Yeah the main issue I have with those is that this old ass OP7t has a Snapdragon 855+ which is still a good bit faster in all of those benchmarks than the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. It's likely not much of an issue since I don't play games on my phone but still...I'd like to not go backwards.
Right...
You don't need that much FPS. On my cheap 120hz Asus ULMB1 was already amazing and I would assume that it's less noticeable as you go up in refresh rate (in a similar way that the jump from 60 to 120 is a lot more noticeable than 120 to 240). The best way I can describe it is that movement was...
Had ULMB 1 on an old Asus monitor. The quality of motion with ULMB enabled was insane but the monitor also had to reduce the brightness by like half which left the overall image a tad dark for my liking. Hopefully ULMB 2 makes it into more monitors as it'll be great if they figured out the...
The current Moto Gs have way worse specs than my OP 7t that was released 4 years ago. I'd need to step up to an Edge 30+ in order to get something comparable from Motorola.
Basically it looks like my best options are to wait for a Pixel 7a/7 sale or grab a OP10/11 during one of the deals they...
I really liked OnePlus but their latest software updates to the 7t have been unacceptable. And now that Oppo owns them I trust them even less. Doesn't help that they've moved from OxygenOS to ColorOS.
I don't necessarily need 256GB. Just seems crazy to me that I bought the OP7t for $350 brand new about 3 years ago and it's specs are still higher than just about anything now that's not $600+
4070ti is $800-$900. While I think it would be a great card and I wouldn't be that worried about VRAM in the immediate future I would still be leery about dropping that much cash for one. For that much I'd grab a 7900XT and one might be able to luck into a XTX.
I guess we might find out. The fact that they owned up to it and opened a channel for those affected gives them some good will (IMO). If people take advantage of it and PowerColor drops the ball so be it. But if they rectify it relatively painlessly then maybe I'll look harder at them for the...

Looks like they're willing to fix it so good on PowerColor for identifying the issue and making it right.
The Android 12 update for my OnePlus 7t that came out late last year has basically ruined it and at this point I'm tired of dealing with it. I loved the 7t while it lasted and I'd go OnePlus again if not for the fact that the update has ruined all faith I had in them. I was waiting on the Pixel...

If you plug a 4090 into a PCIex to PCI adaptor does that make the 4090 bottleneck the K6? 🤔
I can see where some my be disappointed in the performance uptick but the overall performance and the new features like DLSS made it really enjoyable.
My dead 2080ti is completely dead. System will not post with it installed.
Lucked into a replacement 2080ti for free so I'm back in action. Same exact model (EVGA 2080ti Black).
I don't remember what memory modules the dead one has. I might tear the cooler off and check it out sometime.
I don't agree but everyone is welcome to their opinion. IMO BotW had some interactions that were initally pretty cool but quickly became tedious/mediocre. Yeah it was neat that you could set grass on fire and use the glider to get some air. It was also neat how trees and rocks would roll down...
My 2080ti just died today so now I'm forced to spend the cash. I must admit now that I'm without a modern GPU the 6950XT at $630 is a banger deal. But at the same time the 4070 is newer and I'm already having black screen flashes on the old RX570 that I have installed now. For another $200 the...
Well as fate would have it I came home to a PC that wouldn't POST. Turns out the 2080ti has just randomly died. Wonderful. Guess I'll be buying a new GPU after all.
I'd think long and hard before buying an old GPU.
lol. Imagine weapons breaking with every swing in Elden Ring. It would have been called one of the worst games ever made; unless they changed the name to Zelda Ring anyway. :D
Yep. I long for the days of Abit, DFI, and Epox. I'm pretty sure I still have an Epox board with an Athlon XP 1800 in it somewhere around here. I usually buy Gigabyte boards now but I realize that they're not any better than any of the other manufacturers. Whatever you buy it's all just the luck...
Same thing happened for me in BB. I usually blame it on the framerate and frame pacing but it's probably a combination of other factors as you mentioned. It sucks as I bought a PS3 mainly for BB and was never able to play for more than an hour or two. I've talked to others that say BB runs great...
I think this is a given when you take a look at the Steam Survey results and see that the most used GPUs are *050s and *060s. I don't think that the people that are going to spend $3-400 on a 7600/4060 care about max detail, 120fps, 4k AAA gaming. They're going to grab one of those new GPUs and...
From the reviews I've seen of TotK the durability is increased by fusing rocks and things to your weapons. IMO the BotW/TotK model of weapon breaking turns your weapons into resources and forces you to use those you don't like in order to save the ones you do. My BotW experience ended up with me...
I think it depends on what constitutes a "long time". My 2080ti is almost 4 years old and I'm seeing that people are still buying them for $350! That's about 40% of what I bought it for all those years ago (open box at MC). I'm tempted to sell it for that while I can and grab a 7900/4080.
Maybe if the weapons actually had durability. In BotW the combat was like smacking a wall with a paper towel tube; 3 whacks and you get a big "Your weapon is about to break" message over and over ad inifinitum. You spent more time switching weapons than you did fighting. Watching the reviews for...
4070 is new tech while the 2080ti is 3 generations old now (almost 4 years old). 4070 is better at RT, DLSS 3 + FG, AV1 encoding, lower power consumption, runs cooler, is quieter, newer display port standards, will receive better performance related driver updates, and has a warranty...
2080ti...
My 2080ti has been one of my favorite GPUs of all time. At 3440x1440 it is starting to show it's age but it still runs pretty much everything above 60fps at max settings and it does ok in 'most' games with RT on (and DLSS obviously). If I were in the market today I wouldn't get one though unless...
Here's Steve at HWUB saying pretty much exactly what I've been saying. The 6950XT is fine but not really compelling as it's old tech.
If you go to MicroCenter and talk to the employees they'll tell you that the 4000 series is selling about like the older cards did (cards didn't sell out...
Ehh, overall it's like 10-15% faster at 1080p/1440p and 20% at 4k going by TechSpot. TPU's numbers for the 6950XT are 5-10% higher than the 6900XT so overall I'd say it would work out to 10-15% faster on average over the 4070.
I wouldn't really consider the 4070 as a 4k card though and it...
Polaris/Vega are not really actively being supported outside of a few bug fixes here and there which is about where we're at with RDNA2. Just look at a few months ago when AMD turned all their attention away from the previous cards because the 7000 series was so busted at release. Hell it wasn't...
