Seems to me both companies are suffering from the covid inflation/crypto hangovers and simply have too much old stuff to move and new stuff that isn't nearly as cheap to make anymore. Throw in a recession and this is where we are at.
Those cards you are talking about are three year old tech and soon to be out of stock. I don't believe they are being produced anymore.
It's always easy to compare discounted old stuff to new stuff selling at MSRP. Hence my welcome to the new normal.
Welcome to the new normal. Yesterday's prices are long gone. Makes no sense to even try to use those price points as comparison to performance any longer. Sucks.
I sell all of my stuff at a loss. It's used, by me. I don't want to have to track those losses and prove to the feds I lost money. No sticking it to the man here. I just don't want to have to do the useless paperwork for a pittance. YMMV.
I will sell my stuff online until I reach $590 in sales...
I guess that depends. Some games hardly hit the CPU and others hammer it.
My comments are more towards data center. I'm not sure if 64-bit is a bonus for gaming/consumer or not.
Anyway, I'm for progress and not stagnation.
Ah, the fine wine argument. Numbers of GPUs purchased yearly tend to disapprove this argument. Most people upgrade frequently. Most people are fine with the vram they have. Most people adjust their settings to what plays well for them. If we're talking folks on the high end, they are well taken...
You could go with a 4070 if you stick with NV, but you could also pick up a 6950XT for your budget. If DLSS3 and RT is a draw for you then go 4070, otherwise grab a 6950XT.
I made it through the first mission and uninstalled this piece of junk. I'm glad I was able to try in in Game Pass. It's not worth a buy at any price above $5.
