You can also keep your existing monitor and use NVIDIA's DLDSR to supersample your image up from 1080 to 2880 x 1620 and then display it on your 1080p monitor. You also can use regular DSR to upsample to 4K and display on your 4k monitor. 2280 x 1620 DLDSR gives you basically the same result as...
Sony is just killing me here. The A95L QD-OLED will clearly be one of the best , if not the best, TV of 2023. However, STILL, only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports.
Can I get around this with some kind of a HDMI 2.1 switcher so I can make one HDMI 2.1 input into like 4? I know I'm going to have more than 2...
The thing is, Crossplay is enabled so I'm playing with at least some xbox players. I do not see AI bots. I think anti-air and anti-tank is overpowered, but it is "overpowered" in real warfare as well. Tanks aren't lasting long in the current conflict, mostly due to Javelins, and that is also the...
Actually I agree, but, I think returning classes to this game makes a big difference. It allows you to pick a role and then specialists within that role.
The whole game feels very different from launch. The maps seem stronger, overall, the game now looks and feels polished and there is a nice...
This is actually playable now and there are 128 player games to hop into all the time now. It doesn’t feel quite as alien to the series since the last patch. I’d recommend it at like 60% off.
It seems like they took some of the criticism to heart. Battlefield may have a future, but it isn’t...
I have been shopping for new cases and the market is just downright depressing. There are just no good aluminum premium options. I wish Silverstone would revisit some older designs. I would happily pay big money for some updated unibody designs. It is just so sad that so many classic Silverstone...
Tie. Core2Duo E6600. Core i7 8700K.
I remember getting my first Core2Duo chip in a new build (In a beastly Silverstone TJ07), firing up Battlefield 2 and it just FLEW. It just chewed up every game like I had never seen before. It was light years beyond whatever I had before. I believe it was...
This was the game that caused me to get my first PC with Voodoo2. I was on a Mac up until that point. Saw it at a friends house and could not believe what I was seeing. A few weeks later I had my first Gateway PC, I believe it came in a box with cow spots. I don't even know how I got my parents...
The game is shockingly good. Just can't believe how sharp it looks. Rave reviews for it too. One of my top five all time games for sure, of any platform!
I am at the triforce, I mean, artifact hunt with all gear. I hope they do the second and third ones just like this!
You can manually reset center by using the R shoulder button on the right joycon. That will reset you. You can do it on the fly. Don't be afraid to switch from gyro to other control schemes as you progress because the gyro controls can get fatiguing. I kind of switch back and forth. As the game...
It isn't the pirate that breaks from the tank that is doing me in because he goes down fast with super missles. It is just the sheer number of encounters with the elemental pirates, in particular the ones susceptible to power beam, that just drains me before I can reach wherever the next save...
I also just got to Phazon Mines. Is it me or is the sequence where you fight those cloaked space pirates, use the laser to break the wall and reveal the door, fight the large space pirate that breaks from the tank and get the next save just next to impossible. I have tried three times and I...
I tend to agree the previews are underwhelming. However, since Breath of the Wild probably pushed the technical capabilities of the Switch as far as they can go in terms of graphics, it is inevitable that this game will give expansion vibes. They clearly are not reinventing the wheel for this...
Metroid Prime Remastered has arrived! Stealth launched today by Nintendo, I just landed on Talon IV (for the 50th time since 2002) and can confirm:
(1) There are four control schemes including Classic Gamecube, Wii Trilogy/Pointer, Hybrid Pointer and Dual Stick;
(2) Graphics have been...
I just wanted to up Geralt cosmetically before the final battle since I haven't come across any really good stuff. I am short on time for this type of game. Too much real work to do for crafting. I waited until the end the cheat, however.
So I am on the home stretch. I think I am on the last main non DLC quest. I used a cheat command to add EVERYTHING in my inventory so I could get some cool armor sets before finishing. I am a bit overencumbered now, by like 2000, so I had to mod the game. Now I have every weapon and armor set...
Looking for this legacy device for adding a fan to an old Silverstone case. If you happen to have one in any condition, please let me know if it is for sale.
Model: CFP51B Black
I have this idea of making some kind of visual timeline, it would span from 1985 to the present, and show every configuration of console and PC hardware and software that I can recall owning and the associated software of the time. I'd like to incorporate box art for the actual games and images...
Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight was the game that made me want a Voodoo II graphics card and a PC. Before that, I was gaming on a MAC and my first game was Graphsim's Sim Hellcats Over the Pacific.
1. Crysis
2. Battlefield 1942
3. StarFox
4. Unreal Tournament
5. Quake III: Arena
6. Doom
7. Far Cry
8. Grand Theft Auto: III
9. Grand Theft Auto: V
10. The Witcher III
Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity is pretty awesome. The combat is just over the top insane. This isn't like grade A mainline game stuff but it is pretty good Zelda filler material until TotK hits. Love it.
Interesting. I gamed on CRT and in some ways we just never got back there. On plasma now, for this reason. OLED is certainly closer but I remember what the first LCDs were like (all really) and it was awful.
So subjectively, is OLED 120 fps more or less blurry than then the best LED displays? I...
I am curious, how does something like a 77 inch OLED, at 4K, at couch distance, say 10-12 feet, shake out in terms of PPD? Is there a way to calculate it?
Edit: I calculate 146 ish.
After working on a 1440p monitor for years (LED), I would never consider a 1440p monitor larger than 34 MAX. The clarity just isn’t there.
I think I would do 34 again at 1440p but I would not want to park myself at that PPI/PPD for ever.
It is just unfortunate that 1440p is now the standard...
1440 is a terrible resolution for productivity. Just not enough vertical real estate. Also, it just isn't sharp enough in my opinion. I wish they would take it up a notch.
This game is just killer! Just got to Skellig. It is like Twilight Princess, Skyrim Warcraft and GTA V had a love child. I never played it because I found the combat system too hard to learn (getting old), but now that I have the hang I am hooked. Going to play this before taking on Eldin Ring...
