Well...there actually IS a bad focus / fuzzy picture section there, but the real question is am I daring enough to go hunting for them. I didn't know there were focusing pots in it, and the fuzzy sometimes happening, stops, then does it again then stops doing it after a powercycle makes me...
Anyone ever get a temporary fuzzy/slightly out of focus image?
It’s happened to me twice. Once a few months ago and again this morning. Degauss didn’t do anything. Power cycling it makes the image clear again, and it’s been back to normal for an hour.
Please forgive my ignorance, but I am a curious soul. Couldn’t some type of replacement be created for it? What is so unique about flybacks if it can’t be duplicated!
Congrats on getting it working!
I'm curious, though. What exactly was the difference? That's the transformer or one of those little transformer units? And is there no possible way to get a replacement?
See this is why I brought up that OLED monitor. If a electrical pro can't even get the...
🤪 lol of course. I’m the last person to ever get offended or take anything the wrong way.
Viewsonic seems to be coming back strong again, and I used to like them. I’ll check out the Viewsonic XG2431. TY
Hehe…I’m always considering replacement options. I mean how long do we really expect our FWs to last? I only use mine for my gaming PC, and that sometimes doesn’t even see usage for a few weeks, but still.
How do you guys feel about a QLED as a possible replacement such as:

Ah yeah you right. Limits are:
Horizontal 121khz
Verticial 160hz
I was only curious to try to see if I could test the Startech that high for someone, but not if it can damage the FW.
That is an interesting list they posted. I'm still using the StarTech DP2VGAHD20 at 2235 x 1397 @ 83Hz, and it has been flawless. Has anyone offered to start doing that list, yet?
Ah I might as well join this intervention group.
Hi. I'm 48, and I game. lol
So my video gaming life started with an Atari 2600 off to an IBM XT, some clones, more clones, a little short whiles with a PS1, PS2, and PS4 with PC gaming, and now just PC gaming. I have no kids, neither does my...
UT2k4 and Onslaught were the best gaming years of my life. It had everything. Sci-fi, decent music, crazy action sequences, hilarious kills, insane tug of war sequences, I mean the list just goes on and on. I had a few home lan parties with 10-15 people playing it till sunrise. I think about...
I have to disagree with the broadband. I had lan parties up until 2010. What really killed it was the lack of custom servers. People were getting tired of playing the same games, and nothing new had custom configurable servers.

I tested the Startech and Delock at several different resolutions here.
Ok thanks guys. I’m not a reviewer. I’m upgrading from a 3770k to a 12900 and using my 3080 to the new rig. Obviously, I’ll have a huge difference in performance but seeing the actual numbers will be interesting.
For games that don’t have an in-game benchmark, how do people navigate what seems like the exact same route in a game for 2 videos?
I mean yeah, I think maybe they are doing the route manually, but surely there is an automated way?
I have on clue. When I started playing FPS in the 90s, I immediately got annoyed with WASD, and I instantly switched to the cursor buttons. I didn't understand why they would want you to have your movement keys buried in a sea of other keys. The cursor keys nicely isolates your movement keys...
I get really scared of console to PC games vs games that are released on console and PC at the same time. I guess 2077 kinda broke that rule now lol. So I waited it out and read many of threads on the Steam forums, saw pictures of glitches people were seeing, saw the patch notes as they rolled...
I got over 170 hours in the first play through about 6 months ago. I want to play it again, but I am not doing so until I see how the patches advance. The biggest changes I want to see are the AI (they need to be more difficult and smarter) and little things here and there like the cardboard...
Found some mentioned by another person! Here are the linkies in case anyone is wondering and needing the same:

Dang. I'm really going to need to hope for the best then! TY. I just noticed D5 descriptions usually state "A separate magnetic shielding of the pump is not needed." I might be able to get it 4-5 inches away if I go with a shorter reservoir.
I am externally mounting a reservoir with a D5 pump that could be a 1-3 inches away from the video cable. Is there any possibility of the magnets in the D5 messing with the video signal?
This is EXACTLY what I am worried about. I own a few obscure audio CDs that don’t even exist in the streaming world. A few years ago it happened to me with a movie I wanted to watch. I had to mail it to me from Netflix to watch it because it couldn’t be streamed anywhere. At some point people...
I stopped collecting BRs and stopped using my entertainment PC a while back because of how convenient all the streaming and saving of movies on the DVR was. I’ve gotten pretty annoyed with my new TV service deciding to only keep recordings for 90 days. Lately I’ve also gotten annoyed at...
So I bought Eternal on sale a few weeks ago.
I’ve enjoyed Doom since the 90s. I’m REALLY trying to like Eternal, but the closed in courtyard fights is annoying the snot out of me.
3dfan does have a point. With the tests that I did at 1920 x 1200 with that Startech, 97Hz (325Mhz pixel clock) was out of the FW900's range, but I was able to get 96Hz Viewable (322Mhz pixel clock) and under. At 2304 x 1440 I was able to get 78Hz Viewable (372Mhz pixel clock). Above 78Hz at...
I'd be afraid to suggest a USB-C adapter, though. Look what happened to me. I went from a 2070 Super that had the USB-C adapter to a 3080 that doesn't have a USB-C adapter. I have no clue why they dropped that port, but I think it is safe to say a specialized video port like the DP will stay...
