    Z370 for Sli

Question, I have. 5930k 4.6ghz, 3200mhz ram on X99 deluxe that runs Titan X SLI Pascal. I considered upgrading this to 8700k for 5ghz and a Maximus X Code board. Since my old board and CPU support both gpus at 16x will this be a bad upgrade since they will now both run at 8x. I game at 4K...

I used to sit about 3 feet away from my 48" and I never did feel like I had to look around. The key to no eye strain is 4K. Anything lower at that size and there would be some serious eye strain. I did however move my screen so its more like 4' away so that it doesn't sit in the middle of my...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

I have an el-cheapo Vizio LCD plugged into a Denon receiver and the receiver plugged into a display port to HDMI convertor cable. The nvidia drivers allow 8bit color and 12bit color. There is no way this Vizio tv is capable of 12bit color. Also, if I bypass the receiver and go directly from...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Nvidia allowed 10bit color with their consumer gpu's some time ago, but your right, at one time you had to either have Quaddro or AMD to get 10bit. So if its not possible with HDMI 2.0 because of bandwidth limitations what is the point in making the display 10bit color capable? Wouldn't you...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

I guess I assumed HDMI 2.0 meant 18Gbps available bandwidth. So assuming there is 18Gbps to play with that is enough bandwidth for 4K, RGB or 4:4:4 8bit color, 60hz and enough left over for HDR? EDIT: I see that there are 24 gauge HDMI cables on Amazon that claim 21Gbps, is that probably a...

Just curious, is there any benefit to HDR if HDMI 2.0 doesn't support it? You would need HDMI 2.0a right?

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Wasn't something I was really looking for as I only use it to game. I kinda figured 4:4:4 60hz 4k 10bit color might be outside of hdmi 2.0 spec but I couldn't find anyone on the Internet asking this question as I was curious.

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Hi, I own a JU7500 40" that I use with my Titan X SLI setup. I have never been that happy with the screen. So I have upgraded to the JS9000 48". It hasn't arrived yet but I was curious if this screen is capable of 10bit color and if I will be able to select 10bit color in the Nvidia drivers...

Yeah that way we can decide if we want the firmware or not. Sometimes a firmware update can remove or break features that we were previously enjoying.

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

So I tried enabling game mode, text became a little bit clearer. What I don't understand is UHD color still says its enabled in the tv's properties and Nvidia drivers still says RGB is enabled. I thought game mode prevented all those from working and would default it to 4:2:0
  15. K

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

I thought game mode disables 4:4:4 or RGB so I have kept that mode off.Is it possible that even though Nvidia says I am in RGB that it is incorrect?
  16. K

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Titan X SLI I have game mode off. Only PC mode with UHD color enabled. I have RGB selected in Nvidia, I have tried 4:4:4 and 4:4:2 but the RGB setting seems to look the best but still letters look funky.

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

I just recently got a Samsung 40" JU7500. I have RGB 8bit enabled in Nvidia and I am using the picture guide in the Samsung 4K tv as a monitor thread. Games look gorgeous but text at the desktop has this blurry chromatic aberration look to it. Like there is this rainbow hue around each...

    Overclocking my new system

Hi, Just ordered a new system and of course I will be looking to overclock it soon. Just wondering how DDR4 speeds are going to play into the max overclock of my CPU and what I should realistically be looking to set my XMP to on my ram to also get a good overclock on my CPU. This is what I...

    Dell P2715Q / P2415Q (3840x2160p, IPS, sRGB)

I have the P2715Q, just wondering if its possible to overclock this montitor past 60hz? Anytime I have tried it through the Nvidia control panel or pixel clock in Precision X anything past 60hz, even if its 61hz instantly goes black and has a Dell notice saying that it isn't supported. Is this...

    4930K to 5960X for gaming

Well I keep flip flopping between the 5960x, 5930K, or waiting to see what the 6700K Skylake is capable of. Not sure I want to drop below 6 cores but who knows Skylake could prove to be a beast with only 4 cores.

    4930K to 5960X for gaming

Mostly AAA titles like Witcher 3, GTA V. No problems other than I game at 4K and most games are in that 50 to 60 fps range and it would be nice to be able to maintain that 60fps and have some extra breathing room instead of being right on the edge. So maybe a 5930K is a better upgrade then a...

    4930K to 5960X for gaming

Would a 5960X at a typical overclock of 4.2ghz to 4.4ghz offer any increased gaming performance over a 4930K @ 4.5ghz. Rest of my system is in my signature. Or would it make more sense to go 4 core Skylake 6700K.

That is interesting that you got DSR enabled with the 4K tv. Maybe its because your connected up through HDMI and i'm Displayport

DSR 4K vs 4k GPU issue

Well I hadn't intended to do DSR with a 4K monitor. That is good to know though. Thanks for that Mainly I'm just trying to figure out why I have poorer performance with actual 4K versus 1440p at 4K DSR.

DSR 4K vs 4k GPU issue

I just loaded up assassins creed unity to compare, granted I hadn't tried this one at 2K to 4K DSR so I don't know how it did on my old monitor at 4K dsr. It is reported 98 to 99 percent GPU utilization. All possible settings maxed out 3840X2160, 2X msaa, around 50 fps, 9.1gb of vram used...

DSR 4K vs 4k GPU issue

DSR 4K vs 4k GPU issue

It had to be working to some degree, there was a pretty big visual difference by turning it on and a large fps hit between 1440p and 1440p @4K dsr. Besides my GPU usage being about 98% my power usage on each card was 100% on one and 105% on the other. With actual 4K my power usage hovers...

DSR 4K vs 4k GPU issue

I took steam offline, moved those files to my desktop, started up the game and all the graphics settings were default again. I guess they are stored on steam as well. Either way didn't seem to help the low gpu utilization.

DSR 4K vs 4k GPU issue

DSR 4K vs 4k GPU issue

I had been playing Witcher 3 at 1440p with 4K DSR enabled. I purchased a 4K monitor, and I assumed the FPS hit would be similar between the two. With 4K DSR I had around 98% GPU utlilization and about 55 to 60 fps. Just having an actual 4K monitor with No DSR, same graphics settings my GPU...

    Titan X throttling

Should I try increasing the vram more? I havent explored the upper limits of that yet. I just didn't know if it was worth it since the vram on the titan x tends to run fairly hot. I have a 200mm fan blowing on the side of the cards, 140mm blowing on the back, and a 140mm above them exhausting.
