I accidentally broke a $2500 video card... like an idiot

I never really cared for Jay or Linus' channels; I will watch a few on occasion but they've always been clickbaity and overly excitable. IMO the HWUB guys do the best reviews on YT. Another great one is Optimum Tech. I also really like AV Techy but I think that it's a big part of it is because...

    Ryzen - Tweaks?

They were sold out at my local MC and all of the reviews I checked out showed that there is basically no difference in performance anyway.

    Ryzen - Tweaks?

I've already sold my 7700k system to a friend so I'm staying with the 3700x. I'm just going to have to come to terms with it being more of a sidegrade than an upgrade to a 3 year old CPU. It's close enough in most games although I've tried League of Legends and it's WAY worse than the 7700k was...

Looking to create a new Ryzen Mini ITX build

The case you're using is actually pretty large and can take a full-sized ATX PSU so you don't need to stress over it too much. I like Corsair but if you like Seasonic just get one of their modular 450-600W ATX PSUs; Gold rated if it's in your budget but Bronze is fine too.

Gamers are ditching Radeon graphics cards over driver issues

Nvidia didn't always have the money either; they just chose to throw people at their drivers years ago when 3dfx and Matrox were still around. IMO that's when NV really laid the foundation for where they are today. Back then EVERYONE had trash drivers and/or GL wrappers. NV released the...

    Ryzen - Tweaks?

I've seen it go up to 4.475 on 1-2 cores a handful of times in games. In AC:O it seems to go to 4.375-4.40. This is on a 280mm AIO and the PBO settings listed above. My friend with the 9900k has the exact same 2080ti as me but his isn't under water like mine. I might have him log in to my Uplay...

Looking to create a new Ryzen Mini ITX build

I think that all of the mITX B450 are likely fine and just as capable as anything else; it will really come down to which ones have the features you want. The Asus ROG Strix board has 2 m.2 drives slots but if you use the slot on the back it will reduce your PCI-E slot to 8x. This is the board...

Gamers are ditching Radeon graphics cards over driver issues

While it's not related to the issues being outlined in this thread I have this interesting issue with my RX470. It works great in my i7-7700k system and it works in my old i7-870 system UNTIL I install the driver which for whatever reason kills all USB input until the drivers are uninstalled...

    Ryzen - Tweaks?

I gave up on BF being a worthwhile game long ago so I don't have BFV to test. I don't really need more performance in AC:O; both CPUs just run it and pretty much everything else identically. I don't shut down background apps and frequently have Youtube playing while I game and even though the...

A more powerful GPU than a 2080ti? I felt the same about Asus after some issues with P97 boards back in the day.

    Ryzen - Tweaks?

The most cpu-intensive games I have tested so far are RDR2 and AC:Odyssey. AC:O gained quite a bit of performance from memory timings but it basically just put the 3700x on par with the 7700k versus a few percent behind. The framerates in most other games are so high that it doesn't really...

    Ryzen - Tweaks?

Hey everyone, so I just built a 3700x system and while the synthetic benchmarks are amazing the gaming performance isn't what I expected (with a 2080ti @ 1440p it's anywhere from a bit slower to equal to my old 7700k@4.9Ghz). So I'm looking for things that I may need to do to help it stretch...

    mITX board suggestions.

The Gigabyte DOES support AIOs.... I just built a system using the Asus ROG Strix B450-I Gaming and a 3700x and I'm not in love with the board. Compared to my old Gigabyte Z270 Gaming ITX board it's incredibly annoying to use; the BIOS, some of the layout decisions (SATA ports to the left of...

    Thoughts on the TU150?

It's true that if you use a ATX PS the GPU will be choked but if you use an SFX it opens it up quite a bit; my 2080Ti pre-AIO had similar temps as my friend that has the same card in an open-air case (Thermaltake Core P-something). I switched over because the base EVGA 2-fan cooler sucks for noise.

    Thoughts on the TU150?

It may help but it may not. I'll be interested to hear the results. I'm in an NZXT h210 which is similar in size to the TU150 but supports more cooling options; I'm running a 260mm AIO on the 7700k@4.9 in the front inhaling air, a 120mm AIO on the 2080TI exhaling air in the back, and a 140mm...

The problem with wall slams is that they're practically useless against bosses. If you take the cast bow and take Dionysus' Trippy Shot or Aphrodite's cast ability it will crit for over 1k.

Picked it up a few weeks ago. It's a great game already even though it's still in early access. I've escaped with every weapon and just completed the PoP with 4 skulls. The "cast bow" is broken as all hell.

confirmed: AMD's big Navi launch to disrupt 4K gaming

I have a 2080TI and even at 1440p there is a ton of stuff that won't run at over 100fps. At Ultra settings RDR2 is like 50-60fps. Hell Let Loose is 80-90fps. Then add in Control, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Division 2, Metro Exodus. The 5700XT can't even hold 60fps on AC:O at 1440p so the...

Gamers hate the Epic Game Store but spent $680 million there anyway.

While lacking features or being "another launcher" are issues the main reason people complain is because of Epic's back door deals to stop games from going to Steam at the last minute. Back on topic. The relatively low amount of money earned despite the huge amount of users and exclusivity...

Gamers hate the Epic Game Store but spent $680 million there anyway.

I wonder if that's what Epic made from the store (so their 12% take or whatever it is) or total sales on the store. If it's total sales that's really really bad considering the high profile titles they paid for.

Gamers hate the Epic Game Store but spent $680 million there anyway.

I got the free copy of Subnautica from EGS (I believe it was one of the first games they gave out), played it for an hour, and then promptly went to Steam and bought it there. EGS has been uninstalled ever since.

New government issued android freephones (obamaphone) comes w/ permanent backdoor installed.

I imagine that things like this are in other phones and just haven't been discovered yet. It does make me wonder how rooting affects this because on one hand the root devs may be able to remove such malware but on the other they may insert it. The "Obamaphone" is just an extension of the...

The Original Star Wars IX Script Has Allegedly Leaked. And It's Much Better Than The Rise of Skywalk

The General should have ordered, "Do a barrel roll!" as soon as the rebels landed on the ship. Or "List Starboard Side!". Would have ended the cavalry charge right quick.

    Red Dead Redemption 2

Yeah, on my 2080ti at 1440p and cranked settings it would hang out around 60 fps with occasional drops down to 50. Using the HWUB "Optimized settings" it's 100 fps all of the time and still looks pretty amazing. I went ahead and bumped a few settings up a notch or two and it's a solid 90 fps...

Best PC gaming controller in 2020?

I've never had any latency or drop out issues with the Xbox One controllers over bluetooth. The main issue I've had with them is that when the batteries get low games will just suddenly drop to like 10fps until the batteries are replaced.

Elder Scrolls VI Release Date: Gameplay Locations and Infinitely Playable like Skyrim Features

Looking for Opinions on 3600x or 3800x

They'll both perform essentially the same for gaming. You just need to weigh how much 3d rendering you'll be doing and if the few minutes you save on each render is worth the extra money. As for reviewers 'testing lean' GamersNexus has gone over this before; having other apps running basically...

AAA VR titles are starting to deliver...

People are "addicted" to Steam as you say because Valve has worked to make it more than just a launcher; Steam is a community for many users now. AMD Zen 2 Monster Gamin System

Nice build. I was dead set on getting this case but ended up jumping on a H210 due to it being able to house either a big air cooler and an AIO or both a 280mm AIO and a 120mm AIO while being only slightly larger. EVGA said that the Hybrid kit won't fit on the 2080Ti Black so I went with the...

Micro Center Intel CPU prices have SKYROCKETED!

It's that price because it's the best CPU available for the Z170/Z270 chipsets and is still quite competitive with the best CPUs in gaming when overclocked.

Finally! Snapdragon 865’s CPU beats the Apple

That's because many of these companies install a bunch of bloatware onto their handsets that really hurts performance with Samsung probably being among the worst of them. Ryzen 3700x $280 - Microcenter
