It's a solid choice! I got my EVO in snow and I'm loving it. Spent my life looking at silver or black interiors, the white is a welcome change of pace really makes whatever colors you choose stand out.
I know it's played out, but I grabbed an EVO, mainly since there would be enough room to squeeze push/pull on my radiators. I actually prefer the mini, as you can do the same, but you'd have to go ITX as well as get a smaller PSU.
I've always just plopped on either a "grain of rice" or a "pea" smack in the middle, then mounted my heatsink, sometimes doing a 1-3 degree twist before it's too clamped down. I never understood the whole idea of spreading it yourself. If your heatsink isn't providing enough pressure, you have...
I second the think units. You really can't go wrong with a Hardware Labs 280GTX at medium fan speeds. I have mine paired with some Noctua A14s and its doing great. Just watch out for the width at 53mm not all cases are happy with that.
I just ordered some items from coldzero, they look AMAZING, but now I cannot use them, as I got scammed trying to buy my case off ebay. If anyone has a NZXT H700 (b or i) and wants some unopened panels for a steal, shoot me a message!

I thought that it would nice to have a [H] Dropbox referral thread. If you are not familiar, Dropbox is software that syncs your files online and across your computers. It keeps unlimited revisions and is accessible anywhere as well via the web interface.

You are officially that crazy guy next door. Start limping and looking over your shoulder a lot, and buy a lab coat.
Anyways, great job on the room, wishing i had a nice space for myself.
Great finds erebus720!
I never had to much luck, but haven't yet tried since i moved to the great state of TX. Anyone already aware of fort worth DD laws?
I've used the rubber "screw replacement" things that come with some fans (noctua pf12 i know has them)
Anyways i put them into the fan screw holes as normal, then simply shove the other end between a few heatsink fins.
Dunno if this is any help but its working great on northbridge cooler...

I definitely see where your coming from, but IMHO this makes me enjoy folding that much more. One of those "funny geek things".
I can't speak for PG's development as I don't actively follow it but I do think you have an idea there of either pruning those old users OR moving them...
EDIT: Ok uh i found out a bit more about this error and it seems to do with the mpiexec file i went and looked for it at ~/foldingathome/ and its not there :(
The funny thing is in my cpu1 folder under that has an alias to it. I grabbed it from stanford, made it executable and started my...
Thanks for all of your replies. The main issue is that these machines sit behind a tight firewall. I can talk out, but getting to any of these things is hard / impossible from the outside.
I wanted to use the new fahspy (or hfm is it will) which will calculate the point bonuses and have it...
Came in this morning to a disappointing discovery, not sure it its config, permissions, or a cause of the stanford network outage. Tiger, i do have 8 in there.
Here is my log file which shows my flags as well as the errors i'm getting.
# Mac OS X SMP Console Edition...
Hello,
A few of my folders sit behind a firewall at work and I would like the ability to be able to monitor them from home. I was thinking that I could cron an upload of the necessarily files to my personal web server and hfm or fahspy could grab them off there.
What files/folder would i...
I fold for everyone who has felt pain from a death that may be prevented by this research. I never really *thought* about why i started until now... it was right around the time my grandmother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Either way, I will fold as best I can for the rest of my natural...
I'm still going to keep -oneunit for the time being. I'll then setup finstall to smp all 8 cores and scream through these 10 units instead of my normal smp setup of a wu for each cpu.
At that point when i finish up with 10 or so under my passkey its just a -configonly and a quick edit of my...
Thanks for all the help everyone. Should I actually run 10 smp wu's under my passkey BEFORE I try a bigadv? I don't have one setup at this time. If so I'll add my key and keep my clients going till monday before I give this a try.
I ask myself the same question every day! If I wasn't paying $400 for my apartment here and the job didn't require it i'd be back up north in a heartbeat.
finstall is the same on mac as it is on linux. I just shoved -oneunit on my clients and will give it a try tomorrow. That guide APOLLO...
I'm so upset right now, I hail from Nashua but am staying in TX for the year on work. I would so be there with my whole paycheck in hand... and maybe some from savings :)
Wow, nice catch there, been wondering exactly what was "under the hood" ( work gave me this :D ) and you seem to be spot on.
Still hoping someone can offer some finstall advice for this setup. I'm sure lots of other mac pro users are looking for something like this.
I dont think i have HT
Model Name: Mac Pro

Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz

Total Number Of Cores: 8

Anyway someone could show me how do do this via...
Anyone ever tried this before? I have 2 quad core xeons at 2.8ghz and 6gb of RAM on this thing, normal usage never breaks 5% of cpu.
Honestly i'm just trying to get the best I can out of this machine, right now running 2 smp units @ 1920pts. From what the threads look like I may actually be...
this is just what i'm looking for. We have a ton of laptops around the shop here without hardrives that could be folding away. A plug and play folding OS setup would be sweet.
What would be even better is if i could pre-configure it with my user and team id, put it on like 20 1gig jump drives...
