I've been thinking about moving my main gaming PC into a storage room that's close by, and by close I mean 5 ft away. I don't want to be running 5-7ft ft of different cables for the mouse, keyboard, monitor. headphones etc, and so a 1 cable solution sounds nice--I just don't know where to start...
Now that he's running the B550 setup ok, I'm leaving it. I'll test the B650 parts separately and will try a fresh install of 11, try some games, leave some burn in tests going for a while. I do also wonder if the B650M-DS3H was too low end of a board to handle the G.Skill 6000 Expo kit. It was...
The parts are hard to swap since I didn’t have another Zen5 board or DDR5. All the other PC’s my kids run and even mine are DDR4.
The SSD I guess I could have swapped, like back to his older Samsung Evo 500GB. The new drive is a WD SN850x, so I dismissed it might be the issue, but I’ve seen...
Last week I upgraded my sons PC to a 7600X, on a Gigabyte B650M-DS3H, and G.Skill 6000 C30. I also dropped in a 1tb nvme since his games were killing the 500gb he had in there. I did the fresh install of W11, AMD chipset drivers, latest NV drivers for the GPU, and all updates. I couldn’t get...
This one is the Lian Li Lancool II, cable management is o-k-a-y… but when he has 8 corsair fans controlled by their hubs it’s annoying. I’d go with the Lian Li Uni fans if they weren’t so bloody expensive.
I did last week, although in fairness really on the front, bottom, and inside. I vacuum...
AMD would be stupid to release the 7600 with less than 12GB, and they need to capitalize on the fact (or rumor) that NV will drop a 8GB 4060. Should be:
- 7900 24/20GB
- 7800 XT 20GB (non XT 16GB)
- 7700 XT 16GB (non XT 12GB)
- 7600 12GB
- 7500/7400 8GB
I temporarily caves due to work being busy and so I've been using a wifi adapter. When I get some more time this week I'll try some more things. Would be nice if the powerline adapters started to behave again.
Unfortunately while there is coax drops in each room, there are two coax runs into our unit with one drop feed rooms on one half of our unit, and the 2nd drop feeding the other half. These two seperate runs don't cross over, so I wouldn't be able to utilize that tech.
My condo was built in...
Model is - TP-LinkTL-PA7017P AV1000
I should have been more specific yesterday as I couldn't use a power bar last night (although now I can) So what I did was take the recieving adapter and I moved it to the same room and wall that the other powerline adapter (one connecting to the router) was...
Thanks for the detailed reply, appreciate it. So I did what you suggested and plugged both the adapters so that they would be on the same circuit. Speeds increased to 160-180Mbs, so a heck of a lot better. Not 800, but at least I can assume that the adapters are "ok", and the culprit is most...
I picked up a pair of TP Link power line adapters to solve the wifi issue my condo has with 8" thick concrete support walls. I have a mesh network as well which works great, but for main PC I wanted hardwire, so I gave the powerline a try. It's been flawless with me getting between 800Mbs-600Mbs...
I picked up a Lian Li X1 GPU Riser for my card, however I could not get the card seated. The GPU and riser are about 1-2mm off and I really tried to get the GPU seated without using G forces that would break the GPU. After I surrendered, I looked at the GPU riser closely and noticed that I had...
Exactly this. Nvidia probably wants to announce first so that they set the price tone --before AMD has a chance to. I don't see Nvidia wanting to lower prices, if anything I think they got a taste over the last 2 years of what people are willing to pay. They'll want to be their own middleman...
From what I understand their encoder isn't as good as Nvenc but so far I've found the quality pretty decent. Playing horror games with a lot of dark scenes and fast moving action, the quality has been on-par with recordings made in the same game with an RTX card using Nvenc. I'd probably have to...
Not sure what you mean by that... In AMD Relive, my recording settings at AVC and 30Mbs but I've also tested HVEC with same results. If I could just get this text issue resolve I'd be golden with this AMD card, it's doing everything amazing so far. Text issue aside, the recording feature works...
Monitor is Viewsonic Elite XG270QG 27" 165Hz nanoIPS. I don't know what adjusting cleartext would do since this ONLY shows up in recordings with Relive. Again, everyday games, desktop text is clear. It's only in the recordings made by AMD Relive. Also I've tested a RTX card in the same system...
It's not just the overlay as in the picture posted it also affects all the text in the record, not just in game or overlay eg; desktop icons, folder and file text, and in game text.
Looks like I already have that set. It's only the recordings made with AMD Relive that turn out like this. When not recording, and even during recording, the FPS counter, and Desktop text looks normal. It's only when viewing the made recordings from AMD Relive that the video has this distorted...
I just took these snaps from recordings I made with AMD Relive. Top part is from a recording in Metro although any game produces the same effect. You can see the Afterburner FPS counter has distorted text colors. Bottom part is taken from my desktop, also recorded with AMD Relive. You can see on...
No, you miss what I'm saying. FSR looks good, very good, and I do personally hope it catches and more game devs implement it. Also I am fully aware that it will be very easy to implement. But... that said, you underestimate or don't at all, the far reach Nvidia has into both large and small game...
lol, as much as I love AMD, my thoughts exactly.
The reason I don't think FSR will become too mainstream comes down to one thing. Nvidia's ability to work with *cough* bribe game developers both large and small.
Thanks. Maybe I'll give it a go then. From everything I've heard about it, I was weary to pay full price, but seems you can get cheap GOG keys now so I'll give it a shot.
I can understand how for some people it didn't meet their expectations, or they expected a certain game, and so that crowd...
Before 2077 launched I was pretty excited for it, but I didn't buy it immediately and the more it was reported to be a hot mess I stayed away. Fast forward to now, I'm tempted to pick up a cheap GOG key and play it, but are most of the kinks ironed out? Is the game still a buggy mess, or can...
Just to add a few more points about the AMD driver debacle over the years...
Personally, as mentioned I've never had an issue and find the AMD drivers rock solid for a drop in gaming experiencing, but that said most friends and family prefer Geforce and with good reason. For example; I gave my...
I just record never stream and usually at 1080p/1440p. With Nvenc I was using CQP 14-15, and while the files sizes are large I don't mind because the recordings were pretty awesome. With AMD Relive, I am using AVC with 30Mbs and overall, it looks okaaay... As for AMD and OBS, I'm pretty sure I...
