I returned the 6800XT and got a 6900XT. It was on a crazy sale on Newegg. That's my card for a couple years. Thinking of upgrading to a 4K 144hz monitor.
I bought the G.Skill flaire X series (3200mhz 14-14-14-34) a few years ago for my Ryzen 1700. Now, I have a 5800X3D and I am still using that same ram. Is there better ram than the flair? The timing is super tight and I read that 3200 is the way to go with the Ryzen. I want the best since I have...
Never did that before. I have no idea who made this card, it looks like a reference AMD card, but who knows?
Checked and the bios version according to GPU-Z is a standard bios. Also the sticker on the GPU is all beat up, can't tell which manufacturer it is.
I just checked the ebay posting and I...
Bought a used RX580. It seems to work, windows is up and running. Can't seem to get any drivers I install to work. I installed the regular adrenaline drivers then I did the auto detect and it installed enterprise drivers. 3DMark says no compatible benchmarks found. The AMD software won't load...
Just replace my 3900x with a 5800X3D. For some reason its not going over 3400Ghz, don't think its boosting. I know that is slow, the 3900x was around 4.4Ghz boosted. What setting did I miss. The ram is at 3200Ghz and running fine. No idea what to do. Thanks.
I just ordered the RX6800XT for $669 on Amazon. Should last me a two to three years. Got my RTX2070 in Feburary of 2019 and it served me well. Hope this does as well.
I see videos on Youtube comparing the 3070 to the 6700, but I thought the 6800 was the direct comparison. I feel hesitant to get the 3070 because it only has 8GB or ram, which will affect its long-term viability.
I thought the 6800 was a 1440p card, but I see people saying the 6700 is. I...
If I list the 2070, what am I going to use for gaming. I game at 1440P which is why I replaced the R9 Fury X with the 2070 a couple years ago. I do have a GTX970 in a drawer somewhere, but I don't think it will handle 1440 gaming.
I've already listed the CPU on Ebay as well as the R9 Fury X. I will list the Mobo today or tomorrow. I have an old ryzen board and a Ryzen 1700 sitting in a box. I guess I will make it my spare box I will never use.
Yeah, I ran my favorite game (Planetside 2) using the 2070 on both systems and the 6700K was running mid 60% to mid 70%'s usage and spiked into the 90%'s. The 3900x with the same 2070 never went over low 50%'s cpu usage.
Think I will keep the 3900x and sell the 6700K system. Should I sell it as...
So here is the deal. I have a Ryzen 3900x on an Asrock 570 Taichi Motherboard, an RTX 2070 and 16 gigs of good ram. I also have a 6700K with 16 gigs of good ram. I did some benchmarks, and while the Ryzen 3900x is faster, in single thread its only a few % faster. I have the 6700K stable at...
I had to RMA my Motherboard because it was acting funny. It was replaced and Asus sent me a motherboard with physical damage. I sent it back and they sent me another unit that didn't work properly. So, I am RMA'ing again...but I am kind of out of love with ASUS. I am considering just getting a...
Think I will wait for Ryzen 4. Not worth the upgrade from Ryzen 2 to 3 to pay that much. I won't get enough for my 3900x to make it worth it. Also, I will need a new Mobo and ram for Ryzen 4. Might as well start saving up now.
I'm honesty torn. I was so enthused to upgrade from my 6700K to the 3900x, but I really don't see much of a gaming improvement. I game at 1440p and usually with my RTX2070 (Its currently RMA'd again, so using my older R9 Fury X) With the 6700K at 4.5Ghz and the Fury X, sure it doesn't run at...
But...if you wait for reviews, the price of my Zen 2 will go down faster than a 5 dolla' hooker. I was hoping to get maximum cash for my current Zen 2 and use that cash for the Zen 3.
I have a 3900x on an X470 mobo. Is it worth upgrading to the Zen 3? I know I can use the X470, but I won't get the benefits from Zen 3 like PCI-E 4.0, plus the IPC is supposed to be 20% better.
So, Sell the 3900x and wait for the Zen 3 to come out? Or stick it out with the Zen 2 til Zen 4 comes...
I actually upgraded from a 6700K to a X3900. Keep the 6700K for now. Unless you are rendering or doing video editing, its not worth the upgrade for gaming. Wait for Zen 3. 20% improvement.
Having a weird issue. Every time I click a web page, open a program, anything, the fan spools up. I open a new browser tab, fan spools up then slows down. Its kind of annoying. Wondering if there's a way to fix this.
Its an ASUS P8P67-M PRO with an I7-6700K overclocked to 4.5Ghz. Runs cool...
Currently using Flair ram that I had for my 1700. Now that I have a 3900x, do I get a set of 3600 or is there really no performance gain? I would accept 10fps if that was a gain I would see.
Running 16GB of B-die Flair 3200 AMD ram. Amazing that if I run Starwars Battlegrounds and one chrome window, I am using around 15GB of ram. Does that effect speed at all that I am so close to tapping out? I haven't seen it hit 16GB yet, I figure it did I would know it when the swap file kicked...
Hey folks. I have Ubuntu on an X58 system. I would like to run Windows in a virtual machine and be able to access my GTX 1060 instead of using the virtualized graphics system which you cannot game on. I know a lot of games work in Linux, mine does not unfortunately.
For the uninitiated, how do...
I know the difference in performance is around 10%-20% faster for the GTX1080TI according to the [H]ardOCP article I read. I see GTX 1080ti for sale on Ebay (Used) for around $500 plus shipping, give or take $10-15. I can get a RTX2070 for $479 on Newegg with rebate.
Which way would you go...
Currently, have an MSI Tomahawk B350. I can return it until the end of the month. Should I return it and get a B450 or X470? Does it matter at all? Running an R7 1700 @ 3.9Ghz.
Thanks
