    Rise of the HiDPI Displays

I placed an order for one today as well, and I'm very excited about it. I sold my M32U here in January, in anticipation of the U3224KB -- scouring the web for any news about it every day since it was announced at CES. I've been using an Apple Studio Display in the meantime, and I'll be glad to...

    Rise of the HiDPI Displays

Today's update of the MSRP price list dropped the U3224KB to $2,999. After the eventual discount that should bring it to around $2,399. oem-msrp-price-list-may-04-2023.pdf (delltechnologies.com)

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

The great thing about 8K is you should be able use integer scaling to play at 4K while still having the HiDPI for work. However, I tried that with a UP3218K before I returned it, and an RX 6800 XT didn't offer the option to enable integer scaling for it. I don't know if that was due to the use...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

I have a counter prediction. Apple will be the first to offer an 8K OLED with 120Hz. It'll be amazing but will cost twice what anyone wants to pay for it. It'll be years later before there is any competition. :)

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

There are some Mini LED 32" 8K panels listed on DisplayNinja. Maybe we'll see some displays built using these panels in the next couple years. New Monitors In 2023: What To Expect [Professional, Gaming] (displayninja.com)

    Rise of the HiDPI Displays

I agree on the not wanting to shell out big money for IPS, but I think we're years away from having a high PPI/high refresh rate OLED. It seems as if everything on the market is a stop-gap solution while we wait for OLED to become mainstream.

    Rise of the HiDPI Displays

I've been watching the Dell site for information on the U3224KB. They just posted the data sheet with specs this week, and there is an MSRP price list that has it at $3,190 US. It will likely be available in May. https://www.dell.com/en-us/dt/search.htm#q=u3224kb&sort=date descending

F02 UPS failure with specific PSU

That's an interesting thought. I hadn't considered that, so thank you for sharing. The new PSU is 1200W, but the UPS is 1000VA. The old PSU is 750W. So maybe that's why it works with the old but not with the new. I bought more PSU than I need so that it will remain in the passive fan mode most...

F02 UPS failure with specific PSU

I purchased an NZXT C1200 for my new build, and it immediately tripped my UPS with F02 failure on first boot. The alarm went off with F02 on the UPS screen, and it required turning power off and back on to reset. That seems to indicate a short in the battery, but this is a new battery (just...

SOLD: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT (Reference Card)

Haha! Yes, I have dropped the price down quite a bit since posting. I thought about putting in on eBay just to see what I can get for it there, but I haven't sold anything on eBay in over a decade.

    SOLD: Gigabyte M32U Gaming Monitor

Yeah, the KVM is very useful with being able to have a single monitor for working and playing. :) I tried to price it a little lower since it has a stuck pixel. I read that with the panel used in the M32U that is fairly common. I didn't realize it had a green pixel until after my return period...

    SOLD: Gigabyte M32U Gaming Monitor

I purchased this display new from Best Buy in September. It's in same as new condition, but there is a single stuck green pixel. The position of the pixel can be seen in the attached image M32U-4.jpg. There is some slight backlight bleed along the left side. I compared to the RTINGS review, and...

Will CES 2023 Have 8K 60Hz+ Monitors? OLED etc.?

I have both a 32" 4K and a 27" 5K, and at a normal viewing distance there is a significant difference in text clarity on the 5K. I can even see some aliasing around some characters when reading text on the iMac, so I imagine the higher pixel density of 8K at 32" would look better. An 8K 32"...

    Aorus FI32U - @ $950(USD} -- For Sale Now

This is from the RTINGS review: "Update 08/17/2021: We were able to confirm that although the Gigabyte AORUS FI32U supports HDMI 2.1, it's limited to 24Gbps, and relies on Display Stream Compression (DSC) 1.2a for anything that requires higher bandwidth. This introduces some limits on the...
