i just recently reformatted after getting another SSD to raid-0. the 780 was working fine before, so maybe i just got unlucky with the PSU failing? the black screen issue occurs with any game, not just intense benchmarks.

all of those criteria aren't hard to meet, but having touch screen and a dedicated gpu on the same machine makes it much more uncommon
