I have writed email to ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI with ask, to make tests in 90 degree orientation, with video outputs facing up - resoult is worse than i expected. Only MSI made test, but with PCI riser (they did not understand my ask) and dont want to re-test it, their answer is also unclear, as...
Okay, video is not important. PS is working good now, with a paperclip.
If powering the PC all together it doesn't turn on.
Turning the case with a screwdriver bridging the power switch doesn't work.
That happens with or without the graphics card connected.
Also, is it possible to turn the PC on...
1080Ti, had 3 of these puppies at one point. Then i sold them to get a 2080ti. The 2080ti is good but to be perfectly honest with you I should have just stayed with my 1080ti's
Lazy.
I ran 21:9 for roughly a year (got a cheap 4K TV for a display, sold the monitor for significantly more than the TV cost, needed the cash) and never found an even sort of modern title that couldn't be made to run proper res with some tweaking.
40"+ 4K is your next move as others have...
Tree fiddy.
Don't count on the 2500k lasting forever - the IMC in mine died randomly about a month ago, no warning. After it happened I looked in to it, and it's more common than I would've thought.
Vega can't compete, so if they'd planned to move release of Volta up in response... Chances are they'll hold back now. Doubt we will see Volta any time soon.
As I'm pretty sure I've asked elsewhere, what is your current system not doing that you're looking to improve on with a rebuild? You will see almost no improvement in most day to day tasks and gaming. Now is /not/ a good time for a new system.
Having gone from 980Ti SLI to a 6950 while waiting for the GPU price madness to end, I can confirm I've had exactly the opposite experience. The 980Tis looked great with my calibrated Samsung 6290 40" 4K TV. The 6950 (granted, at 1080P since it's incapable of native res) is washed out to the...
Mining is their life-support.
Just to be clear, this is my GPU progression: S3 Virge -> Rage3D -> Voodoo3 3500 AGP -> Radeon DDR AGP -> Radeon 9800 Pro -> 8800 GTX / SLI / Tri-SLI -> Radeon 4890 2-way Crossfire -> Radeon 6950 2-way Crossfire -> 980Ti 2-way SLI. Currently I'm using one of the...
You wanted to be disappointed in real time?
Said it before and I'll say it again: The RX480 should never have been released. RX580 was flat out pathetic, a non-product. Most still hoping for the best from AMD/ATI looked to Vega -- "Oh, just wait, they'll compete again, they'll take the...
I wouldn't bother. As others have said, fewer and fewer titles have solid SLI scaling these days. Save up and sell the 1080Ti for the next big release, whenever that hits.
Download the bios update, put it on a USB stick, reboot the machine, go in to bios (follow prompts) and there should be an update option. Point it to the file.
If that isn't clear enough, consult your motherboard manual.
Is your system not working properly? Why are you concerned with updating it?
With regards to BIOS updates, it's usually best to use a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach.
4x8GB or 8x4GB, whichever I can get faster/cheaper... so probably 8x4GB.
Please don't bother asking for new prices, I had to trade a really nice monitor for the X99 setup I'm trying to get together now, so I'm far from made of money at the moment. The RAM I'm using currently is ~$65 for a 8GB...
Appreciated, but currently I have an offer that's better suited to my needs. I'll keep you in mind and let you know if my situation changes (trade was postponed until tomorrow -- I unexpectedly had to work today).
Think I found a combo, leaving this open for now however. Will post here if the deal falls through for some reason tomorrow, otherwise will lock the thread when trade is complete.
