so.. Im still riding my 1080ti FE. wanted 3080 since launch, but availability, then whack pricing, made me pause..
so here we are, almost 2 years later... thought I would check availability on a lark.. and wow.. cards are out there. so.. upgrade now.. or wait for 40xx series...
3440x1440 main...
man, I LOVE my Jerker. freaking best product ever. bought it in 12/07! had it 13 years now, doesn't look a day over 1 yo. :p I still can't believe Ikea stopped selling them. fools!
jfc. what a nightmare. I appreciate the contribution of "how to's", but as others have said, despite really wanting a 30xx series, screw this. Ill just wait until its a standard purchase process. I mean, wtf. 3 mos post launch, still having to play hax0rz to get product? screw em
I too, have given up trying, for the most part. I dont think there is a solution, either. as someone above mentioned, I can personally reset my timeline, to 6 months post launch.
it's a relatively new build pc (1 year), open case, good air flow. possibly, the card itself may need reseating the cooling solution I guess.. (1080ti FE), but I think Pulsar is right, the blower wasn't a great solution. thanks for the responses folks. for now, Ill dial the setting in experience...
the experience always says.. "ya, max it out! no sweat!"
but whenever I even try it, it goes straight to thermal max.
even simple stuff: these days, Im playing FFXIV on my Asus PG348Q (34" UW) 3440x1440 full screen, and there is a 1080p side mounted on hdmi, on my 1080ti. Last night, I tried...
it was really, kind of disgusting, actually. like others I was on lots of sites, went from notify to sold out, instantly.
and briefly, even the nvidia store was showing scammers links to $1500 for a 3080.
so, my displays are Asus pg348q (3440 x 1440) and a peripheral 1080p side monitor. currently on a 1080ti. that has a struggled a bit running high settings, even wow, or ff14
given the claims of a 3070 beating a 2080ti, then a 3080 would be a significant ug for me then?
I Bought my Asus 34" ( Asus PG348Q ) Ultrawide last year ish. at lest a year ago, seems like I've had it longer.
3440x1440
Love it! 99hz gsync, just fine. Im a MMO player, so, ya, dont require crazy refresh, just stable.
true. Im looking forward to checking it out, just the same. I also imagine it will loose some of the elitest air about the community after a month or so. the script kiddies wont stick around for the grind!
I've been playing off and on since vanilla as well. Currently playing a fair amount. Ill try it, but as many above stated, many QOL improvements are good, not bad. I can chuckle about it, but I never found it to be "immersive" to spend 20 minds in RL, running somewhere. that's absurd. and yes...
Bro, I was going to start my own new thread on this very topic. Was gravitating towards Asus, but i have had a good experience with Gigabyte in the past too. leaning towards 9700k, wanting to get to 5gh, no need for wifi or creation. mostly wow gamer. coming form my aging 2600k in sig. still...
true! "let's not get emo here" GREAT POINT thank you. lol
i dont care if it's dx11 or dx12, my only point is that I get to continue to enjoy my investments of the ti and the PG348Q =)
Battle for Azeroth is coming in a month. pre patch next week. I was disturbed to see this posted:
"Don’t Forget: Update Your Drivers!
To make the most of Battle for Azeroth and avoid potential issues, it’s important to update to the latest DirectX 12 drivers. Please note that AMD and Intel GPUs...
being an early adopter kind of guy, I bought the killer nic back in the day when they first launched. the marketing made sense.
the product ...did not. they through users under the bus, immediately. software never really worked etc. sadly, a great idea, that was only pimped for the cash, with...
got the updated Chrome a few days ago. Version 64.0.3282.119 (Official Build) (64-bit)
since then, the app opens quickly, but takes literally 2-3 mins to complete loading? as in, will not connect, etc. I removed all addons, etc. still same. anyone else seeing issues? or shall I look for other...
it was a DBL xp week or something. enjoying just getting back to this game, after a 4 year hiatus. Joined dan's guild. unrelated, I ended up getting into a heroic Mission yesterday, that had a crazy fast respawn rate, with the xp boost etc.. went from 37-70! in a few hours. lol. still doing...
so I recovered my account. my main was a 55 counselor.. republic. got spammed with recovered item mail messages. kind of overwhelming for the moment.. beginning to look at that character's skills and such, ui changes, etc. I enjoy a Asus PG348Q (34" g-sync Ultra wide 3440x1440) powered by a...
ya know dan.. Im going to fire up my old account and see whats up. at that place in wow now, where last raid done..etc.. no point in raising new toons, they nerfed the leveling xp, etc. ths thread has me thinking. my previous main was a dps counselor.. think Ill run something new. I hate needing...
I think I left when WoD came out in WoW, and haven't gone back since. But I loved SWToR too. Still a daily WoW player, but legion is drawing to an end, and the usual lag before next expansion requires something new, was thinking destiny, but maybe Ill go back check SWToR, I loved that it can...
at 34 wider. Curved is a must. I didn't think I would like that aspect of my ASUS PG348Q, but damn, I really love this display. gaming or productivity. best IT purchase Ive made in a while
a month + in, and a quick follow up. I could not be happier with this purchase. this display is amazing. I can not even imagine going back to any less.
here's the simple point: if you sit fairly close, then 34" UW vertical is a NON Issue. - most brains do not process visual data outside of a fairly narrow band,.. if you sit back, as the 45"+ folks must, otherwise there is a whole lot of data outside your FOV.. then verticle pixel height would...
