It’s for my sons. Trying to figure out if 2 is plenty or will I regret. They don’t have any ps5 games currently.
Thx for the heat sink recommendation. They charge a pretty penny for those but I’ll pick that up.
all input is welcome. im probably going to wait until the 7800x3ds come out bc i believe (possibly mistakenly) that the 7900x and 7950x will drop a tiny bit or the combo will include a higher mb. I dont actually have a budget so its not a big deal if i dont get the best deal but want to make a...
thank you for the very detailed response
i guess when i look at the microcenter site, it appears to have just that specific MB with the 7950x as a combo and by combo i mean the processor, MB, and ram.
https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/bundle-and-save.aspx
now i could just get the combo...
I am soon going to buy either a 7900x or 7950x combo deal from micro center.
Currently it’s bundled with
ASUS X670E-PRO PRIME WIFI
Is there a better mb such that it’s better to forgo the sale instead?
thanks for the suggestion. i just made it happen by running new world. when i tab out to windows, it is slow to open the windows. it unfortunately did not change anything. I have 64 gig of memory so im hard pressed to believe its a memory issue. Looking at HWM neither the cpu or the gpu...
I occasionally get this issue where the mouse lags on screen and I can’t figure it out. All temps for 5900x and 6900xt are good. I have two 4K monitors and this happens most commonly after a wake up but resolves with reboot
i have a 5900x on an msi x570 tomahwawk MB and trying to work out any kinks
i have tws 4 gen ssds both 2tb. one is samsung 980 pro and the other a sk hynix. the samsung is the boot drive but both m2s should be gen4
using partition magician i get these results
samsung
read 6819 mb/s write...
So I made sure to update the chipset drivers, video card etc
The problem onky occurs after waking from hibernation. Everything runs fine on initial boot up or a restart.
If I try to even hit ctcl alt del, it takes like 10 seconds for it to appear on the screen.
I guess I don’t understand why the 1000 although gold isn’t better given the above comments that there is minimal difference between titanium and gold?
Thx for the advice
I’ll try to remember super flower is good quality
Given todays prices though, how about this Corsair vs the other options for 150...
I’m creating a new build
Not sure which cpu but gpu will be 6800xt red devil
Newegg email has this psu on sale for 165
Is this a reliable enough company or should I just pay more for another brand?
I doubt he actually “need it”
The cost from 1 gig to 2.5 is minimal at the moment from att so I was thinking about it.
Will there be any benefit in common usage? Will my kids have an advantage in whatever video game or more importantly will I since I need an advantage.
Thanks so pretty much all the older gigabit switches don’t really go over 1 gigabyte vs the cat 5e which wasn’t originally designed but can typically do it over more reasonable runs
i have att fiber and most of my house is cat5e. Using speedtest.net i can get around 900 up and down on a good day. ATT now offers like 2.5 gB speed and im trying to figure out if i could possibly obtain speeds higher than i have currently. My current setup is for the fiber to go to the att...
Im not sure why this is happening but on a regular occasion especially after the computer wakes from sleep, i have ridiculous lag with the mouse. Ive also notice a substantial lag in games and cant figure out why?
I dont seem to be using more than 50% of my resources via task manager ever and...
ill probably just wait for the new amd chips to release in a few weeks. hopefully the 5900x will go on sale. i need that, a motherboard, cooler, a psu, and another windows to complete parts i have already.
i sort of have an extra 6800xt at the moment
my "main computer" is a 6900xt with a 5900x. I decided to put this in an older system that was running a 970. My impression without benchmarks is the games played on this system by the kids like war thunder arent any different but maybe im wrong...
I have a red devil 6800xt in a system with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz , 16 GB memory, and SSD HDs. Is it worth it to upgrade the CPU and motherboard for gaming at 1440p?
This monitor has USB ports and I’m thinking but not sure that the only way to access them is if I use DP and then connect the usb-c to my motherboard (not to the video card).
Yes it’s 60 hz at 4K. Decided not to splurge on higher at this size with 4K. I’m thinking of getting another one or a...
i purchased the lg 4k ultrafine ergostand monitor from costco and am pairing it with a 6800xt.
it comes with a usb-c cable but not a display port cable. would it be better to use the included cable or a DP cable for best performance?
I am using att fiber with near 1 gig at the router. It’s in a small apartment and I’m considering adding a newer WiFi card to the computer hoping for improved speeds (300 currently). Is that likely and if so what card to use. Currently using on board WiFi.
The apartment has two Ethernet jacks, one in each bedroom. I guess I’m hoping they are properly terminated on that end and for whatever reason this end wasn’t finished?
my son moved into an apartment and has att fiber 1 gig. the weird thing is atts box run into a closet next to the front door. if i speedtest from the att modem, i get 900 up and down but of course the wifi is much slower around 300 in this relatively small two bedroom apartment. If i added...
So like this correct?
how do you get it to accept it?
the fans seem to be running faster than I would anticipate for this
can you tell what I’m doing wrong?
thx for the suggestion
Thx
what’s the chances that replacing the stock fans for the Corsair liquid cooler reduces noise significantly?
im pretty sure they are the only things I hear
Thx
I’m not sure what I can realistically expect though
certainly the temps arent high enough to cause a crash. Not sure how to know if throttling occurs.
thinking of changing the cooler fans to noctura ones bc I hear the accompanying fans
