The amusing thing is that in the 90s and 00s, Micro Center had terrible prices and policies. It was where you went to find 'miscellaneous' stuff, and the only thing that really set them apart is that for the longest time they had 30-day returns on *software*. Sometime between then and now...
Also, that drive is only 'faster' when plugged into an X570 board since the speed comes from PCIe 4.0. Plug it into a 3.0 board and you ~might~ get maybe 100MB/sec more.
It's OOS at the Fairfax and Rockville store, but the Parkville/Baltimore store still has a few in stock and ready for in-store pickup.
These are really desirable items, and if I remember, MCs get their new shipments on Tuesdays, so check tomorrow or Wednesday, since their website stock...
Again, a reminder for those who can hit up B&M stores - the RetailMeNot $5 off $30 coupon is still valid. Just Google RetailMeNot Micro Center and print it out.
Maybe, but raw R/W speed is one thing - the holy grail is an affordable Optane/Z-NAND solution that not only has extremely high R/W...
To be fair, the 2700X 50AE comes with Division 2 Gold, which has an MSRP of ~$100 (at least until the exclusivity period ends). So if you were planning on buying that *and* a 2700X (which is dumb given how soon the Ryzen 2s will be launching), it's not as *much* of a ripoff.
This isn't normally $400 - it's normally $800. And ~free shipping~ on a Lego kit where the box weighs 30 pounds? Yeah, no.
It should also say a lot that it says "Secure with PayPal" and then never provide a way to use them.
This would be too cheap by ~$200 even if it was a Chinese "Lepin"...
No reason to go through Amazon at all when Micro Center's still selling the whole range of drives via their Web Store: https://www.microcenter.com/product/600422/1tb-3d-nand-m2-2280-pcie-nvme-30-x4-internal-solid-state-drive
(just be sure you're buying the right drive - check the packaging...
They've yet to hit retail channels. My guess is they released too early and Seagate's having the entire line updated to 12.2 so they don't have to explain to consumers that there's a destructive firmware update they have to do.
Yeah, if you don't get a blister pack with a black backing, Micro Center packed the wrong drive. Also, for those who can get it at a B&M store, RetailMeNot still has a valid $5 off $30 coupon good until 4/30 to absorb some of the sales tax.
I've already got a BPX Pro that I flashed with 12.1...
I honestly think instead of murdering us all, the AI that eventually will enslave humanity will have more in common with ARIIA from the movie Eagle Eye than SkyNet.
Likely only going to get worse - I wonder if we're going to see a return to the 'bad old days' where a computer is a huge purchase on the same level as buying a car. You used to have to spend $1500 for entry-level computers.
Google Express has two current promo codes - FALLSAVINGS for 20% (max $20) off your first purchase, and APPSAVE25 for 25% off (max $30) when using the Google Express app. Best Buy is selling the G502 HERO for MSRP, but using either code knocks ~$18 off. Logitech won't be discounting the...
And here I got all excited until I realized the only thing it was taking money off of were the SATA III cables I had in my cart. Took nothing off the Displayport and network patch cable. =/
Yeah, it wasn't me who asked, but what I'm worried about price-wise with this board is the 17 phase VRM. The only other Z390 boards packing power delivery like that are close to $500.
The inclusion of the Creative sound chip will likely add at least $20-30 to the board as well. EVGA also...
After hearing EVGA's fixed their Vdroop problem, this is going to be my board for the next 5+ years. Only I keep periodically checking their storefront page and sorting by 'highest price' waiting for it to pop up, and no dice. Anyone got any information about the release date?
If you have trouble getting the PH-1 to do calls on Verizon, switch your band to Global. Spent 2 1/2 hours at a VZW store doing everything but throwing this thing against the wall to get it to do anything except access the internet and send text messages, but the second I set the wireless band...
MC is down to $198 on their website - it might be slightly cheaper in store. The 500GB is listed at $109, but I paid $98.99 before tax at the Fairfax VA B&M. Came out to $104.93 after tax.
Or.....maybe enough people are subscribed to Netflix during a TV season 'lull' that this is the only thing on, and it's benefiting from the "what the hell" factor. This sounds a lot like Netflix trying to play the ~FAKE NEWS~ card on critics, when in truth, their viewers are 'jailhouse gay'...
Not only is it on Steam for $8.99, the Digital Deluxe edition is $13.48. Buying both the game and season pass on Newegg is $16.48. And if you already have a good amount of Deus Ex games, there was a bundle (for me) that included both DEMD plus the Season Pass for $12.20.
Code still works - I almost bit (simply because driver support for my SB Z is pretty lacking), but I kind of want to save that $105 in the hopes Dell puts their 34" Ultrawide on sale again just before or after Christmas.
I don't work for Dell, but there's almost always a sale between Christmas and New Year's. Gotta cash in on all that Christmas gift money as well as earn more before the end of Q4.

Steam knew they were going to do this, so they unloaded them for ~$15-20 before. I've no clue if the game they're bundling with it is worth it, but hey. As said below, S&H kind of 'kills' the deal - or at least brings it in...
This is a shockingly bad idea:
"Amazon Prescription service mistakenly fills child's antibiotic prescription with narcotics"
"Drug Ring busted in Amazon Prescription distribution center after discrepancies discovered"
Pharmacies might be a relic of the past, but they're at least a 'gatekeeper.'
It's entirely possible that this wasn't a price mistake - but rather some 'enterprising assholes' decided they were going to sell these for $399 on eBay and still undercut Amazon and Newegg.
They're evidently canceling orders (no word on all or if those which have already been processed are fine) and the listing for the 1TB is off their website, both in local and in the 'web store.'
A deal so nice, I posted it twice...then locked my duplicate thread.
This is almost definitely going to get bulk bought and resold if Amazon and Newegg don't match it. I'm almost tempted to bite myself and just hold onto it for my next build as a main boot drive, since all I could do with it...
