I think it is possible to install over top of XP, I can't see how it would do anything accept for put all your drivers back to default. At most it could have damaged your drivers, meaning you simply have to reinstall them all. All it will be doing is bringing all the settings back to default...

Yeah, after the BIOS flash, I found some software on the HP webpage that is used to configure the BIOS settings. It seems this BIOS doesn't have a built in menu of any kind, and it must be loaded off the disk.

yeah probably, before i got my 900u, i was running 3200+ at the temps you stated above, and 3d mark was all gittery i got my 900u, it lowered the temps to 42c load and it ran fine, and it didnt gitter, so i better cooling goes along way

yeah, i have the exact same problem iwht my barton, it says duron, but everywhere else it says that it is an athlon xp so its oviously a bad program, i score 5200 3dmarks with my setup so its sure isnt a duron that is doing it but i have yet to find a fix for it yet :/
