After I bought Arkham Asylum and Football Manager 2012, I haven't bought anyting over 15 dollars on STEAM. I have World in Conflict, the entire GTA series, Arkham City, and Tropico 4, all were purchased 15 dollars.
STEAM SALES FOR THE WIN
The game play was good, but the graphics at the time was amazing, and the story/production value of the single player campaign was excellent.
Of course this was 12 years ago.
I didn't pre-order BF3, I bought it about a month after it came out, and wasn't problem free (like joining a game) until say 6 months after launch.
With the Simcity hilarity, there is no way I pre-order BF4. I'm not putting down 60 dollars and risk a game that doesn't work.
I hate the "stationary SOFLAM" where it "auto targets". The SOFLAM should have been a thingy where you have to "actively point" for it to work at anytime, but it's handheld at all times.
For the Karkand expanion though, Rush and CQ is great on Karkand/Sharqi/Wake, while Oman Rush is not great while it's an obvious CQ classic.
I will go on record and say Metro Rush with balanced teams is a great time
And most of the Vanilla maps are fun. On a good game of 64 man RUSH on any of the vanilla maps, the experience is SOOOO much better than any COD experience I've ever had, so whoever it is that "told me to go play COD", screw off.
There aren't enough players on Armoured Kill Maps to make it remotely interesting. It's just boring as fuck.
Karkand maps are still the best fun for both Rush AND Conquest. of course they were from BF2.
This is an Armoured Kill only gripe, and you can't tell me tank superiority comes...
I should re-word that, maps that are too large for 64 players. That was my mistake.
The Armoured Kill maps aren't bad, it's just that there aren't enough players in the to make it remotely interesting. 7 Flags, all of them sort of far away, 32 playres on each team with vehicles, it just feels...
I heart you.
When gameplay evolves, it means reducing 7 classes to 4 (so that one class is so overpowered it makes no sense), no commander mode, no spectate mode, complete bullshit for communication buttons, maps that are too large....
and I still spent 500 hours and 110 dollars on this...
I'm a BF guy, and there is no way in hell I'll be pre-ordering BF4 after BF3. I got the game Dec 2011 (game came out 2011/12), I finally stopped having server problems until like 4 months of getting the game, and of course the hacks and bugs are STILL in the game.
I want in on Simcity, but...
Arena Shooters and "Modern FPS" shooters are different games.
I like both, but they would be much better if
1. they weren't filled with hackers
2. they weren't filled with retards 3.
3. single player components were actually filled with good story writing
4. "ADS" is not the most...
That, and ridiculous customization of kit (I really like to soup up/mess around with my kit). That's it. At least BF2 was fucking BALANCED, if you wanted the grenade launcher and the best assault rifle, you couldn't also have the defibrillator.
They need to seperate the medic and assault class...
I'm serious, I've paid like 110 dollars for the entire BF3 package, I've played a krapload of it, but I've gotten way too much grief and pain and bullshit along with the 110 dollars. As opposed to the 4 dollars I paid for Faster than Light, which is still aweseom
About BF1942, they should just MAKE a BF 1944, where it's THE EXACT SAME GAME as BF 1942, except with ADS mechanics, using the Frostbite 2 engine. I don't want anything else.
Yeah, but that would be soooo much better than BF3.
BF3 should have been a modernized BF2, more guns/customizations, awesome graphics, some modern "warfare tools", and that's it. And they should have had one DLC be "WWII map with modern tools" DLC.
4 Classes for BF3 I thought was fucking...
Basically armoured kill is the only DLC that's not worth getting. B2K is still the best expansion, and AM is decent as well. CQ is lame interms of gameplay but you get 10 guns, a couple of which i swear by.
One REALLY good sign of cheating is if their hits/kill ratio is too low. If a gun does on average say 18-25 damage and a guy is averaging like 2 shots to kill a guy with that guy, he's probably got a damage modifier on.
Wallhacks are the hardest to catch IMO.
Shit was WAYY better in the day. Games actually had... story development, complicated game mechanics, use of more than 5 keys on the keyboard, and bugs that don't take months to patch. And everytime we got a patch, we'd get a free map!
Could you imagine trying to sell a game like Descent...
My favourite games from the late 90's/2000's were Homeworld, Descent Freespace, and X-Wings. You know why? Great storylines.
I wish they would reboot Homeworld. Homeworld 2 had lame gameplay, but the story was enough to keep me playing
I wonder what kind of distance the flag and the return point it, because if it's too far people will camp, and if it's too close people will collapse down in front of the flag.
I'm a high ping player (usually arorund 75-150), and it is painful on OUR end too, you shoot a guy like 10 times, and for like half a second you're not sure if he's dead or not, so high ping players can't take on multiple targets, because you can fire a bunch of bullets at a guy and for half a...
I do like the explosive bolt though, RECON finally has something against vehicles.
Edit: It doesns't seem to one-shot kill infantry, WHICH DOESN'T MAKE SENSE, it takes like 10% off a tank! I can understand if splash is minimal, but taking an explosive round to the body and not killing? really?
In terms of DLCs:
1. Karkand is still the best DLC, but it sucked that Premium came out AFTER Karkand, so basically I bought it twice. Guns AND maps.
2. CQ is worthless outside the guns. I played it so I could get some achievements/medals, I'm never playing it again.
3. Armoured Kill rush is...
I couldn't play aftermath last night, for some reason it said "i didn't have access" even though I paid their asses already with premium, this morning when I left it was downloading/re-downloading?
