Agreed that it is fairly dead at the moment, in the West in particular, but this information processing power limit may be the motivation required for renaissance.
That is the story for the street, as usual - the best light possible, but if you look at exec pay - which is tied to company performance, it is quite clear how they did against targets.
I do agree that macroeconomic situation is poor moving towards abysmal, and that is reflected across the...
Nuclear lost lobbyist war in the collective West, first in the States, last in France which seems to be the state of play right now. However if interests deemed it necessary, it will be reintroduced. Pushing information processing limits as a requirement, may be the ticket to bring nuclear...
Bonuses are actually small - in comparison last proxy from INTC ('22 for '21) peers were receiving north of $1.5M and Pat around $5M in cash bonus alone, which is in line with the norm for companies of similar size which performed reasonably well. From that my conclusion is that the recession is...
Well NV have 80% of discrete space sales at the moment, and if we add AI advantage to the mix, I am surprised that AMD is as close as they are at this stage.
In the same boat here, bought 5, atrocious to the degree that I did not even want to buy expansions on maximum sale, bought 6 with all expansions - still play 4 - with mods this is the pinnacle of the series for me to date. 2 is also a great fun game which admittedly I did not start in years...
In case this is a big hurdle for you, you can spend $150 now, and upgrade to 5600, or alternatively like me spend double that, go to 5800X3D and get double FPS to be up to speed with modern processors, only a few percent off 13900.
Interesting read, in depth example of how the industry screws with the contractors.
If you cannot afford an army of lawyers, you are at a serious disadvantage. Someone should make a RTS out of it.
It would be nice for us gearing up to refresh this gen that AMD goes for market share this gen. I am still on 1080TI, and expect to buy something over next 6 months. This launch looks promising.
Exactly, AMD decided to go very high in terms of pricing, and well... while it still makes sense at high end, due to the platform, it certainly does not make sense to go AMD around $300 mark. Intel is sufficiently ahead there that you can go Intel, price in the cost of a new motherboard in the...
They did not want to ruin Zen 4 launch even more with this CPU, as is it was recommended by almost everyone due to price/performance being the best at this time.
No doubt that they will sell more due to longer DDR4 support, makes it an easy decision for those who have a lot of RAM and want the best DDR4 platform to retire it with.
Unless urgent or money to burn, I would wait until 13000 series is released by Intel, and prices may have to be corrected to a more palatable level on AMD side as well, including B650 board release.
I got 5800X3D, so I am good for a while, but for those who were waiting for years to get to...
If anything, this list proves that fun old games are capturing new audiences, and ultimately beat the crap out of new releases in terms of gameplay, which results in continued interest over many years.
Yet, it is quite impressive that a CPU slotted in a 4 year old platform using half the power budget can be even considered as 1% faster.
Not to mention that platform for platform (in this configuration), it's basically half price to boot.
If you cheapen on AL platform the gap grows from here.
For those who still prefer reading.
Even in the titles where this CPU is not faster than 12900k, it is still 15%+ faster than 5950x, especially when looking at 1% lows.
Will be interesting to see 30 game review short haired Steve said he is working on.
Depends on the point if view.
It is the same or better than 12900k. It is not fastest right across the board when 12900k is used with 6800 DDR5, but is ahead of it when they both use DDR4.
Even if one was to start from scratch right now, you coud use $500 saving compared to Adler Lake...
I am not trying it out right now, due to the games supported at launch, however 30% boost for sort of nothing, and up to 50% with minor issues in 4k is a win from my perspective.
Let's hope game support expands reasonably soon.
