As a former Apple laptop owner of many years, I couldn't agree more. Modern Apple laptops (even the MBPros) are slowly becoming iPads with keyboards. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but I want a GPU in my laptop and I don't think my only option should be to drop $2000.

I don't understand this mentality. No one forces you to have all 10 of them running simultaneously. If you must have Steam open to speak to friends while playing a game on another service I seriously doubt your PC is potato enough to be strained by 2 programs.

It's actually impressive how bad that is. I'm no expert but I think you've got a defective one. Assuming the monitor's drivers are installed, your OS is running 32 bit color/set to 144hz in the OS/GPU driver settings and you've eliminated bad cables as a possibility I'd send it in for replacement.
