    Grim Dawn Alpha starts tomorrow

If you find the game a bit too grindy or simply like loot piñatas I highly recommend Smash n Grab mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/grimdawn/mods/45?tab=description

    jagged alliance 3

I am tentatively hyped for this.. Especially since they have Ian Currie, an original game designer on board. https://www.shacknews.com/article/133756/jagged-alliance-3-ian-currie-original-designer

    Dead Island 2

Only reason I haven't picked it up yet is cos it sounds a bit lacking in depth. I'd buy it in a cinch if I knew the character progression and loot is on point.

    Showgunners - Cyberpunk Turn-based Strategy (XCOM-like)

This one looks like it could be a bit of fun. Releasing in less than a day. Early reviews have been positive.

    Magic Carpet 2 HD

Many of you older gamers may remember the 90's classics Magic Carpet 1 & 2. Magic Carpet 2 was notorious for being an unstable game that crashed with a fair degree of frequency. I stumbled upon this project on GitHub that is giving Magic Carpet 2 a much needed revamp that will allow it to run...

Pretty savage move dropping this update right on Dead Island 2 release date

I love the timing for Techland to drop this update for Dying Light 2. Well played :D

    Dead Island 2

Too bad pretty graphics will never make up for a lack of substance in a game.

    Dead Island 2

I suspected this was going to be the case. Everything about it sounds decidedly average.

    Everspace 2

I'm using mouse and keyboard and apparently this is what the devs recommend. Supposedly it plays fairly well with controller but I haven't tested it out personally. There is a demo on steam you can give a try to see if it works for you.

    Everspace 2

I've been playing a bit more and the game is starting to grow on me. There are a huge amount of hand-built areas and some of the highlights take place inside asteroids that resemble the old shooter Descent as you traverse cave systems and mines. Coupled with the general space exploration...

    Everspace 2

It's fun but there are some repetitive mechanics that will make people lose interest after a while. One thing I don't like about the game is that even when using the jump drive, it can take a while to get between destinations. You CAN unlock faster travel by completing challenges for each...

    Tainted Grail

Going to let this one bake. This kind of game really needs to have the polish and finish of a 1.0 release.

    EA PGA Tour 2023

Seems like it's the year of golf with PGA Tour 2K23 only released a few months back, now EA is back after a long hiatus from the genre. Releasing in a day or so I'm looking forward to seeing how it shapes up against 2K's entry. Some key points: Will be using Frostbite engine Will feature 30...

Diablo IV - The Real Official Thread

The game is very pretty and the story and cutscenes are extremely well done but I can't say I enjoyed the overall experience that much. 1. The potion mechanic is awful. It feels far too gamified having key points on a boss bar where health potions will drop. 2. "Normal" difficulty needs some...

    Dead Island 2

Yeah, certainly not open world. At least (I hope) it wont have a bunch on redundant filler like a lot of open / semi-open world games. Will probably be fun for a one-and-done playthrough but probably when it's on sale.

    Dead Island 2

You can tell that the game has suffered through a long development. The FLESH system does look pretty good but unfortunately I think the game is going to be fairly average overall. You can't lean on a gameplay gimmick to carry the title entirely. I think the novelty will wear off fairly quick...

    Forspoken

Another scathing review... It's great having people like ACG and Matty who always tell it like it is. This is a HARD PASS for me. Sounds like it's been made for the TIKTOK generation.

    Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

I am interested how they've decided to split the games and possible meld them but I can only see myself enjoying one. Mirage - Back to basics Assassins Creed like the originals Red - The one I'm most interested in due to it's Japan setting and RPG dynamics Hexe - Still not even sure what that...

    Dead Island 2

Looking at the trailer, I gotta admit the FLESH procedural gore system does look very impressive. Hopefully the actual gameplay is decent and it isn't a buggy, janked out mess after changing hands so many times. Looking forward to see some more FLESHed out gameplay videos.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen coming to PC

Ahh ok. I would still recommend you take advantage of them. They are quite central to the gameplay in terms of support. It's quite a unique game mechanic also. If you haven't already, I highly recommend watching the starting out video guide I posted previously. It has some excellent tips.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen coming to PC

I played melee character and the game is challenging but not overly difficult. I used pawns though so your mileage may vary. Any particular reason you aren't using pawns?

Diablo IV - The Real Official Thread

The auction house absolutely ruined the core gameplay experience of gaining loot for character progression. Uniques were so rare I only got ONE in my first playthrough at release. A pair of fucking Frostburn Gauntlets from Diablo 2 hahaha. Loot 2.0 should have been the standard from the beginning.

    Diablo Immortal PC Build

I think Rhykker has a pretty good take on it and has the same mindset as me. I'll enjoy the game until that paywall rears it's ugly head then I'll wash my hands of it. Really you shouldn't be hitting a paywall until endgame.

    Diablo Immortal PC Build

Probably in the minority here but I enjoyed what I played of it. Went in fully expecting a mobile experience. Haven't had to grind or feel any pay to win / progress yet but will likely uninstall if it gets to that point.

    Diablo Immortal PC Build

It sounds like the PVP will be pay to win but not so much for the PVE. There might be some additional grinding with the PVE but supposedly there are quite a few activities to change things up. I'll be giving it a try but if I hit a wall then it's gettin nuked immediately. I'm interested to see...

Did Samsung ever release their EzCal TV calibration app?

Interesting. Just did another google search and it looks like it's only just debuted with a Samsung projector. I wonder if it's going to come to recent TV models in a firmware update. "Tucked away in The Freestyle’s menus is a decent selection of set-up aids, including a flexible manual...

    QN90A Owners Club

These are really good tips! Interesting note about the sharpness, I was wondering why text was quite blurry and setting it to 10 fixed that. Thanks for that. Although it's not ideal for a work environment, I'm probably going to live with the local dimming as I'll be using the screen...

Did Samsung ever release their EzCal TV calibration app?

I heard a lot of buzz around this app in early 2021 but cannot for the life of me find if it was ever released. Since I just got a new Samsung TV I was quite excited to give this calibration tool a try but I cannot find it anywhere! If the app hasn't been released, are there any worthwhile TV...

    QN90A Owners Club

Interesting, I wasn't aware of this. To my eye everything looks fantastic but I can see how this might be an issue for those people using it for design work (such as myself actually) in photoshop etc where color accuracy is super important. I won't be using this for much design work though so I...

Just received my Samsung QN90A 55" yesterday after upgrading from a Sony X900F. Calling it a major upgrade would be an understatement! After dialling in the settings, this TV looks absolutely stunning in 4K 120hz with G-Sync enabled. The brightness is fantastic! Tried out some HDR gaming and...

    Shadow Warrior 3

I really hope they go back to the SW2 formula in a future title. It doesn't even have to be the Shadow Warrior IP. I'd be happy to see them make anything with the looter shooter / RPG mechanics again in the future. I really enjoyed that game.
