I just picked up the netgear 4500 at costco...but reading the smallnetwork's review has me concerned with the 2 stream 2.4 performance. Most of my devices are N, but I do have 2 older laptops with G. Will I see any true benefit to using these new N600/750/900? The asus 66u seems to be the...
I will use mine for my portable drive until TB externals become reasonably priced.
For now it looks this way: 1.5TB 2.5" external = $140-160
FW800 adapter = $20
TB adapter = $130(BHphoto carries it as of yesterday) + TB cable $50
so $180 vs $20 and this is for the portable version. I'm...
It sounds more like a SL to Lion difference in incorporation of the gestures. The only major one that took some adjustment is the natural scroll direction.
I think the biggest advantage of the jerkers are the swing out shelves..still, no bigger than a 20" lenghwise or a 24 verticially.
My old school 40" takes most of the center, but I'd bet a thinner 46" could probably fit in the center
I have a FT01 and since I happened to be back there swapping out my mouse I noticed a strange sound from the fan...sounds like my top 180mm is going bad. Only reason I would've thought about it at all is this thread. I'll give them a ring to see if they can do anything for me.
BX5a,
I should note that one review of the BX5a shows it being much brighter sounding than the warmer sounding A5s, aka Grado sound vs Sennheiser. I realize that the BX5a had an update too which may have affected the EQ, but I can't confirm since I haven't heard them myself.
Here is the link...
damn you should've posted last month..you could've bought the pair for 149 (music123 brand new).
edit: if you don't mind red..the limited edition set is still available for 199 (pair)
If you want a hassle free setup then the usual suspects, z2300, klipsch..are good. If OTOH you are willing to position bookshelves properly, then I'd recommend getting some decent bookshelves and saving up for a subwoofer later on. I personally have the A5s with a 10" woofer that destroys the...
just got mine..if the rebate comes this will be my first time getting the mx518 for 10. The last time it was 10, circuit city still had a B&M store in my area lol
it'd be nice if they did...hopefully they'd also work in the FT01. My caviar blacks vibrate the cage occasionally to the point that I have to open up and adjust it to stop the vibration.
first thing, I'd go to avsforum for questions like this..no offense to hardforum..also assuming you're keeping these for the long run, I'd save for a reasonably priced set that you can afford rather than say just buying a really cheap set right now.
I've also noticed you haven't chosen a sub...
Audioengine 5s in white are great for a simple self-powered 2.0 system for about 300
The Swan m200s are pretty good too, the mkII is cheaper but I'd go for the mkIII if you can swing the 400
yup..just like tools they were accumulated over time. As far as LCDs go, as long as you don't always buy top of the line you can get large size for a good value.
Large TVs (especially new tech, i.e. local dimming, LED, or the new "thin" models) and pre built computers or laptops will account...
well they were until the new 1" lcds came out..and now I would have to explain how the newer samsungs that are 1" thin are not as good as the older top of line models with local led dimming. My parents are looking for a new set and I just cannot explain it to them. All they see is screen size...
I'll +1 on the SS RV02 recommendation, great airflow, small size, quiet, easily removable filters (4), and fairly lightweight (20s guesstimate). The only problem is the price for you though.
heh thanks for the quick review Mr. B, unfortunately the den in my new house is hardwood so I'll probably need to keep looking for inexpensive speaker stands
I know at least with my generation of samsungs..the auto motion plus had a lot of issues and people ended up turning them off..making them essentially 60Hz TVs.
amazon is only so so for me..their slow processing/shipping (without going 2nd day air or the sort) put me off unless I now I can wait about a week for something (that's the quickest usually). Newegg at the worst is 2-3days and thats with the free or cheapest shipping.
IMO, while the 120Hz helped initially (in comparison to the plasmas) its the local dimming that really impressed me and its what will definitely be in my next TV purchase (if LCD).
I'd go for the 590 if your goal is a cheap case that moves a lot of air. It only comes with 2 fans, but you can add more if needed. I would advise against the HAF unless you're a fan of the looks since their cooling isn't really any better than CM's cheaper offerings.
Kuro for top the line if money is no issue
For those of use who can't afford 6-7k TVs, this is an awesome deal, I bought my 40" in 2007 and it was 850, awesome deal at the time. For a Sony 46", great deal. The 120Hz vs 60Hz on lcd's is really meaningless. If you're an LCD fan only local dimming...
