Last sentence in the review:
"The ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2070 O8G GAMING video card to have for the best 1440p gameplay in today’s latest games."
Needs editing.
Very nice review all around. The ASUS cards are really nice. I loved the 1070 STRIX, quiet and reliable.
Googling Halo yields so much stuff. Can someone give me a 2 sentence run-down about what this game has that is new, or what it should be compared to? I found out it's a sci fi shooter of sorts, is it like Prey? And is it SP or MP only, or both? Is the SP any good? Just looking for a few nuggets...
I would put it this way: anyone should be allowed to build whatever game they want. But if I were a publisher, I would not even consider using my platform to publish such garbage. Steam made a call according to their moral system.
People who make comparisons aka "if they censor or publish THIS...
I just ordered this, the deal is legit.
It's the ZOTAC Gaming RTX 2080 AMP for $660. Free expedited shipping, no tax outside of NY it seems; at least I ordered from PA and paid no tax.
You have to read this and go through that link.
I had to put this in my cart twice to see the discounted...
I'm wishing for AI to make a real difference in games. Can it make for smarter, more believable, more diverse enemies in SP games? I'll always have a PCI-E slot ready for that sort of thing.
I hate the advocacy for sexual abuse so frequent in these threads. Not just here.
This guy is being made an example of, something that in itself shows a weak justice system. I have no sympathy towards him or the crime, it's horrible and outrageous he did what he did. He should absolutely go to...
Please tell me if I am being ignorant but IME this started with DVDs and got much worse with Blu-Ray: I have to sit through commercials for other productions etc before I even get to a menu where I can start a movie. I've had a bunch of DVDs like that and eventually said fuck it. Streaming...
To me, the 2080Ti at $800-$900 would have been okay. Let me have a 2080 for $600-$700, 700 being a nice Asus card, and I'm alright. As it is a nice Asus 2080 on sale will be $830 and we don't have to talk about the Ti's.
Now you can call that misplaced but that is the exact sentiment I read a...
It really is time for better encryption everywhere. Then again how many people have been compromised with key loggers, where no encryption will save your bacon?
But I digress. Encryption is good and should be more plentiful, and most of all, well-implemented. It does help.
Some of the...
2 seconds of that was too much.
I think this sort of thing needs to be handled on multiple fronts. Yes, Youtube could be faster/better, that'll always be the case. People need to have conversations about uploading content with their children. Quite frankly, I never have seen the need to upload...
Yikes, more getting run into by people having their phones in their faces. Only now, instead of just looking down while walking, they'll have their phone cameras pointed at just about anything (and anyone.. next layer of functionality to come), giving it the Glasshole Creep Factor.
Oh well...
As it is, FF puts speaker icons on tabs where audio is played, and you can one-click mute those. Don't know if Chrome has that. I really feel FF is putting a ton of effort into end-user experience, more so than perhaps 3-4 years ago. The rendering back-end is first class and super fast, features...
Good on you to post this and apologize.
As far as the image choice, doesn't seem outrageous to me, I'd use an image I know I have the rights to as well.
Thank you for pointing that out. This is a real issue with the entire approach.
And for games where NV does not provide training data, well I guess they won't be lookin' so good. For instance older games, or indie games.
Perhaps NV is not being nefarious with this, but do I really need another...
Gonna have to get off that train then. Dam shame too, I use it to communicate with family overseas. That'll be an uphill fight to get them to change to anything else, because they already all use facebook. Guess I'll die.
Don't Pre-Order. How often does this have to be hammered home? They're not running out of digital copies.
Also EA doesn't get a pass on this. They're big enough and experienced enough that this should not happen. I'm filing this game under "also ran."
Nice review, very much strengthens my resolve to give NVIDIA the finger this time around. I'm no hater -- 1070 and G-Sync monitor -- but they need to be called out on this abortion of a video card.
I can really ignore the 2080Ti, it screams early adopter. Those folks know what they're getting...
Those things are expensive and completely unnecessary. But sure, I need to see how well someone's child is doing in high-def. If anything this is distracting at night.
I am not claiming to be CEO smart or anything, but look at the obvious: where can AMD make mad money? It's not gonna be GPUs, as much as we love them. It's CPUs and they are focusing it down like a hawk. I like her strategy. Ryzen 3 is going to be a fucking blowout of epic (hah!) proportions...
That was very cool, I remember it well. Give this RT thing 2 mote generations and it will be awesome. Thanks to those who are willing to bankroll it, I'm not, but I do appreciate others doing it!
I say people ought to know that companies and corporations will NEVER work in your interest unless it makes them money. Likewise, because data is today's gold, any data that can be harvested will be harvested, sold, sliced and diced. I don't think anyone can make a solid argument against that...
Is this the same Lexar from 10 years ago? I thought some time in the past few years Lexar went out of business, at least the CF/SD business? Their stuff was always top notch but I wonder if it still is.
My freenas box boots off 2 (mirrored) Lexar USB sticks, 16GB each, and it's been going...
He thinks the $350 2060 is a great deal, and I have to disagree with him. A $250 2060, that would have been a real deal. 6GB VRAM for $350 cards is ridiculous and insulting. An 8GB 2060 at $300, that would have been awesome. $350 for an 8GB version, still good. BUt I'm sorry 6GB really limits...
Could be a really good proposition for 4K gamers. RTX isn't powerful enough in the 2xxx chips to be usable in 4K, so a card with massive memory and good pixel pushing power like this could be really nice.
Maybe they want to make ThreadRipper a more mainstream element? I can't quite see a 12/16c making sense for a gaming rig, save for streamers and enthusiasts who the ThreadRipper might address.
"The fact is that Jensen Huang stood on that stage last night at CES and lied to you."
That's a strong statement and I think it is good to say. Doesn't look like the rest of the "tech sites" are doing any real analysis because everyone is lapping up this piece of crap 6GB $350 card.
If the 2060...
I think your analogy is not good.
Those with visual impairments or blindness, or deafness, aren't asking for media to be what it can't be. They are asking for augmentation, or slight alteration to make it work for them.
To your point, they're not asking for games to work completely...
