So as I have said before... toggling off Furry Object produced noise for me but now it is complete silent. I can not hear a thing.
BUT, there is every so slight, very very extremely low level of coil whine noise (i have to get close and concentrate to hear it) with the...
To those of you talking about whether or not coil whine / buzzing (non fan related) is a issue or not. It is a technical issue.
I don't know know about other manufacturers but Asus tech did tell me that at a factory settings there should not be any sort of noise as such and is considered...
As for coil whine/buzz... it is now very very low to non but on a full load now I can hear a very low level of whine noise.
Even doing the FurMark furry object off does not produce noticeable coil whine anymore. I mean there still is but very very low level of noise now.
Last night before I going out for a dinner I decided to test my GPU overclocking with FurMark.
I only overclocked the GPU core for 185MHz+, +10mV, 110% Power Limit, Custom Fan speed set to 50% max and during FurMark boosted clock speed showed as 1501MHz at around 63C steady...
Make sure that all of you report this to your manufacturer as well and see what they say.
Asus told me if the noise bothers me I should exchange it to where I bought it from since these GPS are very new.
At least for me I can take a short drive to Asus service center of I have to. One...
Captured a short video for anyone who want to be bothered by it...
Turn on annotation & don't mind the fan noise... very low in person.
I just noticed something else..
While running a Burn-In FurMark without AA, CPU is fully loaded but core clock is only around 980MHz. (no buzz/whine)
But toggling off the fur cause core clock to run higher at around 1317MHz but load is only around 45%. (now with buzz/whine)
I just received a email from ASUS and support told me it is not possible to use both DVI ports same time as it is configured on same chip.
Told me I can use in following configuration.
DVI/VGA + HDMI
HDMI + VGA/DVI
But damned support forgot to reply back with my other question as to why DVI-D...
Asus GeForce GTX 970 Strix DVD-D port isn't detecting my monitor.
MY dual display (both DVI) worked well with my previous GPU (GTX 670).
Anyone else experience this? Likely a hardware issue? vBIOS?
Anyone else with GTX 970(any brand) could check theirs? (If you have a monitor...
I have a Asus GTX 970 and I too here this buzz/whine noise...
but what is strange for me is... it does not always make noise but I can 100% cause it to reproduce this noise.
I ran a FurMark Burn In to load it up but clock speed wasn't reaching its max, I had to enable 8X...
Bought a Samsung LN40E550 for my parents and I did do a quick test after I had it setup for them.
I connected my Dell Vostro with Intel HD3000 GPU HDMI to HDMI1 on TV and 'chose' the label PC or PC-DVI and instantly I could properly read the texts and all looked nice and sharp and it was...
Galaxy GeForce GTX 670 2GB (reference board, reference cooling)
Default core clock 915MHz, memory 6008MHz.
Using EVGA Precision X 3.0.2 + EVGA OC Scanner X to test.
Power target 122%
GPU Clock offset +150MHz
Mem clock offset +250MHz
Core boosting to average of 1234MHz, memory 6500MHz...
What would be the recommended cooler design of Radeon HD 6950/6970 for crossfire setup?
Would reference design be better since it is designed to vent to rear ?
or typical non-reference cooling is enough?
My motherboard is on sig. + case is Antec 300.
You can wait a bit more until retailers get boards in stock than do a refund and get a replacement than... I mean it is not like your board has stop functioning or anything, right? As far as I remember we have until end of June 2011 to get the free replacement right? Not sure how long we have...
I just did the swap today and noticed that some hardwares (motherboard components) had to be re-detected. Bunch had a (!).. but after few minutes it all got detected and drivers installed.
BUT! my Windows 7 did asked to "Activate my windows" again.
After waiting for two weeks and still not able to get my RMA number.
Today I decided to take my motherboard directly to ASUS SERVICE CENTER CANADA myself. I walked in with my case number and explained to them the issue not being able to get a RMA for two weeks I was answered by a very...
wow this is )#(&*%.
Called 3 times with each being on hold for average of 15 minutes or so and when finally it rings for rep to answer... it hangs up. Once rep hung up on me instead of hold... geez~
during the RMA process, is there a instruction on how we should package the board?
Do we have to put back every accessories and packages?
Also, does anyone know if we can just walk in to one of Asus Service Centers to get it exchanged ? I live near one in markham, ontario, canada
What would the manufacturers going to with all the returned motherboards ?
Would they be stripping out every components that can be re-used?
I would buy those returned motherboards if they would sell it for dirt cheap price.
I just wouldn't use those Serial ATA 3.0 Gbps ports.
So replacement can only be done through Asus?
and refund be done through where I have purchased from? Is there a time frame as to until when I can get it refunded?
Finally, I live about 20 minutes away from Asus Service Centre of Canada.
Can I just walk-in myself to get replacement?
Asus P8P67 PRO + 2500K + Thermalright MUX-120
With BIOS version 1003, my max was 46x100 @ 1.4v (i actually never bothered to test it with lower vcore).
Regardless of what Vcore I set to, system would freeze at Widows boot with 47x multiplier.
I just updated my BIOS to latest 1204 and what a...
I have P8P67 PRO aswell and it did ship with the "crappy" BIOS that Kyle talked about.
Which isn't even a official shipping BIOS from Asus.
My 2500K ran @ 3900MHz as Turbo speed when it should be 3700MHz.
I updated the BIOS to 1003 and it was detected and worked as it should.
Now I am...
Here is my experience with this board.
I purchased it yesterday at N-SEE-EYE-EX(Canada) along with 2500K & Muskin 8GB 1333MHz.
I Installed everything and powered on just to fine out that I wasn't getting any video signal. Double checked my Radeon 4890 to my now previous computer and it is...
What type of future does Socket 1155 have ?
