The GTX family of products are definitely great choices for gaming machines... but what struck me when reading over the write-up was how close the family members perform compared to each other. Tight spacing!
Or at least it'svery close on a single monitor. Maybe the value for the higher end...
Recent upgrades since last posts... new gpu, GTX 670 which has been a nice replacement of the GTX480. Performance is great, and heat output is down.
A littler further back... I had swapped the SSD to a larger 128GB, added a 3TB secondary HD, and a clean Win7x64 somewhere along...
Played with the cables some... and cleaned up the case.
Along the way, identified Corsair as XMS3-1600 9 9 9 24 1.6V DDR3.
PSU has the second harness cable for SLI / CF. I brought it down along the hard drive chasis, to make adding a second card easy if I go that route...

At some point I'll have to work on the case interior cabling... but you at least can get a feel for the layout.
Just to let everyone know... new pc arrived in great shape, no issues.
Booted right up. So far everything appears to be working well.
Nice Asus 24" (1920x1080) screen, no dead or stuck-on pixels.

I personally changed both video cards in the crossfire machine and still suffered from poor 3d...
