The game is now available.
The new UI and quality of life changes are great; I like playing the game without so much eye strain. Adventure mode isn't available (yet).
For those new to the game, have Fun! The dwarf fortress wiki is a great resource, but it isn't currently updated for the new...
The long awaited Dwarf Fortress premium comes to Steam on December 6.
Fully new user interface, art, music. The game won't be any easier but at least it'll be playable!
Not a headlamp, but IMO the Fenix PD35 is the best flashlight around. Small, durable, bright, and long lasting with a good 18650 battery. My PD35 is ~7 years old and it's every bit as good as the day I bought it; stuff like OP is practically disposable which might be OK for keeping in the car...
Finally threw out my XT about a year ago; it was definitely worn down with use (~10 years!!). In some ways this was great since it was so slick at the start that if I butterfingered my mouse it wound up on the floor 90% of the time.
The pads didn't seem to be suitably annealed after machining...
Razor blade is the fastest/easiest if it's glass. Keep the blade around 30-45 degrees above the plane and work slowly. Done right it should catch the edge of the ink and scrape it clean in a single pass. Do not use the corner of the blade or you may scratch the glass. Use the same method to...
I believe this is one of the models that launched as TLC and swapped to QLC (with SLC cache) after release. Certainly slower than some alternatives but still plenty fast.
Open beta launched yesterday and lasts through the weekend. There's a button to request access on the steam store page. It can take a while to get the approval email but you can still install/play immediately.
I played to level 10 in about 2.5 hours. Servers seemed relatively stable and I...
Bought this after watching some gameplay for a bit.
Good:
Gameplay is great. Good balance of strategy and ship combat.
Lots of shipbuilding variety, but it's generally avoidable if that's not your thing.
Visuals & music
I think there's a lot of potential paths towards victory in terms of...
I just completed the story in ~12 hours as devastator (tank class), with solo WT4 most of the way.
Overall an okay game, in the end I feel like I got what I expected and that was a pretty average looter shooter. Some of the boss fights were great, some were downright frustrating. The difficulty...
There's cross-platform play on all endpoints; I'm assuming they needed to stagger the launch to avoid nuking the server.
I believe preload (~70GB) is available for every platform except Epic right now if you preordered.
I'm looking forward to hearing feedback from folks once it's live. I...
I think 19.12.3 was the best for me. The system would still boot to black screen on major windows and bios updates most of the time; I think something in the card itself sucked at output device selection across all driver versions.
Anecdotal, but things haven't improved much over the last year on my 5700XT and Radeon VII systems. The display driver still periodically resets in games, which crashes the game and occasionally BSOD's the PC. Many people aren't having issues, but I'm 2 for 2 on completely stock CPU/GPU systems...
I finished the game on ultraviolence recently and I'm glad to say it was enjoyable. I maintain that 2016 was better in every way, but Eternal is not the hot garbage I thought it was after the first mission.
2016 was a masterpiece in every regard, and would be difficult to top. I may not have played enough yet to be credible (beat the first mission, ~1 hour of play). ....but... the game plays very differently than 2016 and not in good ways in my opinion. The storytelling isn't there (yet?), combat...
Anyone else having periodic minor artifacts or black screens? I've had better luck with some driver releases compared to others so I'm thinking the hardware might be ok, but to still have issues this long after release is pretty crappy. I'm still on 1803.
One of the feedback items from AMD regarding odd voltages reported in Windows is that some monitoring programs are polling the CPU in such a way that it causes the CPU to behave differently than normal. Similarly, running multiple monitoring tools simultaneously will create a race condition and...
Anyone come across any reviews for the mobos? I'm specifically looking for some feedback on the chipset fan noise. Had one on X58 and it was a real pain in the ear after a few years.
It was released in 2015. At the time, 90fps Freesync was pretty good. I believe the PG279Q is the same panel but with Gsync compatibility instead. The PG279Q has better refresh rates.
Had a ridiculously good run in ODZ Last weekend with a match made group. Didn't encounter any other players and the landmarks reset every 10 seconds! Reached the 30 item extract mail limit in about 30 minutes. I'm guessing this is unusual?
Is it just me or are LMGs way better than any other weapon? The DMRs are the only things that come close. Anything else feels like the game is on hard mode. Thoughts?
These updates aren't magically making the hardware better. Retesting manual undervolting with 19.2.2 yielded identical results to 19.2.1 for me.
Wattman wasn't properly saving/applying settings previously such that any 19.2.1 adjustments (especially auto-tuning) should be thrown out. The...
Where are you finding this information? The amd release notes read like they improved stability of the overclocking software, not of overclocking itself. A single user on the amd subreddit reported good OC results in the new driver discussion thread but there's no quantitative before/after info...
Release has been postponed to September 2019 for additional testing and polish. Probably a good move to clean up bugs and they could certainly benefit from some more marketing leading up to release.
