Has anyone summarized NOT IN THIS THREAD the consensus of the best cooling options for the A4?
Preferably in a few categories such as maximum cooling, quietest, compromise, etc...
I would expect the document to change over time as new things are tried, but it is too hard to go through this...
Anyone know if one of these will fit an A4?

Notice in the 2nd link how the retaining clips are on opposite/opposing sides.
That's the trick; very disappointed CableMod doesn't make this an option or the default.
Pv
Yup! I posted about this earlier in this mega-thread.
You will need a pin puller and re-pin them yourself.
It should look OK if you just flip the connected to have the retaining clip on the other side.
I contacted CableMod about my disappointment and suggested they provide an option of whether...
CableMod has quality builds, but they do something that I think is a VERY weird thing with their cables.
When you lay the CableMod flat on a table, both connector ends have their latches/catches facing the same direction (ex: up/up).
In this orientation, when you connect the cables this results...
dondan, congrats on selling out of the cases.
Next time, please consider a using a better reseller that knows how to handle load.
Lots of buyers had bad experiences with this.
I did the same thing and prepared yesterday.
I did everything except actually *pay* for an item.
It was the PayPal payment that failed because I trusted auto-complete and had "Washington" as my state and not "WA".
OK, now I'm really off to bed.
Congrats to anyone that got one!
I guess I'll have...
Damn! It still says my "US state code must be two characters"...but it is!
I checked out and paid PayPal 1 time on desktop and 4 times via mobile but still no go! :(
And now they are all gone.
I guess I stayed up till 3:30 for nothing! :(
I'm going to bed! :/
Understood. I'm just going by what Dan's email said and am assuming either the web site clock is off or if not then there is confusion somewhere and it might have accidentally gone on sale at 12AM.
Me too!
If they sell out on Overclockers, I'd buy one [in unused/unopened condition] from an existing owner for a handsome markup + shipping.
Is it OK to post this here?
If not, then I'll delete it.
Pv
I can confirm this too; they directly volunteered the exact same instructions to me.
The problem is, I don't see any way on their site to ship to the US.
What reseller(s) ship to the US?
Pv
I paid $114 for my Gigabyte GA-H170N-WIFI, and it is still in the box unopened.
It is tempting to get a refund and/or do the swap for a Z270, even though I have zero intention of overclocking in the A4 case.
Pv
I just got an email from EVGA announcing their Z270 lineup that also includes the EVGA Z270 STINGER Mini-ITX.

Pv
That is so weird that they do not show up in a "Form Factor == Mini ITX" filtered search. I guess they are still getting them entered in to the system?

Anyways, how do these compare to the Asus Z270I Strix Gaming?
Anyone foresee any...
Looks like the Asus ROG STRIX Z270G is available on Newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132929
Currently $200.
Can anyone see any complications fitting this and fan and memory in the case?
Is it worth the >$80 difference above the GIGABYTE GA-H170N-WIFI?
I have...
For which? Ordering or shipping?
I took Dan's statement(s) about the container to mean that the current batch may only satisfy current orders and a new batch may be needed to fill new orders.
If new orders won't be taken until late-January, then when would those new orders ship to the...
Any Z170 chipset would probably be overkill in this system.
Z170 has its advantages over H170, but I hope even Dan will agree that this case isn't designed with overclocking in mind.
I think it would be best to run a stock clocked fan-cooled system, and that tells me to use H chips and avoid Z...
FWIW, the official name of these PCI-E connectors are:
"8-pin PCI Express power cable" (duh!)

"8-pin PCI Express Auxiliary Graphics Power Connector"

Two noob questions (OK, w/ lots of sub-questions):
I haven't seen any builds [here or elsewhere] with a GTX 1080 (I'm specifically looking at EVGA 1080 FTW), so I just want to confirm that there is room for the card.
I am pretty sure there is, but I don't know if there are any gotchas.
For...
