 and still have roughly the same performance, or do you need 11s schedular?
I only ask...
I gotcha now.
Interesting that it is aiming for 4500MHz with Linpack. That is what I aim for on my 5900X, my 5600X does it at 4650, and my 58X3D does it at 4250 I think.
I forgot that they took power limits away from you newer X3D users.. just like they did on the old X3D.
I do smoke a large amount of Cannabis, I do miss the point occasionally.
Maybe check your TIM? Some guys say there is no such thing as too much, but there is.
Cant hit 80c? Really? What frequency are the cores running at when its loaded?
Kind of impressive.
Its not a lot, when you get into the 150s on 5600X, that is a lot. But even 5800X3D can do 143w PPT and that chip is locked down pretty tight. My 5900X can do 240w PPT.
They make good coolers. I wonder if I am getting good results because of my Torrent? I swear PS120SE is as good as FC140, and both are better than PA120SE.. Maybe they react differently with Intel CPUs?
It can run 4850 all core :)
It is probably my favorite out of my Zen3 parts :D
It runs cool, and it runs to its limit no problem, just gotta feed it all the PPT TDC and EDC the socket will give it.. seriously.
Or I could just set x47 and let er rip.
You must be retarded.
I have 2x AM4 systems in use right now, and 3x AM4 CPUs.
That is what I am running.. AM4.. for the last 3 years. I do not have any Intel systems in use right now.. but I do have Intel systems.
Buy what you want, since you only read what you want anyways. Just disregarded...
Wow that’s crazy.
I think I paid 450 CAD for my 5600X at launch, and 806CAD for my 5900X.. my X3D was about 600 CAD I think..
You guys always get the good deals :D
5600X is an awesome CPU. I have one in my sons system, and it rips just fine. Boost override is set to 4850 and it will pin each core/thread.. cant say that about my 5900X :D
And it is super easy to cool.. also cant say that about my 5900X :D
Its not terrible, but it is noticeable. I don't have a 5800X, but my 5900X boosts to 5150 on multiple cores.. its a noticeable difference from 4450 for sure.
But like I said, for games its pretty good.
If its at stock settings it is.
I said this last September on another forum "The 58X3D is great if you "just" game. Outside of that it is a step backwards, and a waste of money if you do anything outside of playing games."
Anyways.. I know you guys like the CPU, I didn't mean to ruffle any...
But it does. Reviewers seem to test at box stock settings. You can get awesome performance from a 5900X. And if you do more than just play games, well then an X3D is going to be a bit sucky for that too.
Maybe so, but in the end it comes down to your tune. If you cant tune, you aren't going to...
Call it what you will, but outside of playing games it is a slow cpu for everything else. For instance, there is a big difference between 4450 of the X3D and 5150 of the 5900X.
Lol I have 2 AM4 systems in use, and plan on keeping them in use for a few more years.. I need another system for my other kid. AM4 and Zen 3 is still awesome to me. I just wouldn't buy one new.
I would pass on AMD personally.
I have a nice B660 ITX board waiting for some DDR5 and a thirteensevenkay :)
58X3D is ok only for games, outside of that it is slow. AM4 is dead, AM5 is a mess.
PS120SE is a little stronger than FC140, and PA120 takes up the rear. All are good coolers though, and when I say good, I do mean excellent.
What is nice about PS120SE is that it is the same footprint as PA120SE, so pretty small.
I guess it isn't that small.. but compared to LGMRT, FC140, even...
I remember when I could have mine like that.. the good old days.
Life with a Torrent Compact does not allow such luxuries.. if you want the glass to close tight :D
My X5690 ES was a beast too, easily 250w with OC, I'm thinking more though, probably closer to 300w.. and I was using AS5. I wish all these new pastes were out back then,
Wolfedales were ok in the sense that at 4700MHz it was as strong as a stock Q6600 :D
In the end Yorktown's were the icing on the cake. So looking back to that socket specifically, anything under Yorktown and Wolfedales were best left to the past.
In spite of that I had an E6300 Conroe and it...
